Even though the second one flopped at the BO. http://www.xfilesnews.com/index.php...ript-underway&catid=25:recent-news&Itemid=106
Why would it need to be R to be scary though?the scary x-files episodes are the ones I enjoyed the most.
I would so love to see a R rated x-files horror movie with a monster that the fbi have to track down.

IMO, the scariest episodes were in the first five seasons. The later episodes never really impressed.
I think thats my favorite episode as well, its the one where Mulder is caught up in an armed siege by a works employee who is the only one who can see that the boss is a giant insect-like creature who has turned some of his co-workers into Zombies. Awesome episode. I did not even bother watching I Want to believe because i heard it was boring as hell...I've always enjoyed the supernatural/horror episodes of the X-Files myself.
My favorite episode of the X-Files was when this demonic insect I think it was posessing people. And only certain people could see it and eventually Mulder saw it himself. It was a great episode, very creepy, and unique too.
it worked because you didnt expect it to be funny since it was xfiles.my favorite opening of all time is when mulder and skully are chasing down a kid. they corner him and pounce, they pin him down and then to skully's surprise mulder pulls out a hammer and stake and then starts staking the kid through the heart. skully looks with horror at mulder, mulder then shows skully the kid's vampire teeth. skully taps at the teeth that come loose (they are fake cheap vampire teeth)

i was just a kid when x-files first aired. My whole family loved that show. i stayed up every friday night to watch it, even when it gave me nightmares. One of the things i enjoyed about the show was that it wasn't afraid to take a break from all the serious stuff and just make fun of its self. When Mulder left, I stopped watching the show, but I did catch a few episodes here and there, including the season finale.
I enjoyed the first movie, but felt cheated at the same time. It felt more like an extended episode and less like an actual movie experience. Ive been wanting to catch the second flick, though I dont know much about it. It seemed like it was a lost episode instead of an actual continuation of the series which kind of bothers me.

tehy did the movie for the paycheck.Fox squeezed all the life out of that great show, which should have ended long before it did.
And for the life of me I cannot understand why Chris Carter, and for that matter Duchovny and Anderson, felt that the story of the second film was the appropriate celebration of the show after years of being absent and finally returning. Of course, the incompetent marketing of the film too helped destroy a lot of the goodwill of the fans who would have loved to enjoy a true revival of the franchise.
We should not be wondering if a third film could be on the way, it should have been a certainty had those in charge taken the proper steps, and we as fans should have been rejoicing and anticipating, not wondering whether or not another X-files film would be worth it.
What's done is done. It is just very infuriating that many episodes of the show itself felt a lot better than the actual second movie, which should have gotten people excited about the X-files again. Maybe the ideas are not there anymore, and the well is dry.
