X-men Forum Debate #7: "The X-men as a TEAM"

I always thought it would have been cool if right before the team left for Alcatraz, they cut to a quick scene of Storm leaving Jubilee and Siryn in charge of the school until the team returrns

I agree. Rogue has never used her powers in an offensive manner. She's never been in a real battle though in X3, it would have come in useful. Especially if she attempted to use her powers on Phoenix...

The team rarely worked together and that is what sucked. I really wish they had more together scenes. Like when the Fantastic Four faced Doom in the end of part one and worked together. In this franchise, the only time they fought side by side was among the military...

Maybe there should be an X-Men 2.5, covering the months between X2 and X3. It could really show us Cyclops as a changed man, possibly revolve around the sentinels and hint at the cure that would appear in X3.

While they had awesome characters.. it all boiled down to Wolverine. They didn't feel like a team.

I agree with Lightning. They need to take a cue from FF. Sure, they only have 4 to work with, but looking at X3 they're only working with one. None of the younger members felt like they were part of a 'team'. Even Storm.. with as many new lines as she had, didn't feel as important as Wolverine.

That's because he is the one with 'most general appeal'. That's why the x-men are better suited to comics than large commercial scale movies which have to be made in a way that will have most appeal. Unfortunately :(

Unfortunately, this entire franchise can be boiled down to one man's journey...Logan. They should do a second trilogy bringing back Scott and Rogue and focusing on the team and NOT have Logan in it at all!

The actors schedules for X3 also hurt the team concept...That why X-Men need a reboot with younger actors and Fox needs to film 3 movies together like LOTR and focus on the team and not the super star actors

I don't mind recasting other roles, but I think James Marsden should remain in the Cyclops role as the older and more assertive leader...

Cyke was most a leader in X1 in my opinion but it went downhill after that.

I agree. Every time I see X1, I think of how it was introduction to more. But alas, it was the most we'd ever see of Cyclops... Bummer.

And Jimmy can really pull it off, if given the material to work with... I still think he was the best consistant actor in the series. His performances were real, and emotional, even behind those visors. Meanwhile, JAckman really hammed it up by the time X3 came around...

^I agree. The series was just a complete waiste and I hope Brett never touches another X-film until he dies.

I think he won't be doing another sequel. Probably Fox will search other director.

They need a director who loves the X-Men enough not to rape them, like what we have gotten so far

Horrible, horrible rapage. :(

what's rapage? hehe. Really, I'm spanish and can't translate it on any web.

I just they were plenty in X3, 6 is really like uhh so few.
