I'm sick of Goldberg constantly being given crap for this, as if he intentionally ended Bret's career. Out of all the guys who have also been responsible for seriously injuring or ending someone's career, it's always "F Goldberg for ending Bret's career". What about Owen and Austin? Or Sting and Rick Rude? Or Seth Rollins' recent spate with injuring opponents? I mean, Bret seems to regard Rollins in just about the same way he regards Goldberg and yet everyone jumps to his defense because he's from the indies and does a lot of flippy moves.
Seriously, 16 years of bitterness and venom against one person who made a mistake is enough, wouldn't you say? You all got over Rollins ending Sting's career five minutes after it happened.
As for this notion that Goldberg wasn't anything but a corporate creation who was manufactured to be popular, I'd like to point to all the musclebound, dominant wrestlers over the years who nobody ever gave a crap about, even though the bookers wanted them to. We have one right now, Braun Strowman. If literally anyone could fill that sort of role, why isn't Strowman more popular? And why in spite of the obsessive efforts they've put into getting Reigns over is he still being booed out of arenas left and right?
