You Do Your Annoying, Unorthodox Thing That You Do In The Wrestling Thread

Wow.... and since when does the ref hold the challenger back until the champ is ready to fight!?? Stupid. That's the whole point, to catch him off guard. How many cash ins where we saw them ring the bell quicker than that and guys were out cold. Daniel Bryan when Big Show was out cold. Whatever fits their script I guess, id like to at least keep it consistent. Just stupid all around.

It's selctive. I think I've only seen a ref do that once or twice. I've got no problem if WWE wants to make that idea canon here on out, but make up your mind about how something works and stick to it.

I'm still not sold on Corbin so I don't hate what happened. It will advance the stakes in his feud with Cena which long term could do more for his career than a premature championship run. Hopefully Corbin runs with it.

I quite liked that ending. That means if Nakamura wins this weekend, it will be legit.

My only problem with it is that Corbin could have cashed in well after WrestleMania and didn't need to be champion in a Sunday or never situation. I don't get why WWE can't just build a guy up and have him win sometimes. They usually have to make a guy look like crap one way or another while holding the case. Either he loses a lot before he wins the championship or he doesn't cash in successfully. It's less about Corbin himself and more about how MITB winners are chumps who hardly ever seam like the company believes in them during their run as Mr. MITB or their title reign immediately following the cash in. I mean besides Edge and Del Rio WWE doesn't invest much time in building MITB winners.

I read that Jinder's character is supposed to be babyface in India and heel in the U.S which is why he is portrayed how he is.

The ending was, weird. I mean Baron failing in his cash in because of Cena's interference was a possibility that I considered. But I figured that they'd do it at SS.

So Becky gets a "big win" over Charlotte, and then proceeds to lose (via tap out no less) to Natalya here. Still waiting for that "big payoff" that some people still insist is coming.

So the only two women on SD who don't have a confirmed storyline right now, are Becky and Charlotte. WOW that's sad.

I get that Jinder is a heel, but booing the Indian National Anthem. I wasn't fond of that.

I missed the ending of Smackdown and just read the results.

THAT is a dumb Money in the Bank cash-in. Sorry, but if you don't think that Corbin is ready to be champ, then give the case to someone who is.

I think Corbin is okay, but I like Braun Strowman better. Strowman's feud with Roman has been great. Corbin hasn't had any type of feud like that.

TBH, Charlotte not being in a storyline right now is a good thing for her & WWE. It lets her be with her father and prevents the need for WWE to scramble around and rebuild the storyline she'd have been in if she had one atm.

This. Her father's health is more important than some poorly booked WWE Storyline.

Is there any news on Ric?

The latest update on Ric Flair

Published on August 16, 2017

A source close to the situation has informed PWInsider that Ric Flair did not have colon surgery, as originally reported by Gene Okerlund on Facebook. The source said that Flair did have surgery but the family has not publicly disclosed what kind of surgery.
Flair is still dealing with a number of issues and things are still serious as he remains in critical condition. Again, we wish that there was better news to report but Flair seems to be hanging in there so hopefully, things take a turn for the better within the next few hours and days.
Charlotte Flair was not booked for SummerSlam but is scheduled for SummerSlam week events in New York City. Obviously, that is the last thing on her mind and right now I would bet that she will not be at any WWE-related events while her father is still hospitalized.

Ziggler has been off TV for a while. I guess the WWE is waiting for the heat to die down from his brother's guilty murder plea.

WTF??? This is the first i'm hearing about that...

Thanks for the update THUNDERSTRIKE :)

The whole let's separate this two monsters with security and half our roster shtick that WWE does with Brock Lesnar is getting stale. They did it when Brock feuded with Taker and they did the same thing with Brock and Braun (which sounds like an awesome tag team name).

Umm what?

Brother of WWE wrestler Dolph Ziggler pleads guilty in deadly Cleveland hotel shooting

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Two men, including the brother of professional wrestler Dolph Ziggler, pleaded guilty Friday in the 2016 killing of a Marine Corps veteran during a botched drug robbery at a Cleveland hotel.
Donald Nemeth, 30, and Jack King, 52, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and kidnapping charges in the Jan. 23, 2016 slaying of Joshua Mascol at the University Hotel and Suites on Euclid Avenue.
Judge Shannon Gallagher will sentence both men Aug. 28 in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Nemeth was ordered to wear an ankle monitor on home detention until his sentencing.
Nemeth and King were set to stand trial Monday on charges including aggravated murder. Both faced possible sentences of life in prison if convicted.
Cuyahoga County prosecutors had asked the judge to bar Nemeth's lawyers from mentioning his brother Nicholas Nemeth, a two-time WWE World Heavyweight champion known by the ring name Dolph Ziggler, during a trial. The relationship was irrelevant to the case, and bringing it up would draw jurors' focus away from the evidence, Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Zachary Humphrey argued.
Lawyers for Donald Nemeth and King also asked for separate trials, because they blamed each other in statements to investigators. Defense attorneys argued they could not adequately defend themselves if they were prosecuted together.
Nemeth and King tried to rob Mascol, 34, during a drug deal at the hotel. A scuffle broke out, and Mascol was shot three times in a hallway, prosecutors said.
Hotel surveillance cameras helped investigators identify Nemeth and King, who were arrested and charged several months later.

Thanks Thunderstrike. Hope he goes away a long time.

Tyrus is not going to be at the next set of Impact tapings because he is not happy with how he has been used lately. He says 99.9% of his time in TNA has been positive and good, but the last few sets of tapings he feels creatively handcuffed and believes he has earned a little freedom.

Honestly, even though he's not a great wrestler, he's kind of right.

They've been so desperate for attention lately they've been bringing in the mayor of Orlando, washed up MMA fighters, radio station DJs, free agent NFL players, etc but there's a crossover star right there on their roster.

Tyrus has had visible roles in Preacher (AMC) and GLOW (Netflix) this year, and appeared in two independent films. This in addition to his regular appearances as an analyst and commentator on multiple Fox News programs.

He's certainly no Dave Bautista but he's a bigger star than the people Jarrett has been trotting out there to get attention by a longshot.

Hopefully we will hear the sentence "Ric Flair has been released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home" by the weekend.

He has an ESPN 30 for 30 coming up in November. We all hope he'll be healthy enough to promote it.

If things go really bad for Ric, Charlotte may not be on TV for a while.
