Batman Begins Would you think of Batman Begins as a British Film?

it's a us movie, y'know... chris nolan is british but he grew up in the usa just like his brother jonah... they call it uk movie b/c it was filmed in the uk just like charlie and the chocolate factory... same with tim burton's batman...

It's a lot more than that. The entire Production company is British. The distributors and financiers are American, but the cast and crew are British on the whole.

It is officially recognised as a British Film, along with the Harry Potters, James Bonds and Tomb Raiders. There aren't many British blockbusters, but Begins is one. Why can't it be accepted? The previous series had its chance, now the Brits have made an effort.

although i hate to say it, a lot of crap comes out of Hollywood's "American Movies". if it has to be considered British to be taken seriously and seen for the masterpiece it is, then let it. as long as those limey Brits keep em coming and don't throw Hugh Grant in it i'm happy.

Like.. every Gotham Extra would have been English. It was filmed in England (mostly,) the Batmobile was built in England, the Stunt Co. was English, aswell as the stunt men. Then of course Nolan, Crowley, and 2 of the Producers. The real big American contributions were Goyer, Holmes, Freeman and the budget.

I remember reading an article that said when Bale was being interviewed for promo's for BB that he kept teh american accent because he didn't want people to wonder why a Dutchman was playing Bruce Wayne/Batman. Am I missing something or is Dutch just another way to say british. I coulda swore Dutch meant holland but now i'm confused because he was born in Wales. Anybody have a clue?

He probably said Welshman and you misheard it as Dutchman.

Yeah. But, I keep hearing that Bale moved around as a kid. He was a child actor, so he must have grown up like a rolling stone. Kinda always on the move.

Btw, BATMAN 89 had quite a few British links didn't it? It was filmed over there, and weren't some of the guys behind the scenes working on it british?

Ya know what? I don't care. It doesn't matter. Seriously. If all these actors couldn't hide they're accents.....then maybe I'd have one. But, they're all great actors....and ****ing own. So, that's how I see it. British film? Sure, whatever. It's a great film.....so, that's all I really care about.
