There have been so many events in x-men history where time travel has been involved. All the problems with depowering and all the deaths can be solved with one answer. Time travel. It would be awesome. There have been so many events in X-men history where time travel has been involved. They would also be able to introduce characters like forge, Gambit (and the relationship between those two) and cable and even characters such as appocolypse and onslaught. The only thing i could think that would be a huge problem is the price to make a film like this. It would so be worth it though.

Yea! I rly hope they do sumthin like that. It wud b so AWESOME!!!!! :)

Days of Future Past would be the perfect storyline for X4. If they're going to do any time traveling story, then it needs to be the classic - not one of the rip-offs.

I'm a huge fan of Cable, but with Scott dead and Maddie Pryor never introduced, it's rather pointless to bring in Cable and just make him a big guy with a gun rather than Nathan Christopher Summers.

As it is, I think they'd completely botch any involved stories dealing with time travel and the reprecussions there. They couldn't even do the Phoenix Saga justice. Additionally coming out of X3, Fox seems to think that these stories have to revolve around Wolverine and Storm, which would limit the types of stories (if any) they're willing to tackle and who they focus on. Personally, I could go for a revamp of the series (possibly after Marvel gets the rights back). We might get some more imaginative and even-handed stories.

I thought Cable was Jean and Scott's son. Is that guy Cable on the 1st post?

Cable is the son of Scott and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean). That's Bishop in the first post.

This is Cable (Nathaniel Christopher Summers)

:xmen: They never completely showed scott dying so he could be alive and they could introduce Maddie in the next one---- once again -- time travel allows you to introduce characters from different time period at the same time. :xmen:

I would be really happy if Cyclops & Cable would fight Apocalypse in X4, but I don't think that it will happen because we know how Zak Penn & Simon Kinberg thinks, they will probably make Cable as the son of Wolverine in the future.:( :down

:xmen: would be so pissed if they did that:xmen:

time travel could actually show all the events in the last stand eventually get ret-conned giving implications to the rest of the team that scott, xavier, and jean all make it back...

besides, magneto has been hogging the film, i don't think any villain deserves 3 films in a row....especially with big guns like apocalypse out there...

although to kill two birds with one stone, i would say that bishop and cable come from the same timeline and work alongside one another against apocalypse...

If time travel is used to bring back Cyclops and Jean etc, then what's the point of X3? What are you suggesting that we just pretend like X3 never happened?

:xmen: I wouldnt be opposed to it- however, they wouldnt have to use it to explain their deaths because we all know that pheonix comes back from the dead in the comic books and they never actually show scott dying so..........:xmen:

Yes they never show Scott die so there's still hope.

not necessarily...

jean's body has died before and her mind still existed within the shell, it can happen again...

and there's no confirmation that cyclops is actually dead.

there are more than enough loop holes in x3 to make such a plot potentially feasible plus it also brings hope to other viewers to see how they tackle both jean and scott being 'resurrected' in future films (if they even choose to go down that line in the movie franchise)...

besides, with a time travellers it gives the writers to drop the names of pretty much any x-man under the sun and shoot off multiple geekasms into the audience that we all love. Imagine if Cable asked if gambit is here, and everyone goes 'Who's gambit' then he goes nevermind....

you'd wet yourself, honestly....

:o

exactly and besides, only fans will really know what's going on as well as potentially one telepath who sees it but doesn't actually mention anything that would put off either new viewers or those who weren't previosly aware of him.

it's be the best film ever....trust me....

It would be but they may lose fans that dont know whats goin on ----so would they risk it? i dont think so, it's unfortunate

Sure, why the hell not? Toss in time travel, demons, death and resurrection, a trip to the Microverse, and.... how about... Loki? Dressed as a Teletubbie.

Do you really think that they would resurrect Jean in another film? Once is enough in my opinion. Been there, done that.

Instead of reviving Jean and how she deals with the "loss" of Cyclops and fitting in with the X-Men and all that, why not introduce new characters who could really benefit from the extra screentime? They could use the extra time to develop their stories and backgrounds, instead of a quick cameo.

And then re-introduce Jean in a later film... if there was one...

this makes alot of sense, however i still wouldnt be opposed to some mention of time travel.

I honestly don't like the time travel idea...I don't know, it's just so unrealistic. I like things to be more concrete.

:xmen: Because people being torn apart by someones mind and people shooting lasers out of their eyes and a man being able to control magnetism is beleivable---just saying............:xmen:

It would be like another back to the future but with people fighting and having cool powers :o. do we really need another time travel film?
