Just would like to say:

when Batman rumors where going on, you never heard Affleck's name.

Love Ben, would have preferred Brolin though. Brolin would have been badass.

I also don't get how we're suddenly regulating Driver as more of a villain type based solely on his looks. That's like saying only good looking people can be heroes and ugly looking people can be villains, which whether it's intentional or not, is in comics. What's wrong with a hero who isn't the best looking guy? It's what they exude that matters. It's no different in terms of how we criticize women's looks here.

All it comes down to is interpretation and what we see on screen. This guy isn't even cast yet anyway. I'd trust Snyder because he is usually spot on with casting.

Hellboy ain't all that good looking and he's a good guy.

You know, having a simple mask alone to hide is identity, is already difficult to buy. But add Driver's unique features to that, he'd have to run around with cowl like Batman.

A paper bag.

I was thinking EXACTLY this the other day. His features are far too distinguishable; and the fact that he's 6'3" or 6'4" wouldn't help.

Badgley may be a short arse, but he has my vote against the other two.

He's 5'9 Nightwing's official height is 5'10. Some boots inand he is comic accurate, that's far from a short arse.

Didn't follow this thread too much, so I didn't even realize that people went so far as to reduce him to villain material, based on his looks. I'm not saying he couldn't play a hero, but he just seems wrong for Nightwing. And it's not just about his looks. I think it'd be kinda wrong, to not just have Batman, but also his young sidekick tower over Superman. Not only that, he also looks to have a natural wider build than Cavill as well. If you put him through the same training regimen as Cavill and Affleck, he'd look like a freaking tank.

I was thinking of Tim Drake's height. 5'11?

He's taller than Grayson.

I knew DC/WB would be bringing in character's from the DC universe onto film, but I didn't think they'd try to make Robin*NightWing* work again. I don't think people have an issue with Robin and or Diana making cameo's in the film, people just have an issue with Robin/Dick on film in general.
Some people like John Campea from AMC movie talk will still see the movie but any enthusiasm for the film is crushed because a character is being introduced on film that hasn't fared that well in the past.
I'm indifferent to it. I don't want to see the Robin side, and If they have Nightwing, have it to where Bruce meets this kid in his 20's and makes him into a side-hero. The whole taking a teen and making him a side kick wouldn't translate well onto the big screen.
I'm slightly worried about the film becoming overstuffed. I still want Superman to be very relevant in the movie, I already have fears that he will be overshadowed.

I don't understand how anyone's enthusiasm would be crushed because Dick might show up.

Best description of Robin ever. Haha!

Because they imagine Batman will summarily beat up Superman…and if Nightwing is there he'll give Superman wedgies.

Let's think, every time Batman has fought Superman he's had help.

TDKR: Had Green Arrow & Robin.

Hush: Had Catwoman.

Um, that one comic where Superman was the ruler of a world he had Robin.

It does make sense that Nightwing would help out.

:hehe:

Just going off the quote about that AMC guy, you might as well be crushed about Batman on film because it's not like his portrayals have fared all that well too.

Actually I like him for both roles. He was extreamely likable in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and very hardcore in We need to talk about Kevin. He is very versatile, perfect for either Robin.

it would be cool if there were a flashback sequence between Bruce and Robin (Dick) ala Watchmen opening sequence.

I would love to see Nightwing in live-action film. Maybe he'll get his own movie one day.

Bringing in Dick Grayson early on is genius. There's potential for six movies with him as the lead. Nightwing trilogy, Teen Titans trilogy
