Worst Case Scenario: Back-up Plan for the Failure of Banjo Kazooie 3.

This arguement is pointless. WhatsHisFace is an Xbot. He hates any non-Microsoft console and he isn't going to drop his simplistic beliefs that Nintendo is a "kiddy" console with few good games. He believes in these things with a Nazi-like passion. Despite the fact that he's a homophobic homosexual and plays "kiddy" games like Viva Pinata and Banjo-Kazooie. There's no point in arguing with a person who isn't going to listen to you.

Xtro, go play some more god damn Super Mario Galaxy. It's the best Mario game ever! And with games like Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Super Paper Mario, along with future releases like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii and the plentiful amount of classic games on the Virtual Console, there is absolutely no reason for your Wii to gather dust. If you don't agree, then just sell the damn thing. You'll get top dollar for it because there are people out there who really, really want one.

spideyboy, telling people that they have no real life friends and listing games such as Spider-Man 3 (which sucks on every console) and Mario Party 8 (the series has gotten to be really, really lame now) makes your arguement look really stupid.

SupahSaiyangirl, learn some better grammar. And Dragon Ball Z sucks goat nuts :o

grammar's overated. when i'm writing an essay or doing my senior exit project i'll give a damn then, here as long as i get my point across well enough, i'm happy:o

two. dbz does not suck, your entitled to your own opinion however dumb i think it may be, but i digress. Everyone sees the anime and naturally asume that the manga is god awful. hell half the mangas writers that came after dbz cite it as their inspiration, so i guess it must have not sucked that bad.:whatever:

fourth. its almost christmas...i cant wait for my Wii.:woot:

Shouldn't you have a "third" somewhere?

oh i erased it, and forgot to add it back ::woot:

i was going to say third. WHF homophobic stance and love of all things xbox adds an endearing quality to this thread.

I think Nintendo's lack of good games is the meat and potatoes of this thread.

Not when GameRankings shows that the Wii is a console struggling to fill it's top-ten list with games able to score over 80%, some being mere Gamecube ports.

meh...WHF I'm happy with my purchase of a Wii and at the end of the day that's truly all that matters. Just like your happy with your 360, so are people with their ps3, ds, psp, etc. I don't see why you have to always knock the Wii down, it's a great system with tons of possibitiy. At a church gathering i heard grown women some almost in their 60's talk about how they have so much fun playing with the Wii. Is that a bad thing? If nintendo brings more people into videogames, people who have played video games at one point in their life or some who have never played video games at all, should everyone complain about it? you guys keep complaining as though if everyone gets in on the video game thing, the death of the industry will be at hand. most of the games right now are bad, we got it! thanks for pointing that out for the umteenth time!!! it wholeheartedly is the 3rd party developer's faults, not nintendo's. they counted nintendo out and now that nintendo's cleaning up shop they are shoveling crap not even worthy to be put on the ps2 and trying to cash in. ubisoft themselves owned up to it and promised that next year should be alot better, hopefully.

then you complain that the Wii's not next gen and made from gamecube parts, that's not true. the Wii was built from the ground up with entirely new parts some based on the gamecube architecture, but they are not the same. the Wii's graphics chips are set up in the same fashion as the 360's, their 2 of them and each handles a different function. though they are no where near as powerful as the 360's, they put out graphics just a little above the original xbox. So the Wii is not a gutted game cube.

Finally, i do believe the whole "i have a Wii, but its currently collecting dust while i play console x much more" should die a quick death. Its overused, annoying, and to put it bluntly the dumbest statement ever With the advent of the internent and with you guys suposedly being in the group known as the "hardcores" i would think that you guys would use all that knowledge you claim to have and come to a simple conclusion that even the 'average joe' could make. And it is *drum roll pease*

SELL THE DAMN THING ON EBAY. IF YOU DON'T WANT IT ANYMORE RECOUP YOUR LOSES AND SELL IT. IS IT THAT HARD TO PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER. IF I DON'T WANT SOMETHING ANYMORE I SELL IT OR GIVE IT AWAY, IT'S NOT THAT HARD!!!!!:cmad:

so yeah that's pretty much it...

You don't know what you're talking about. The Wii isn't running SLI. The Wii is essentially an overclocked Gamecube, it's GPU isn't even on par with the original Xbox's, and IGN released a report showing that it's less powerful in general than the original Xbox. I'd give you the link, but I ALREADY gave it to you months ago and you didn't care to add it to your extensive mental library then, so it's not worth it to give you the offer now.

wii chip

gamecube chip

162 MHz "Flipper" LSI. 180 nm NEC eDRAM-compatible process. Co-developed by Nintendo and ArtX.

Technical Breakdown
The Wii system has been designed to be "small, quiet and affordable," according to Nintendo. The machine, available at launch in glossy white, is just 8.5 inches long, 6 inches wide and less than two inches thick (the exact dimensions are 157mm x 215.4mm x 44mm.) The Big N is fond of comparing the system to the size of roughly three stacked DVDs. Wii can be placed horizontally or vertically. The console is roughly twice as powerful as a GameCube, putting it in horsepower territory beyond Xbox, but well shy of Xbox 360.

the first 2 are from wikipedia and the last one's from ign, they one you kindly refered me to.

so yeah once again WHF under estimates my knowledge and.......yeah not in the mood to do the 'in your face dance'

The Xbox's CPU ran at 733mhz. The Wii's GPU runs 10mhz faster than the Xbox's, but lacks any additional shader technology from the old Gamecube days, so... it's still worse.

The only advantage the Wii has over the Xbox is more RAM, outdoing the Xbox 1 by a whopping 20 megabytes. That's slightly better textures than this for a "next-gen" game.

Bravo Nintendo. You saved money.

But... Kit has claimed my SMG. I haven't been able to play it since he's got his hands on it, and I'm not sure if he's done with it yet. I only got to play about 25 minutes into it, and it seemed pretty fun at the time... otherwise my opinion is scant.

Shame on you... not getting to experience the best in Sub-Par Xbox graphics!

*instantly bursts into Nintendo war*

Where the Hell is third ?

And I can play Super Mario Galaxy on my Wii before Christmas! Hurray for me for being so awesome! :woot:

Actually, Super Mario Galaxy actually looked pretty good graphics-wise. Whereas going from ME to SMG would usually bother me, the graphics actually fit the art style quite nicely. It has "aged" nicely, that is. Sort of like Fable.

Doesn't matter whose at fault. It's the end result that matters.

How is it Nintendo's fault that games that they aren't even involved in the development process end up sucking horribly?

It's the developers fault why these games suck, for not taking the time to learn how to make a Wii game, and it's the reason why third parties aren't going to do well on the Wii if they continue acting this way.

Yeah, it's also the developer's fault that they don't all pump out seventy Halo-quality games per year for the 360. The more realistic viewpoint on development issues is that Nintendo handled developer relationships pretty poorly, and they were left clueless while Nintendo continued to guard the "precious secrets of the Revolution".

I'm not even going to argue with you. It's completely pointless to do so :o

Ummmm......Sector PS3

Are you refering to how I accuse developers of being lazy on the Playstation 3 also

No, I'm pointing out the fact that the problem with the Wii is the same problem that the PS3 is struggling to alleviate right now. Developers just can't be bothered to expend the time and energy trying to remove the obstacles set in their path, at least fully. I'm drawing a connection between the two as a means to show that they're in the same boat.

The 360 is familiar, so developers are willing to pull out all the stops. But third party developers struggle on both systems (Wii and PS3) because they aren't fully familiar with the development process and thus sort of "give up". Hence 'Sector PS3'.
