It'll take another "Summer of Hell" like it was in 2007 for the General public to lose interest in the WWE and pro wrestling. IMO, The Summer of Hell 2007 played a significant role in the WWE going PG, otherwise I think it would have been TV 14 had it not been for that. That summer was when the WWE had to change everything, from its image to its current state. Had the WWE been able to remain at TV 14, they may have been able to take a few more risks with their product (but not go overboard completely).
Then again, if it wasn't for the Summer of Hell 2007, the WWE would not have its current drug testing policy. The WWE was able to recover from it, but they had to change in order to do so. If it happens again, who knows what the future of the WWE will be. As long as there isn't a second Summer of Hell, the general WWE audience won't care how bad the product is.
