X-Men: The Last Stand - Score Discussion Thread

Dunno if there's a thread for this or not.

Anyways, the soundtrack album came out today. I took a listen to some samples at work (I work at a record store).

The opening theme sounds really good. There's a nice little build up, before that 30 second clip that we already have.

The music when Jean rises actually sounds pretty emotional. It should be some pretty good stuff on screen.

Because I was busy working, I didn't get a chance to listen to too much. That's about all I really got to hear. I skimmed some other tracks, but didn't listen too closely. Overall, the score sounds pretty good though.

Although, I might rate it the worst of the 3.

It depends on how big of a fan you are of movie scores.

X2 had a great score, so did the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but I didn't buy any of those, just because I don't buy scores.

I'd say from the bit that I've heard, it's probably the worst score of the 3. So if you didn't find the other 2 worth buying, I wouldn't buy this one.

BTW, that's not to say it's a bad score. I did rather like what I heard...

I'd need to hear a little bit more though, I didn't have much time, like I said, I was at work, and had other matters to attend to.
