First, strictly from a rumor standpoint:

Not a fan of LR, but say they are right about this: http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-could-superman-be-squaring-off-against-the-jackal-13013

He does look somewhat like Cavill.

I know CBM is very unreliable as well, but:
"There could be a character in the movie that other people might refer to as 'Superman'"

I think if you are doing a story about Superman trying to deal with his powers and confronting responsibility, having a mirror image of him on the villainous side of things could be quiet intriguing. I always found Bizarro to be a bit goofy, but do you think it could be pulled off?

After reading the rumor this morning, my very first thought/post was that Ramirez looks like Bizarro Cavill.

I thought Snyder was being sarcastic and was referring to Superman himself. Either way, why wouldn't they have Cavill play Bizarro?

is bizarro snyder the one who makes visually uninteresting films with very engaging and well written characters? :awesome:

I love Bizarro, but I'd rather see him used for fun...and I'm pretty sure today's superhero movies are usually of the No Fun League variety.

If he was being manipulated by Luthor and came out as a sympathetic figure he'd be good.

It depends on the way would write him. Bizarro has always been one of my favourite villains,in any interpretation. But for a movie,I dont think they should go for dumb Bizarro. A hideous creature visually, but I would tone down his stupidity. Having him with backwards logic, yes, but they dont have to make him an idiot.

I don't think we will see Bizarro in the first film. It would be a stupid idea because Superman is just starting out, there needs to be time that he is out there first for Lex (if involved in the creation) to decide to clone him or whatever.

If Bizarro is in it, it makes me think like this: if Bizarro is in it, then Lex Luthor is in it as well (Bizarro being Luthor-created is easy to explain and most likely would be what they'll use), making me think Bryne's Superman for this movie, or just a fraction. Then, it makes me wonder of other villains or ideas that might be connected to Bizarro: have Luthor use advanced versions of today's technology, for example: cloning for Bizarro (and Doomsday, going with the DCAU version, if they have him), robotics for Metallo, and armor for his battlesuit; all introduced around the same timeframe in Bryne's MOS. I still like to think Brainiac is in this movie, and that maybe he gives Luthor this advanced stuff, and even the kryptonite in this universe, as a facade as a ally to Luthor to get rid of Superman, but in fact to get rid of Luthor too to accomplish his own plans.

On the other hand, like Steve from Superman Homepage and many others have expressed: "a character that people may call 'Superman'" sounds like he was joking referring to Superman himself.

No thanx to Bizarro. He would add something very unintentional comedic to the movie. Also something surreal which the movie could do without. I dont think he would work. I also think he's kinda boring, and reminds me of the bad Superman in S3.

They can do better.

For Bizarro to work as a main baddie you would have to change him a bit. I would keep the traditional Bizarro look, but maybe throw in some elements of Ultraman..

Hey! My thoughts on this…

If they use Bizarro (which they shouldn't right away), they should have him be a plot device of some sort, just not the main villain. Bizarro leans more toward being a tragic figure. Anyone who doesn’t know what he’s doing is one. Superman would be limited to pummeling him until he’s dead, because there’s nothing else you could do with him in the category of a villain. He’s dumb and evil, so BAM, he needs to die. There’s no interesting arc there. It would be depressing even.

If its bizarro, the clone turned bad, good! The bizarro from bizarro world? Stupid! I dont think his a decent enough villain to have just one movie about him. He fits more short stories. Darkseid and Mongul are much better Superman foes.

Wasn't the bad superman the only reason some people still watch Superman III?

I wouldnt mind him as a secondary villain, but not as the main villain.

No, Bizarro Snyder is the guy who made a 12-hour Watchmen film for $500 because he really wanted to please uptight fanboys.
