WW maybe set in the 1920's.

I think that's the point of the solo. To make the hero stand out, so I agree that the less fellow Justice Leaguers are around, the better.
I have a feeling althought I don't think it will be on the 20's I'm almost sure her solo will be before BvS timeline, maybe involving Paradise Island and Greek gods threats at 100% without involving Earth (I think Paradise Island will be in some sort of separate frequency but still on Earth tho).

Stupidest ***** ever. Wonder Woman can and should be easily modernized, just like Thor.

I agree with the 20s thing being stupid and pointless.

A modernized Wonder Woman has a lot of potential for good storytelling and character growth.

The idea of even in modern society, women are still second class citizens. A subtle theme, which can resinate with the female audience. :wow:

Expecially, Diana being a beacon of hope for women. :whatever:

And besides, it's the last DCCU movie before Justice League, so something big is going to happen at the end.

I've always wanted a period piece for Superman set in the early 40's, I'm interested in this though.

The concept art at comic con reportedly depicted Wonderwoman in a WW1/2 setting. So yeah it looks like a period setting is confirmed for WW

I hope they can distinguish themselves effectively from CA:TFA. Their actual origins and personalities are quite different though so I don't expect any sense of déjà vu.

NO! I want it to be like the animated movie! Set in modern time!

I have no problem with a period setting as long the story, script and action is good as well as the chemistry between Gal and Pine.

I'm an Israeli and I got to ask Gal if she saw the animated movie and she did and she liked it a lot, but she couldn't tell me if the movie will be like that...

By the way her name is GaDOT, as in the "T" isn't silent.

20's are pretty interesting decade, I'm good with anything as long the main character is done justice.

Nice! Ask her what WW comics she read next time. I was surprised that no one asked her that at comic con.

I'm good either way with it being set in the past or present.

I also think an opening montage (like Watchmen) showing her through out time wold be cool as hell.

I think they might use the period setting for flashbacks in the BB/MOS style.

They will want to set the main story in modern times, so it can relate to the modern audience.

Diana in modern day Man's World is a avenue to present real world issues about being a woman in the 21st Century world.

Since this rumor first surfaced we've had Michelle MacLaren hired and then leave the project, Jason Fuchs reported as scriptwriter, reports of WB hiring six writers to come up with ideas, and Patty Jenkins hired as director. There have been reports of Braveheart-like origins, a tiger sidekick, Snyder wanting it set during the Crimean War and MacLaren wanting it set during World War I. Then the Comic-Con concept art supposedly showed WW standing over soldiers during World War II.

There are obviously lots of rumours and contradictions, as well as a lot of changes and developments since then.

It's hard to see them still having the first movie set entirely during the 1920s. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was still included in flashbacks. Diana could observe stuff like women's suffrage and women's rights in that era. And in WWII she could observe the "Rosie the Riveter" era. And that stuff, the politics of those eras, could put things in context alongside the action/war scenes, and still be relevant to modern audiences.

To be clear most said the concept art was of WW with World War One era looking Doughboys.

Seems like even if the begin in the distant path, the story can crisscross time periods...a great way to show character depth/age and add texture to Diana's stories. but yeah, whether the movie ends in the 1800s or modern times, something should segue big time into JL. Maybe a mystical artifact she found and then buried during Crimean war resurfaces for JL.

When done right, nonlinear storytelling can access plot points in innovative ways, even as the main story ultimately anchors into the 21st Century.
