Do u guys think Hugh Jackman's voice as Wolverine suits the character? I think it does but at times Jackman can sound kinda *****fied...I always thought Wolverine was supposed to sound dark and gruff vocally, kinda the way they had him in the 90's cartoon. what do yall think?

i think we just have to accept that movie wolverine isn't the same as cartoon/comic book wolverine

Yeah, it did bug me...He had it fine at first but slowly it just turned into his regular voice...Didn't help seeing him play Gaston on Broadway's Beauty and The Beast either. He just sounds too...theatrical. Like an average guy trying to be more.

I think he did a good job with his overall portrayal, its just that when he started to do some of the one liners, it just didnt sound right...his best voice was in x2 when he stabbed Stryker and then said "How does it feel bub?" that was the wolverine voice.

Agreed. His voice didn't bother me any more than his overall appearance. Yes, his Logan looks and sounds more of a traditional, handsome hero-type than a scary loner, but I don't care. The way Jackman portrayed the character worked extremely well.

I actually thought Hugh's voice was very catching through out all the movies. It was deep and husky..... :) ..... and hot

You can see him developing it throughout the movies, in the third one he sound distinctly more Canadian. So I think he might improve it even further for Wolverine.

I actually thought he looked and sounded a lot like Wolverine in the 3rd movie even if he didnt really act like him...His best portrayal is still the 2nd movie and the beginning part of the 1st movie.

I hink he's great. He's really done well at hiding his accent...

I think Hugh did fine.

He's too old now but I thought that Harvey Keitel would've been a good older Wolverine (if done in the early 90s)....short & stalky, tough & nasty. Oh well.

I thought Hugh did great with Wolverine's voice in the first 2 X films, hopefully he can do the same with the Wolverine solo film.

It's fine. It's not perfect, or what I hear in my head when I hear Wolverine...

oh, i think he did an especially good job as Wolverine.
but it would be fantastic to hear his voice with a more Christian Bale Bruce Wayne-->Batman voice transformation.
that would be awesome.
OH!!! AND I DEMAND MORE "BUB"S!!!

man...hugh jackman doesnt even exist to me...if i ever meet him im just gonna call him logan. he is wolverine to me. it sounds natural the way he made his voice. any more emphasis on the dark and scruffy tones of the animated wolverine would just make it sound like he is trying to hard. i dont know about the voice transformation though, papajinx...logan is just logan and will always be logan. i just pray they dont make him wear the wolverine mask for the movie...

hehe yea thats the way i like to look at some of these actors too, even though most of them are supremely talented and accomplished actors I like to look at them as the comic book characters that ive grown to love because they portrayed them so well.

Haha...I saw him outside the stage door after his Broadway show and these guys climbed up on a construction railing while he was out there signing autographs and yelled "WOLVERINE!!!" all at the same time.

He cheered right back at them, it was pretty funny. :oldrazz:

THAT is the coolest thing i've EVER heard.
half way through the Prestige i was hoping that Wolverine and Batman would jump out of nowhere and have a fight to the death.

soooooo... i think maybe you should THINK before you open you mouth.
Christian Bale's voice was the best ever in the world. and if Wolverine could sound like that, it would only add to the undeniable coolness that is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. in fact, let's just make Christian Bale Wolverine.
in FACT, lets just make Chrsitian Bale every movie superhero ever in the world!!!

oh, and i think you're right about the mask. only as long as they don't dress him up in a leather vest with no shirt underneath and those super super tight jeans like on that comic book cover i showed you, huh?
remember?
remember!?!

Hugh has done a whole lot better stuff then just Wolverine. Granted he makes for good eye candy and such in the X-men movies. The stuff "fantasies" are made of. :word: sigh...

Hugh & Christian Bale are like the 2 hottest "hero" guys out there. Somebody said Hugh was getting too old? What's up with that? They can both grow old like Sean Connery or Jack Nicholson and still be on my "hot" list.
my 2 cents worth...

Has anyone seen Flushed Away yet? I can't wait to see the scene with the Wolverine costume ha ha ha ha!
