Let me clarify, in the Ultimate Comics Universe, Venom wasn't the result of a symbiote, but a bodysuit created by Peter's dad. Since they don't have the rights to do the story with SHIELD and Red Skull, it would seem they're going with the ultimate version where he's a scientist. This is reinforced in the trailer when Peter finds what would become his webshooters in the trailer and Ben remarks it was created by Peter's father.

If they went with the bodysuit version, it would separate it from the Raimi films and make it somewhat more realistic. In the comics, Richard and Mary Parker were killed in a plane crash orchestrated by Richard's benefactor (Norman Osborn). It would be a nice way to tie things together and establish Norman before he becomes the Goblin in a 3rd film.

One thing I never understood about the Ultimate symbiote is why it creates the long tongue, fangs and claws out of nowhere. It makes sense for an alien to do that, but a bodysuit made to cure cancer?

Well it's the psychological aspects of what having an alien inside your head would do to you that I found most interesting...

So I'd prefer not.

But I can see what your saying, and it may work better that way with the info we've got.

Anything would be better than emo dancer Parker.

No, that would be....stupid, IMO. Another thing I wasn't that fond of in Ultimate.

Doesn't matter, they didn't go the Ultimate route in Raimi's flick and the Symbiote/Venom story still sucked ass. Let's stick with the classic villains, shall we.

I like Ultimate's Symbiote/Eddie Brock angle so much better than the original angle. It made Eddie a crucial part of Peter's life, rather than some random schmuck that stumbled into power. Also, "body suit" is a bad way to describe it to those who have never really read it. It's not a literal suit, it's still substance that is subject to the host's personality traits and quirks. It was very form fitting and under control on Peter because he's a very level headed person that knows how to handle power. It got out of control when it attached to Eddie because Eddie was a power hungry person that had no idea how to control it. That was the reason why Peter's father was never ready to release it to the public; because he knew of that downside.

Actually, and you might be shocked at my answer....I wouldn't mind the cancer bodysuit for Webb's films. As much as I DON'T want to see Venom in this new film series, if the villain is brought to an installment, I want to see something different. We already had the symbiote and it was poorly done, so I think we need something new and not the alien symbiote.

But, here's a question...if an Eddie is in the series, will it be simply Eddie Brock since Raimi already used Eddie Brock, Jr.?

If they do use Venom again this time, I'd prefer them to go the Ultimate route. It made more sense to me than alien goo...

I think it's possible they'll have Venom set up for the second sequel, and, if so, they definetely must go with the Ultimate version.

Venom's orging as an alien made little sense in SM3, as it barely connected with other storylines and is no more accurate to present days. It's like nuclear weapon from the Planet of Apes, which was cleverly replaced by a more realistic virus outburst, making an analogy for such other viruses as HIV or H1N1.

Also, if the second sequel is released in 2016-17, it will have a better reason for Venom to appear. If we think about it, the sequel will be released like 10 years from SM3 and, if this trilogy is successful, it will definetely be accepted well by audience.

With the storyline of Peter's parents having an impact on at least one movie, I can see them re-introducing Venom in the right way this time and do justice to the character.

Having the symbiote/Venom again in the third reboot-installment would copy the first franchise.... And that would simply suck! No matter how much time would pass.

The Ultimate story wasn't that bad, but I would rather there be different stories altogether this time around. Green Goblin does deserve a spot in this series though. Especially with Oscorp and Gwen Stacy around.

Maybe if this goes beyond three films (why is three always the magic number anyways!?) then they can "do it right"*.

*Completely relative definition of the Symbiote/Venom Saga done justice.

That sounds absolutely lame (then again, why am I not surprised? Oh yeah, because it's that awful ULTIMATE SM stuff!;)).

The Symbiote should be an alien, if it will ever be in these new Spider-Man movies. Otherwise, don't bring it at all.

I want the symbote to come from space. They should make it like it was done in The Animated Series. I want a scene with a space shuttle like in TAS.

Venom was completley wasted in Spider-man 3 and butcherd pretty bad in terms of how the character was portrayed,

I feel he deserves a second chance and i hope he comes into play in the movies, would love to see Carnage as well.

No one even remembers Venom in SM3 so it really wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Agreed. But I don't want Carnage in a Spider-man movie though. There are so many classic villains to choose from so Carnage as a villain any time soon seems a little far fetched.

Don't get me wrong, it would be extremely cool if we got Carnage on the big screen, but just not in a Spidey film. If we'll get the Venom spin-off, I really think that we will get Carnage in that

I think it would be much better if it was more of a symbolic change than a physical change, like when he was mourning for Aunt May in the comics. A death in the family, or a death of a close friend (Captain Stacy).

My question is why not create a 616/Ultimate hybrid Venom? Combine Ultimate Eddie Brock Jr. with the 616 symbiote could be interesting. Or maybe, combine the symbiote with cancer research. Maybe Richard Parker and Eddie Brock Sr. were working on curing cancer and they created a symbiotic creature?

That's what they did in Spider-Man 3. And it sucked.

No they did not, in any fashion. If anything they used the 1994 animated series incarnation of the character.

In the Ultimate series, he was kind of like a darker version of Peter, which is exactly what he was in the movie.

EDIT: I got mixed up on something
