Which song do you prefer? Which one, in your opinion represents its respective character the best?

I think Williams' Superman is the most iconic. Hearing those first five notes pretty much everyone is instantly seeing Christopher Reeve.

That said, Elfman's Batman is my favourite so that gets my vote.

All three are distinctive and memorable. However my favourite has to be Superman. I loved Zimmer 's Man of Steel music, but Williams Superman theme somehow captures the essence of the character. It literally soars, and hearing it takes me back to 1978.

Having said all that I think the main titles from Superman TAS and Bathan TAS are also very worthy.

Batman theme represents the character the most. And my favorite of the three.

For me, Williams' Superman as it represents my favourite character of the 3 (and my fave above all superheroes) and my best CBM ever (S:TM) and pretty sums up my childhood, I hold it most to my heart.

In preference of the 3, it would be...

1) Superman Theme
2) WW Theme
3) Batman Theme

Superman's theme all the way.

They’re all wonderful themes but nothing comes close to the Superman theme. It’s the most iconic theme ever maybe only rivalled by Jaws in terms of recognition.

or the psycho shower scene music....

Batman's my favorite out of superhero movie scores in general. It's one of the rare tracks that are worth listening to outside of the movie, and in context it really adds to the atmosphere. Wonder Woman's stands out among modern movies.

Superman's is one that I remember, but then again, it was in four movies that were out when I was a kid, and it's one that gets pointed to by others, and even then I can't come up with it in my head without inevitably segueing into the Star Wars theme. I'm not saying it doesn't get the job done, and I suppose it's above average, but it doesn't hold some special status for me.

John Williams' Superman theme, with Danny Elfman's Batman theme a close second!

John Williams' Superman is THE superhero theme.

love both williams' supes and elfman's bat theme

will give it to williams because of cultural impact

I would rank the Elfman theme the best, in large part because it was carried forth in modified form throughout the Timm/Dini Batman cartoons, thus solidifying it as The Batman Theme. Both it and the Williams Superman theme are competitive, though, in a "Any Given Sunday" sense.

The Zimmer WW theme. . . is not that. Its not even close. Not only does it not sound as good, but its not had nearly enough time to establish itself. Come back in 20 years, and we'll see.

Both Williams’ Superman and Elfman’s Batman theme captured not only their particular interpretations but the essence of their respective characters as well. Both themes and scores are still considered to the general public as the benchmark of superhero themes/scores. Not to mention both themes are timeless and iconic as well. I know I’m in the minority but I wasn’t upset about Elfman adapting both themes into his JL score. That's due to both themes being superior to what Zimmer came up with for TDKT, MOS, and BvS, imo.

As for Zimmer & co. overrated Wonder Woman theme, which is more of a rhythmic riff than a theme/motif. I don’t understand it’s appeal. Sure it’s a unique musical approach in depicting a superhero. However, just because it’s unconventional doesn’t mean it’s great or iconic. It doesn’t even compare to both Williams’ Superman and Elfman’s Batman marches. Besides I’ve heard better superhero themes both past and present that don‘t get nearly as much praise or attention. I don’t feel the electric cello riff really characterizes the character either. It even felt jarring and out of place in her solo movie, imo.

John Williams theme is still the one that makes me look up to the sky whenever I hear it so I had to vote for that one
