Rogue, Iceman, Shadowcat (let's see some codenames, damnit!), Colossus, Angel, Jubilee, and Havok. It could work. Give them a teacher like Emma Frost, Banshee, or Dani Moonstar, and we're in business.

Also Lorna would be interesting. The X-Men would probably treat her with suspicion after Mageto's actions.

An Emma Frost spin-off? Can that even be categorized as a "spin-off" since she didn't appear in the trilogy at all? Usually when I think of spin-off projects, the basis is to focus on an aspect of the original source material. Yet Emma isn't part of the original material. Ugh.

Honestly, I don't think any non-team spin off project is going to do well besides a Wolverine movie. It sounds as if McKellan would have a limited role in a Magneto solo film, which is bad to begin with because he's a great actor who owns that role, but even so I'm not sure there would be enough general audience interest in a film on that character alone.

They shouldn't waste Emma Frost on a solo film, I don't think she has enough material to carry one. I'd prefer her as a supporting character or a member of the Hellfire Club in an X-Men movie.

They should do X4 instead of Young X-Men.

Screw that and give me Gambit. I would damn surprised if Gambit doesn't show up any of the spin-offs...

oh this is so stupid...an emma frost movie...i don't even want to see a magneto movie...what are they doing? I don't care if Ian is in it, it'll be a mistake...if one spin off bombs then it kills the entire franchise...an X-kids type movie sounds like X4 to me...without them saying it. Emma Frost...I laugh at all X spin offs. hmph! They were talkin about a Wolverine spin off after X2...that one doesn't surprise me...but who knows whats gonna happen with that.

I read online that according to Wizard's April magazine, Arad mentioned that the plans for spin-off movies at that point were:

Wolverine
Magneto
and Rogue, which is in fact the current name for the X-Kids film.

Wolverine will deal with flashbacks in Logan's life from before he had adamantium, and up to the point where he met Rogue in X-Men 1. Hugh Jackman is signed up for this role.

Magneto obviously deals with the villain's past, and dealings with the early X-Men possibly. Ian McKellan is supposedly signed on for this.

Rogue's movie will feature Rogue, Gambit, Iceman, Kitty, Jubilee , and Colossus... and will deal with these younger X-Men and their daily lives... there will be battles and fight scenes, but not on epic proportions like the other X-Men films. It will set up for the next X-Men series of sequels.

hopefully Arad's statement about these films will come true- I'd love to see the Rogue movie be made, for the fact that Rogue will probably get her real powers, and Gambit and Jubilee are scheduled to co-star in it. Awesome if it comes true.

im not sure how much truth is behind that... any links? i have a hard time believing that rogue would get a spin off considering x3

An X-Kids movie is basically X4. That's who is left. Jean's gone, Scott's gone, Professor's (kinda) gone...The only 2 senior X-Men left are Wolverine and Storm. I'm sure Storm would have a role in an X-Kids movie, even if she's just a teacher. Halle will be the only high-dollar cast member and she would add some legitimacy to the movie. Logan might even pop in for a quick second, but he's got his own movie, so it's not like we're being deprived of Wolverine. X-Kids will show how the youngsters are growing into adults and learning how to use their powers better. With Iceman, Rogue, Kitty, Colossus, Angel, maybe a young Gambit and Jubilee, an X-Kids film will be just fine. It'll just set up the next series. If that film does well, we'll get a whole new batch of X-Films for years.

I'm not interest in the x-kids movie because of Zak Penn. Wolverine and Magneto might be good, but after X3 I'm not expecting anything.
