What are some of your favorite panels you'd like to see on screen?

I'd love seeing the X-Men pull rank on the Junior team.

Storm doing something like this would make me happy.

Big fan of X-MEN having hobbies

X-MEN?: Dark Phoenix is a November release, sooo Turkey Day scene at the end???

Uncanny308_Thanksgiving.jpg

Jean proposing to Cyclops at the end would be cool for a woman to do it instead a man. Especially in a movie with female villain

Maybe Jubilee & Beast messed up Storm's raking pile when trying she was trying to relieve her stress

I know it's Phoenix Saga and not Dark Phoenix but the X-MEN in the water at Jamaica Bay would be cool.

I know I likely wont see this because Emma isnt in this movie but I would love to see when the Hellfire Club captured the XMen and Emma is torturing Storm. When Jean finds her they have this epic psychic battle. I thin that would be a nice piece to add and it can get us some more insight into Ororo as well as her friendship with Jean.

Maybe Phoenix vs Oracle instead

Great find, seems like it will still be a great battle. I never read when the young XMen came back so I missed that storyline. I look forward to the XMen vs The Imperial Guard.

I love this thread. I wished people would use it more!

What I really want to see is some Jean Grey and Storm bonding time:

Jean Grey fully in control. Jean was the Phoenix a long time before she lost it:

Jean Grey flying in space eating a sun. I really want to see Jean enjoying herself diving through the cosmos and truly becoming Phoenix:

the Phoenix raptor in all its birdlike glory!

I like your post, i want Jean and Ororo's friendship touched on as well I thought it was cute that Jean was using TK to braid Storms hair lol. I really hope this is explored a bit more in the next film. I also want more of the fire raptor of course, just like in that picture you posted a big epic manifestation of the bird in all its fiery glory.

In my eyes, if they want to do the Dark Phoenix Saga right, they have to let Jean take her own life. No male like Wolverine or Cyclops fulfilling her wish. It must be Jean committing suicide and saving the universe from herself. I think that is central to give her agency. Otherwise the story will be very misogynistic.

I totally agree. X3 showed a fundamental misunderstanding of the storyline and characters with its lazy and sexist choice to have Wolverine kill Jean so that he can have man-pain.

These panels don't depict Cyclops killing Jean, if that's why you responded this way. This is a sliver of the Phoenix Force using Cyclops' solar powered beams to get a power boost so she can enter the White Hot Room. I think it's a touching goodbye between two characters with a lot of history and baggage, and I would not be opposed to something like this happening in the movie. As long as Jean has the agency in the situation.

Tbh the trope of a woman having too much power for her own good is still sexist.

Ah, I see. I always interpreted this scene as Cyclops actually destroying Jean's physical body again. I always understood the phrase "entering the White Hot Room" as Jean dying in the physical world and "transcending" into godhood becoming the Phoenix entirely and losing all her humanity. But in the end, it is still Cyclops destroying Jean's body...is it really so different from Wolverine using his claws?

The X3 scenario is Jean asking Wolverine to kill her because she's too powerful to live but too weak to die (garbage sexist trope). Jean/Jean's Ghost/Phoenix in Endsong is using Cyclops to transcend since he's basically the nearest sun, knowing she cannot be with him when she does this and saying goodbye. I see them as different, but perhaps I'm wrong. Jean's body isn't destroyed when she eats a sun, and that's essential what the Phoenix is doing in Endsong. If Jean has to die (which I don't think she will, nor do I want her to), then I guess I just want it to be as touching of a goodbye as Endsong.

I would love to see this panel re-imagined. Just to piss some people here off, I guess. lol And it is finally time that McAvoy and Fassbender kiss on screen!

X3 made no sense.. Why not inject her with the cure instead of stabbing her.. stupid Kinberg

lol so true. The cure was literally laying around everywhere on the floor. They successfully used the cure two minutes before on Magneto. But Wolverine preferred using his penis-claws...

I really want to see Jean Grey powerful and confident. I hope we get scenes like this:

No run captured Jean better than Morrison's New X-Men in my eyes. Jean is becoming her and slowly loses her humanity. I think this could be a very interesting take on the character.

Her special bond to Charles should also be deepened. I think they did a nice job with it in "X:A". Jean is Charles most prized student and having her slowly turning away from him could be a great character arc for both. Maybe they will come up with a conflict in philosophy. Jean acts as a vigilante and she stops to believe in peaceful co-existence? If you are a god why should you follow human ethics?

Hopefully it looks better on film than Igor Kordey's art. With Kinberg at the helm, without Singer and Ottman to help him out, I have my doubts.
