i was watching the last stand today and is it me or is wolverine made out to be the ultimate hero and leader here that in the end he is so out of character and just doesn't act like wolverine

Wolverine was out of character for a lot of the series. :P lol Yeah, it was pretty bad in X3. Storm should have been the one doing the leading, as she was the one who took over the school.

Sometimes, like when he avoids the funeral, he really is like Wolverine from the comics. Other times he is less like the comics version. Fox loves the character, hence he has been elevated in the movies; and hence he is getting a prequel/spin-off.

Yep, this is true, he became so out of character by the end that something happened that i never thought would to me, i hated him and think he looked ridiculous, 2 things i would never have associated with Wolverine previously.

There were several things they should have done differently, IMO:

1. NOT do the Jean/Logan "true love" thing. Their relationship has always been lust, and nothing more. "True love" just doesn't fit them. If they wanted a love story, they should have kept Scott.

2. Have Storm be the one in command. She should have had her be the commander in the final battle, and also changed around the "X-Men Board the Jet" scene. It was okay to have Logan challenge the kids initially, because he does have a skeptical nature. They should have had the kids step up to his challenge, though, and had Storm give the "pep talk."

Maybe some more later. Gotta run now. ;)

Agreed 100%, your suggestion would have been much better.

Wolverine is Fox’s cash cow. The studio has been commissioning Wolverine centered X-Men scripts since 1994… but yes, in The Last Stand, he’s a bit too much of the hero sometimes, while the rest of the X-Men sit at home.

At least the Wolverine spin-off will hopefully be the appropriate place to exercise all of the character’s potential leading man skills.
