This thread easily has some of the best artwork I've seen on this entire site. I am completely blown away by your coloring skill, and the progression of your drawing skill. I have to be honest and say that browsing through each of these pages has seriously inspired me to open up my sketchbook tonight and blow through a couple of pages.

If/when you have the time I would love to see you post a tutorial on how you get those fantastic colors in Photoshop.

Fantastic work. Keep it up.

wanted to do something a bit more realistic tonite... anyone know who it is?

Thanks man. Those are very gracious words. Really i'm surprised you're "blown away" by my coloring since, well, honestly i think i suck. I really have no knowledge of coloring.. and I just do whatever I think looks right. There's alot for me to learn. I feel the same as you whenever I see other artists' works. For me it was this guy named ZhuZhu over at conceptart.org. His stuff is just so amazing that it really inspired me to sketch everyday. Go take a look at his sketchbook over there and you'll be blown away by his use of color.

I'm not really sure i can even create a tutorial since I don't have any real process or technique that I can really elaborate on. Although lately with these sketches I've been trying to emulate that guy Zhu zhu's process of blocking out values first before going into details. It really required me to change the way i think about digital painting. And subsequently i've seen a marked increase in quality of my work.

For me, black and white is always so much easier than using color and i've only really done it a couple times beginning late last year.

For the recent black and white sketches I used a program called open canvas. It's a small program but i really like it alot. For the color paintings and colored artwork i used Corel Painter X which is more intuitive for me than photoshop.

If you have any specific question i hope i can help. Im glad your inspiration was sparked and hope you update your sketchbook soon.. Drawing everyday really helps by leaps and bounds.

HAve fun drawing!

open canvas has this feature that allows me to record my drawing process and other ppl with open canvas can play it back. maybe ill do that one of these days.

I also watch lots of speed painting vids on youtubel

So here's a new TDK joker using pictures for a little reference. I still chose to retain the capcomish style but his smeared makeup makes it hard to be all clean
