i have a question guys/gals

I got the xbox360, the one that is 20gb with no HDMI. How can i get 1080p quality? I'm using the component cables that the system came with, but i here something about a VGA or something cable, what does that do?

I use a VGA cable for my 360 and its great!!! You can only get 1080p via VGA with the hd-dvd add on last time I checked.

From what I understand:

You can get 1080p from component just fine, unless you're wanting to use the HD DVD add-on to upconvert a DVD to 1080p. In that case you have to use HDMI, DVI (which isn't an option for the XBOX 360), or (I think) VGA.


...could be wrong, but I think that the 1080p-through-component is only limited when upconverting.

Here's an easy way to calculate 20%:

Start off with 100% -> $180
move the decimal point to the left one digit to get 10% -> $18.0
double 10% to get 20% -> $36

So $36 off of $180 would be $144+tax

Not a bad deal at all, especially considering you're getting 6 HD DVDs and a universal remote with it!
