We all know we have our favorite issues/series that hold a special place in our hearts...

But what about those that hold a special place in HELL? What books did you absolutely hate and would torch every copy of if given a choice? Was it "The End"? Or was it that issue of the Ultimate X-Men were Nightcrawler revealed himself to be a homophobe?

What issue really makes you want to projectile vomit blood?

For me?

It's the latter half of X-Treme X-Men. Right up to where Rogue and Gambit are stuck together via sword and about to die. After that teh entire series and their characters went to HIZELL and haven't come back.

As far as I'm concerned those issues should be burned.

LOL.

I don't think Whedon's "contract" counts.

Heh, definitely not; but that's how much I dislike him :D

I only caught the end of X-Treme X-Men :(

Did you projectile vomit? Get a migraine?

Were you overcome with a meth addiction from all that saccharine sweetness that was ROMY?

I did wonder why the hell I was reading this and remember thinking "Who the hell is Vargas?" for a few months.

At least Sage was "herself" back then. Wait....let's get that chick to use her jumpstarting powers on the mutant population. You know, as soon as she's done dickin around in England.

There's a thought.

I was always curious as to how the hell she could do that. It was like a random ability the damn writers just threw in X-Treme for little reason than to **** up other characters.

Sage was a living plot device for a looooong time. That tag team move she and Rogue did to repower Gambit made zero sense.

But it did inspire some pretty hot threeway PWP fanfiction.

Most of Claremont's work since the late 80s. And YES, that includes Extreme.

I'll admit, some it ain't that bad. It's just the worship pet character thingy that's just getting f****n creepy. Good God.

Other than that, I'd say, what, a good 1/3 or 1/2 of the 90s?

So what you're trying to say is...

Marvel ROXOR?

...Didn't I mention something to the effect of me hating X-Treme?

Now why would I associate any of it with ROXORness? :D

ROFLMAO.

Hey, I thought ROXOR was a sarcastic term, hmmm?

Actually, it's more about laughing at the state of mind of whatever fan we're mocking.

Anyone off-handedly saying the LOTR flicks ROCK gets a thumbs up from me. Hell, even the use of ROXOR is fine as long as it's not done *that* seriously.

Some brat going on about how a certain character is ROXOR and getting overenthusiastic about it deserve the metaphorical b*tchslap that is the 'OMG ROXOR' sarcasm.

And X-Treme sucked so bad I can't even figure out why anyone would think it rocks/roxor that much to start with.

Eh, I'd be up for killing off Astonishing.

It's because of the team though. The only character I find even grudgingly acceptable is Cyclops.

LOL.

I liked the beginning. Like...the first two TPBs. After that it goes down a bit in quality, but it doesn't go "****-creek" for me until the whole "Rogue prevents Remy from going to Heaven" thing. That just kinda killed the series for me. I did not like.

There is no smiley that can accurately depict the baffled look on my face when that happened. It made no sense.

*topples over laughing*Ok, now you reminded me...I only read Xtreme Xmen last year-yes, late, but I had been out of the loop for a couple of years-and the volume I got was actually the last one, the "Prisoner of Fire" storyline. So, I did number 2 of your questions above...got a migraine, I was so lost there!:pI liked the story, though, although I'll agree with you, now, aftrer having read my way through the whole series...the first part was better by really far!!!The whole Rogue pulling Gambit back for the very gates of Heaven had me blinking, at the very least!:oOf so many odd things happening in Xmen over the years...this was just a tad far-fetched...:p

The comicbook I'd like burnt...hmmmm...the Open Day storyline in NXM;hated that one!!

They need an "Exorcist" smiley for just these moments.

Planet X by Morrison. Hate, hate, hated it!!

Bob Harras. No, wait, he's not a book. Well, he should be burned anyway.

Honestly... I enjoyed x-treme. When they went back to X-mansion and ran into the new x-men team, and the second trade when that Kahn guy or whatever tried to take over the earth. I liked that. It moved so fast and the art was pretty, I found myself rereading that.

Now it's been a few years, so I don't know if I'd feel the same way but I did stop reading x-treme when Kordey either took over or did fill-ins for the art... ughh disgusting... He ruined New X-men too.
