Ziggler has to win. There needs to be a pay off to his losing streak storyline.

I think he saw the writing on the wall. I don't blame him if he does leave WWE / retire.

I love how the "Canadian mafia" appears to be reforming across the whole company again. :woot:

Damn, more white girls getting killed tonight than at OJ Simpson's retirement party.

I don't care if he leaves or not

Miz is the best heel the WWE has right now, and the IC title always works best when a bad guy has it

see - Ravishing Rick Rude, Honky Tonk Man, Mr Perfect

We've seen Miz Vs. Ziggler before. Dolph winning the title back does nothing for him and would be a waste. Give the belt to a new guy that Miz can elevate by having a long reign.

They're going to break Demolition's record. Might as well break HTM's record too.

Since Ziggler's contract ends in October, I really do wonder what they're going to do. Will they undercut Miz's fantastic push or let Ziggler walk. As much as I like Ziggler, the man has been stagnant ever since his stable with AJ Lee and Big E ended. Booking ruined him. He had his chances to leave and he decided to stay in that horrid booking.

Ziggler, if they ever got it right, could be a legit superstar.

disagree

what Miz said last night was more accurate than people want to admit

Ziggler is a good mid to upper midcard guy AT BEST
Anyone who can get the crowd going like he can, who has that look, can be legit. The same was said about Bryan for years. He is a midcarder and best. Has anyone been more over then Bryan was, hell is, since Austin and the Rock retired?

The Ziggler problem is the WWE pulling a self-fulfilling prophecy. They continually treat him like a midcard guy, and then wonder why he can't rise above being a midcard guy.

Don't ever compare Ziggler to Bryan Danielson.

First of all, as far as in ring skill goes Bryan is in an entirely different galaxy from Ziggler.

Second, Bryan had proven he was a main event level talent in multiple major promotions before he got to WWE. Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Dragon Gate, Pro Wrestling NOAH... anyone who has ever watched those promotions knew Bryan was the real deal long before his fans started hijacking WWE programming and forcing them to give him his due.

Bryan Danielson got himself over.

Ziggler? All he has is a goofy name, no defined character, failed stand up career, nightmares of the Spirit Squad, and a largely undeserved reputation for being good at selling.

Don't undercut Ziggler too much. The man could wrestle a mop and we'd all still enjoy it.

Bryan Danielson is my favorite wrestler of all time. I have followed him since 2003. Even when I was taking long breaks from wrestling, I still watched his stuff. I know exactly how good he is.

I am not saying Ziggler is as good. He is a fine wrestler though. The idea that he isn't, is bit bizarre. My point is that the WWE is big on treating great potential main event talent like they can never be more then a midcarder. And they do that through half-ass booking. They either take the attention off them, take the belt off them in an manner that shows they aren't a main eventer or book then in mediocre feuds. Even with Bryan they were undercutting his post-Wrestlemania title reign with a BS feud before he got hurt. It was exactly what they did to Benoit post Wrestlemania XX.

Even look at Kevin Owens right. They are making his title run not about him, but HHH and Steph. They can't help it. Unless you are Cena, Orton or Batista, how many guys have really been allowed to be over? Even Punk disappeared into obscurity after they jobbed him to the Rock.

It is notable that Ziggler's profile only raised this year because the brand split meant they needed someone to give Ambrose a good opponent for his first title defense, which points out the problem from all sides.

There's a limited amount of time on WWE programming overall; Ziggler, clearly a talented in-ring worker and decent promo man, was treated as a non-entity because of bad booking burying his potential and because being treated as such rendered him the bottom of the totem pole; better workers managed to get themselves over, and less skilled ones could still have more potential since they're at the start of their careers. The brand split elevated him as a matter of course; AJ Styles and Cena were going to be occupied with their feud, Orton was set up on Brock's menu, and the other main wrestlers on Smackdown were even lower profile or wasted potential than Ziggler.

We're arguably seeing now how he was underserved in the old system because, while he may be jobbing, he's doing a damn good job.

So does TNA still have a near future or are officially over? Is there a deadline?

Billy Corgan will be on ESPN radio in the morning. Expect some kind of announcement.

I thought the best opportunity to pull the trigger on Dolph in recent times was post the 2014 Survivor Series when he was the last guy... well... "standing".

He did get an IC Title run which wasn't even a month long and survived for 2 minutes in the Royal Rumble. He should have had that really long IC run post that and hopefully been booked like a legit 1B Champion like Rusev was in his two runs.

Then based on where you wanna go, he could have hopefully bumped to the main event.

I bought the Bound For Glory VIP package. Wish me and the company luck. :funny:

Remember when a bunch of people in this thread were all over Ziggler 3 years ago? I sure do.

I was disappointed in Ziggler for not leaving the last time his contract was ending. he could have done what Cody is doing a be a big fish in a little pond and make some real impact in those scenes. Instead he went the JOB Squad route and stuck with the E where he gets put through **** on the regular and he has no one to blame for himself. Hell, last time he was injured I forgot he was even still employed.

He's a guppy in an ocean. An injured guppy. Surrounded by sharks. He wanted the easy life. Pin me, pay me, right Dolph?

If this is his last match in the E I won't shed any tears over it.

Ziggler is one of the unfortunate people who were driven into a wall by the wwe.
But he also never really had the motivation to do more...at least it seemed that way.

He had everything you need for a Main Eventer nowadays, but the wwe never really pulled the trigger with him.
And on his end, he never really tried to take the gun from them and pull the trigger himself.

Its a shame because he is really fantastic all around.

He is in the same as Room as people like Cesaro, Bray Wyatt, Neville, Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Sheamus etc.
People who have been misused by the wwe.

I always thought Dolph was overrated but I have to give credit where it's due, he's done really well since the split. The only thing really hurting him now is what happened pre-split.

You can't feed Dolph to Corbin, then have the former move onto a high stakes feud for the IC belt while the latter ***** around with the likes of Crews and Swagger.

How on earth are we meant to take Dolph seriously after that? But somehow he is clawing some back and as I said, credit is due there.

Personally, I don't think he's leaving. He'll beat the Miz and they'll have a quickish rematch that Miz will also lose, which will then free Miz up to enter the main event.

This week's NXT

The Perfect Ten squashed The Curse of Mediocrity.

Glorious Ten was too good to be true.

Hideo's English is getting really good. I think he speaks English better than Nakamura at this point.

The Ealy twins debut jobbers.

Dash and Dawson's 'Nope' when Samoa Joe was rampaging made me chuckle.

Mandy Rose has been wrestling less than a year and is already better than Eva Maria :funny:

The Authors Of Pain had their first squash match in which they legit looked like terrifying monsters in my opinion. Throwing that guy out the ring like he was nothing.

You forgot about Asuka vs Liv Morgan!

I was a little surprised by Mandy Rose. She's not a great wrestler, but as CM said, she's at least better than Eva Marie. She throws effective-looking strikes, which a lot of women wrestlers historically have had trouble with, so if you factor in a learning curve and her stripper-quality looks, she might really make it in the business.
