I think it's pretty safe to say that the unanimous opinion on the film was disappointment. Yes, I know there are those of us that enjoyed it, but the overall voice of the fans is negative. So, the question is, will you be able to look past X-Men Origins' inconistancies between the film series (not even going to go into them, you'll find whole lists in several other threads)? Will you be able to accept that this WAS the origin story of Wolverine in the X-Men film canon?
I don't think I will. There were too many differences between what was established in the first three films (and also just between different scenes in this one, which if you ask me is just SAD) and this for me to ignore. Plus, I felt X-Men Origins was a weak film, period. Though there is one thing I wish I could keep canon: Victor Creed/Sabertooth (did they even call him Sabertooth in this one? Whatever). I thought he was by far the best thing in the spin-off and definitely a superior interpretation than the growling thug in the first X-Men. If we could just insert the Sabertooth of this film into the other three films...but, yeah, X-Men Origins: Wolverine didn't happen.
