Wolverine filming update/news.

Great.

Just finding my way around here and that is very helpful.

Guess the 'Blob' thing is still just a rumor so far.

From glass central canberra:

24 hour c-k-Kulture marathon…

Ginger, Graham and the Gang are just back from an action packed culture-in-the-fast-lane Sydderesque sojourn - a little something for everyone; high-brow, low-brow…and even some mono-brow tossed in for good measure.

We had exited the ‘Berra fairly early and made a beeline for Oxford St - for a strong morning coffee and meander down to Scott Chaseling’s latest solo exhibition, An Antipodean Journal, at Sabbia Gallery (which Megsie was checking out for an article she might be doing a little later in the year.) Pretty interesting show actually, but more of that later in the week…we’ve whacked in a teaser snap for now, and a couple of favourite ‘others’ that we spied over in Sabbia’s ‘corner-shop’ section; a couple of Tom Moore’s pieces of pure joy and a set of Wendy Fairclough vessels. [It must be about time Wendy won the guernsey at the Ranamok, we reckon...n(Ed)]

Then we dashed across to Fox Studio to meet our little bro (Phil) who’s out here working on the latest Wolverine movie. Serious excitement, of course - but as cameras are strictly verboten on the set, and confidentiality an enforced by-law, we can’t tell you anything about the scenes they were filming, or the storyline (otherwise we’d have to kill you…straight after Phil had killed us…) Suffice to say it was all super cool. So anyhoo we watched some filming, had the yummiest lunch with the crew (crikey, those buggers eat well), watched a little more filming, and then left Ginger there - in total Hugh Jackman heaven! - for the rest of the day/night’s shoot while we high-tailed it over to the hotel to get tarted up for our big night out with…Ozzy Osbourne! Yep, Ozzy was on tour and the Gang was suitably pumped!!

Phil had booked us a room at the Shangri La with a view to die for, so we tossed down a pre-concert primer or four, and literally ogled the iconic panorama - Harbour Bridge, Opera House and, directly below, an incredible (colonial)archaeological dig. Can’t imagine it comes any better than that…

Ozzy, meanwhile, was playing out at Olympic Stadium so we heeded prevailing advice and caught a train - and headed towards what essentially morphed into a crowd scene from Mad Max. It was an absolute scream actually, although Ozzy himself was disappointingly inoffensive…no anti-social behavior to speak of whatsoever (no biting off bat heads and spitting them into the audience, nothin’…) But the music was great and the overall experience hugely entertaining (from an anthropological point of view, particularly!) We loved it.

And then we trained it back to the Shangri La for an after-concert-bevie-and-goss-session with Ginger and Phil, in his temporary (3 months or so!) home away from home, two floors up/same eat-ya-heart-out view…tough *******.

We had started the trip with all sorts of good intentions, ie. catching the Archibald and/or doing the MCA the following morning before heading back down the Hume (because we had to be back mid-afternoon for Graham to prep dinner at the Green Herring, of course…) But in the end we thought - stuff it, how often do we get an opportunity to eyeball Max Cullen and Hugh/Logan/Wolfie in action…huh? And how rarely do we get to see our little bro these days? So we sensibly opted for another serve of Wolverine and Phil instead! As you do.

*Note to self - must do a search for that video diary*

WHAT WOULD DANIEL'S X-MEN NICKNAME BE?

Rumors that Daniel Negreanu will make a cameo appearance in next year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine appear to be true. The latest installment in the X-Men franchise returns Hugh Jackman to the silver screen in his furry "Wolverine" role. Negreanu confirmed in a video diary entry that he shot some stuff for the film in Sydney, which, along with nearby New Zealand, is where Wolverine was shot. Reports say Negreanu plays poker against Jackman's Wolverine character in one scene. Sources say there's no truth to the rumor that Daniel felt typecast in his role as a poker player.

His video blog:

He mentions the movie at about 5 mins. in - kiddingly at first saying he wasn't in it since someone asked if he was in NZ - he was in Sydney.

Join the singalong
By David McCowen

THERE are plenty of options for potentially bored Camden students these school holidays.

This afternoon Narellan Library will hold a High School Musical singalong for students aged 10 and over.

Youth services librarian Stacey Bale said the idea came from a high demand for DVDs and books attached to the popular Disney series.

Young rockers will be treated to free popcorn and smoothies.

The library is also holding a stuntman workshop on April 24 for more energetic students.

Hugh Jackman's stunt double for a yet-to-be-released feature film will offer an insider's perspective into the world of Hollywood action movies.

"The stuntman that's currently doing the Wolverine movie is going to show them how to do their favourite stunts," Ms Bale said.

"They also get to see a behind the scenes video."

Bookings are essential but superhero outfits are optional.

"They can dress up if they really want to," Ms Bale said.

"They're more than welcome to, but I don't know too many people over the age of 10 that would wear a Spiderman costume in public."

Taking a boat to film in Sydney Harbor - Cockatoo Island perhaps?

http://www.fadedyouthblog.com/29334/hunk-on-parade

He may have been covered in sweats and those trademark muttonchops, but there was no hiding Hugh Jackman’s million dollar smile as he was snapped boarding a boat today to start filming X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Sydney Harbour.

After celebrating his 12th wedding anniversary with wife Deborra-Lee Furness over the weekend with a pool party at their house in Sydney, it was back to work for the 39-year-old actor as his lovely leading lady watched on from behind the camera.

Production of the highly anticipated final installment of the hit Marvel franchise will soon come to an end, but don’t expect Hugh to rest on his laurels. The busy actor will next begin filming the Neil Marshall-directed flick Drive before finishing the year off with If You Could See Me Now.
All this and he’s a family man to boot!

Wow. The film's close to the end of shooting and we haven't seen Deadpool or Gambit? Have mercy on us and leak a photo of either Deadpool or Gambit!

really?.... wow

when started the production? january? three months of shotting then?

If You Can See Me Now is actually happening?

if the shotting is almost over and Taylor Kitsch hasn't returned yet.....

Ryan Reynolds and Dominic returned time ago.

what do you think?

I'm doubting that - according to someone apparently in the know, Disney put it in turnaround and SB Films/Circle Films picked it up, it's not a musical anymore, and Hugh's production company isn't involved. The PA to the owner of SB Films said Hugh is still "in the mix" to play Ivan but "he's not available until June." Considering it's no longer a musical and his production company isn't involved, I'm not sure he would be doing this, although it does sound like it will be made with someone. I'm also wondering if his three-picture movie musical deal with Disney hasn't fallen through since I think the person who brokered that deal has left the company and we haven't heard anything about stuff since 2005.

That sounded like old info to me too. The book was cute, but I don't know how it would work as a movie.

He really needs to come back to NY and do another Broadway show!!!

Hello..well i was thinking..this movie dont have mutants with visually exciting powers..it will be just fight and jump and heal..more physical accion..i like to see cool and diferent powers. And i think it could have more female mutants with cool powers. What do you think?

Well, we don't know yet exactly who is in the movie or what powers they have, but it doesn't sound like many female characters. We only know of Kayla Silverfox and Heather Hudson, both of whom could be shown with powers of some kind.

If there is a follow-up film, maybe we'll see Alpha Flight with the female characters Snowbird, Marrina, Aurora, etc.

Heather hudson?? Didnt know Vindicator is in the movie, where did you see that? Ok thats fine bring more mutants...

So I um err um guess there only going to do one Wolverine movie than? With what they said in the aritle. Is it really done shooting? Than why wait till 2009 of May? Wonder when they'll show the first preview.

I wouldn't put much stock in fadedyouthblog. If Jackman is willing, and Fox wants another Wolverine movie, there will be another.

While I'd like to believe that Fox is intent on making one Wolverine film, I don't think that's entirely true. If this film's as successful as the second or first X-Men was, they'd definitely try and make another sequel to this film.

Gavin Hood and Jackman both spoke of sequel possibilities, so if this film is a huge success, it's very much a possibility. This film supposedly leaves things open and doesn't lead directly up to X1.

I'd much prefer that Wolverine's story stay within one film. Multiple films would just be too much Logan for me.
