Would give you up TDK trilogy for a successful DCEU?

Would you give up the TDK trilogy for a better DCEU?

however, I have worked up quite an appetite today and would certainly think about giving up TDKR in exchange for a pizza or something right about now

When people say they'd give up TDKR? How exactly would that work?

Does it mean making a Justice League movie where Christian Bale's Batman would appear fresh off The Dark Knight? or make a sequel to TDK filled with DC easter eggs and an after credit's scene that teases a Justice League movie?

Either way would mean giving up Christopher Nolan as a director and turning his film series into the studio's baby, Neither of these options sit well with me.

I would have liked a TDKR with some changes to the plot and characterisation, but a movie kickstarting a cinematic universe?

No. No. No. No. No. No.

But then I would have liked a Man Of Steel 2 with changes made from the previous movie that didn’t try to kickstart a cinematic universe as well.

Give up a great origin movie, maybe the best CBM ever and a good (but with some flaws) third part?

Shouldn't think so..

I'd keep BB, also. But TDKR I wasn't a huge fan of, so I would trade that one.

I really like BB, but if it came down to it I’d prefer a really good interconnected DC cinematic universe on par with the MCU. Just imagine a Superman trilogy, a Batman trilogy, a Wonder Woman trilogy, Flash, GL, Aquaman, all meeting every so often in a Justice League trilogy...

Maybe one day.

That’s how it is for me too. Getting the ultimate Batman Joker film and Batman origin film were both long-held dreams of mine. But what you’ve just described is a bigger dream of mine that is even more important (and includes the need for a top Batman anyway).

I'm a Superman fan - always have been, always will be - and there's a time when I would have happily voted yes, just for the sake of seeing somebody other than Batman in the DC stable get a good movie for once.

Now, though, after all these years...I don't have really any hope left of WB EVER learning the right lessons from its past successes and failures on the DC movie front. I don't blame the DK trilogy for that - the problem existed well before then.

Not sure really

Just felt like a good opportunity for a joke at the time!

Hell ****ing no to this question.

Another way to look at it is this. WB learned the wrong lessons from the Dark Knight movies and tried making Man of Steel like those movies. And that started a chain reaction that led to a movie called Justice League making less than solo Marvel characters.

We could be getting an amazing Martian Manhunter movie right now or maybe even a second Flash movie. Instead the only shining star is Wonder Woman and the rest of the league will be lucky to get a second movie let alone a first.

My first inclination is to say no, however I'm thinking of a 20 part DC franchise that spread around the love to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Titans with Avengers like Justice League......or you know the JLU come to life.

That’s what I was thinking of. Don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t want to lose Ledger’s Joker but man I really wish we got a proper Justice League movie. Can you imagine if we got something like this in live action?

I would love to see that on screen or even the final battle in Destroyer.

I’m a huge DC fan. But I love Begins soooo much and love TDK. I also really like TDKR. I would never trade those movies and especially not for a cinematic universe, which I think is a tired gimmick. I actually prefer stand alones.

Now I would consider trading those for a more diverse and high quality series of stand alone movies that would bring us characters who wouldn’t normally get their own movies such as Nightwing or Wally West or Batgirl.

But as it stands I’d keep the trilogy over some cinematic universe

no because they are not mutually exclusive.
