EXT. SENTINEL FACILITY – SAME TIME
Storm is being ganged up on by both Gambit and Callisto. She is unable to catch the message, until she manages to break the battle, her eyes going white, both Gambit and Callisto fall to the ground unconscious.
STORM
How’s it feel to get the wind knocked out of you?
Storm presses her com in her ear.
STORM
What was that, Scott. I was a little tied up?
CYCLOPS
(V.O.)
Get everyone ready. The sentinels are gonna attack. Both mutants and humans are gonna be in danger.
Storm begins to fly off when she’s grabbed by the foot by Callisto, who has recovered from having her air supply cut off.
CALLISTO
We’re not done yet sister.
Callisto sends Storm flying onto the ground with a throw. Gambit stands and smiles.
GAMBIT
Mind if I cut..
Gambit is suddenly snatched from above in the air, by Rogue. He looks up at her.
ROGUE
Cut in? I'd be happy to.
Storm stands and looks to Rogue.
STORM
I owe you one.
Callisto and Storm eye each other as if a quick draw is about to happen.
CALLISTO
You ready?
STORM
Move out of my way, innocent people will die if you don't.
CALLISTO
And I care?
STORM
Listen to me, listen to my reasonings.
CALLISTO
You're wasting time.
STORM
Then so be it.
Callisto rushes forward into battle. Storm takes flight above the ground, her eyes turning white. Suddenly, drops of hail are appearing in the neighboring area, they begin to pound onto the ground around Callisto hitting her. She grunts as they fall and she tries to make her way towards Storm.
STORM
(into com)
Logan? Kurt? Hank? Anyone?
EXT. SENTINEL FACILTY – ANOTHER AREA – SAME TIME
Beast is seen in a growling tussle with another beast, Sabretooth. Beast propels himself off Sabretooth's chest with a climbing kick. Sabretooth stumbles back into Emma who is busy fighting robots in diamond form with Wolverine and Cecilia by her side. She sucker punches him in the cheek and they begin to go at it as Beast grabs his com.
BEAST
Yes, Ororo. I hear you. The sentinels? Yes. I'll prepare everyone.
BEAST
EVERYBODY HEADS UP. IT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN.
Iceman and Pyro stop their fight to see the first of the Sentinel units arriving in the area flying overhead..
ICEMAN
Oh boy. These guys again.
PYRO
You're too late to stop this, Bobby.
ICEMAN
Oh, would you just shut up already?
Iceman freezes Pyro's mouth shut with an ice blast, and begins to punch him from the left and the right in the head with frozen fists. They pass Jubilee and Nightcrawler who are teaming up together to fight Sinister's optical robots. Nightcrawler bamfing robots into Jubilee's firework blast. Gambit comes flying into the frame having been dropped from above by Rogue, who quickly swoops down and punches him upwards. The sentinels land in the far background and Wolverine looks up at them.
SENTINEL #1
Sentinel Unit Alpha 95b reporting for duty in Washington Area. All detectable signatures, mutant or human to be eradicated.
WOLVERINE
Well, that is just wonderful. Could this day get any better?
Emma knocks out Sabretooth with a headbutt and reverts back to her natural form to look at the sentinel's approaching.
EMMA
Would it be in poor taste to make a joke at this moment?
Cecilia gives her a look as she finishes off a robot.
EMMA
I thought so.
Angel swoops down from the air and lands besides them.
ANGEL
Luckily, Essex's robots are dwindling in number and this guy...
Angel kicks the knocked out Sabretooth.
ANGEL
is done for.
WOLVERINE
Yeah, but there are still some pretty big pawns in the fray before we can even tackle the grey and purple giants.
Cecilia looks nervously at the sentinels.
CECILIA
I'll help Bobby out with his friend.
Cecilia runs off in the direction of Pyro and Iceman as Beast joins his fellow X-Men.
EMMA
Do you think Scott?
WOLVERINE
Needs help? Nah, he'll be fine and I think Rogue's handling the cajun pretty well.
Nightcrawler and Jubilee bamf into the scene together.
BEAST
Good of you to join us.
WOLVERINE
So, we ready for this?
JUBILEE
Born ready.
NIGHTCRAWLER
Will these things find the jet and the children?
BEAST
(growls)
Not a chance.
Kitty and Colossus join the group. As the sentinels draw closer, the small group of X-Men (Angel, Wolverine, Kitty, Colossus, Beast, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, and Emma) line up as a small team. Nightcrawler clutches onto his rosery as he murmurs a prayer.
CUT TO:
INT. NEWSROOM – SAME TIME.
A female newsreporter is reporting on the news.
FEMALE NEWSREPORTER
A great deal of chaos has broken out all over the United States as Sentinel units have begun to attack both human and mutant alike.
She sighs.
FEMALE NEWSREPORTER
In what could be the darkest day in human history......unusual heroes are coming to our aid.
CUT TO:
INT. SAN FRANSICO - MALL - SAME TIME.
Sentinels are attacking a mall when a blur of fire shoots across the screen towards them. A young red headed woman is surrounded by flames as she flies. This is ANGELICA JONES or as fans know her FIRESTAR. She shoots a microwave blast out at the sentinels to cease their attack.
CUT TO:
EXT. LOS ANGELES – SAME TIME
A young 12 year old brunette girl stands with her parents beside a brand new car in a parking lot when a sentinel swoops down and claims a nearby girl. The girl gets angry at this.
GIRL
PUT HER DOWN!
She snatches up the brand new car and throws it towards the sentinel. Her parents look on at this as she falls out and on to the ground, tired. The sentinel drops the girl safely and falls off balance.
MOTHER
Molly...Molly, are you alright?
FATHER
Alice, come on. Let's get out of here.
The mother snatches who we now know is MOLLY HAYES up and run.
CUT TO:
EXT. NEW YORK CITY – SAME TIME
A paniced crowd in Times Square begins to run from approaching sentinels, while cops usher them onward. One cop, an African American sees a small child crying as a sentinel's hand looms down to
grasp the child. He rushes forward and manages to grab the child first. He puts her in the hands of her mother and is then hit by the blast himself. It is almost like the blast absorbs into him. He stands as the child and her mother look on in fear.
COP
Go! NOW!
He turns around and growls a menacing smile at the sentinel.
COP
That was a dumb mistake.
His hands glow with the energy as a blast begins to form. We now realize that this is LUCAS BISHOP or BISHOP.
CUT TO:
INT. NEWSROOM – SAME TIME
The female newsreporter sighs again.
FEMALE NEWSREPORTER
In our time of need, the ones we once fought so long to supress our becoming our saviors, and let me be the first reporter to say this....mutants we thank you.
EXT – SENTINEL FACILITY – SAME TIME.
The lined up X-Men begin to get in fighting poses as the sentinels have grown in number.
JUBILEE
Who's for a bathroom break?
Jubilee nervously laughs.
WOLVERINE
Let's rip these suckers to shreds!
Wolverine charges into battle.
