LOL!! I was just saying to a friend that the grossest match at WM will be Orton in his itty-bitty skivvies against Punk and his even smaller skivvies.

Christian vs. Edge vs. Del Rio at Wrestlemania 27? For the World Heavyweight Championship? If it actually does happen, I'll be wasting 50 bucks for Wrestlemania 27.

Perhaps after the match, if one of them is World Champion (Christian please) maybe they'll do a five second pose.

...Del Rio's are fairly itty-bitty too......

...WOW...I'd never thought I'd comment on the size of someone's trunks...

What a stupid battle to begin with. They want to head into Wrestlemania with that kind of publicity. Yes you are a global media company but you produce wrestling not 'entertainments'.

I didn't even think of that. Makes WWE's complaining sound even worse. Next time a similar situation comes up I hope the other party points out what you did.

:wow: at David Otunga's Woman.

He's been with her since before the wight loss and now she looks incredible.

Yup, even more pissed I missed that show last night now.

That must of been one helluva surprise. The last time I went to a house show or 'entertainment' we got a rare Ricky Steamboat vs Sheamus (this was 09 and Sheamus was relatively unknown).

They're asking for it ... This new campaign is just going to give the media another reason to condescend wrestling and it's fans.

So I just started watching The 6th Day and it's been awhile but they start out showing an XFL match lol

Good and even better.

Also saw pics of Sunny refereeing at a msg raw house show this weekend. maybe she'll get added to the snooki match.

i never understood this stance i love character and story too but without delivering in the ring i feel i wasted by time investing in a storyline and the characters

it is like watching a bad ass movie trailer only to have the movie be mediocre

yes the style is nice and all but lacks the substance

I disagree.

Since it's all scripted and not legitimate athletic competition, I cannot get behind the match at hand if there is not a good story behind it. Using the analogy of a movie, I look at it as a movie that has great action sequences (matches), but there's absolutely no plot or character development to invest in. Yea, the action pieces (matches) are nice, but really, it's meaningless and there's nothing there for you to care about.

Touching on a couple other things - adding Christian to the Edge v. Del Rio match makes me a happy Nell. I've kinda been hoping for it from the get go.

Also, glad to hear that Triple H v. Undertaker isn't streak vs. career.

Oh, and on the subject of whether WWE is a wrestling company or not...

I agree with both sides of the argument. WWE IS more than just a wrestling company at this point. It is just as much "entertainment" as it is "wrestling".

That said, the "wrestling" is part of the "entertainment". I think it was Metallo that said the wrestling is the backdrop for the entertainment, and that's the truth.

I look at WWE as live theatre. The set piece is the ring. The plot line is about wrestlers, and their competition. I want the entertainment, but I want it based on wrestling. While it sounds like WWE is just trying to say that they are more than just a wrestling company, to get so up in arms over being called a wrestling company is ridiculous. Like someone else said, we obviously want to see these guys wrestling, otherwise The Marine would have been a huge hit.

So I'm going to Wrestlemania (the culmination of a dream that I've had since I was 7). Anybody else going?

I have to lean towards Project's POV. The most important part of any wrestling feud is what happens in the ring. It isn't just a sequence, it is the climax. Being able to tell an in-ring story can make or break weeks of booking.

This is the reason I can enjoy Japanese or Mexican wrestling without knowing anything about the backstory or even what the commentators are saying. The wrestlers don't have the restraints put on them like WWE does their talent. They try to put on something spectacular every time and they tell a story with their bodies.

Every single match has a built in story...to move up the card to better position oneself for a title match. Prelim matches that don't otherwise have a story are following this concept.

I regularly rant about WWE putting 90% of their talent in shiny underwear. I miss the days when most wrestlers wore pants, singlets, or some type of body suit. I get really, really tired of close-up shots of nuthuggers. Gross.:cmad:

ok so if taker/HHH is now not streak vs career, who should end the king of kings reign.

and be honest who makes the most sense don't just pick your fav to end the big bad bully's career

thats how i feel you can have the greatest storyline and intriguing characters but if the climax is complete crap then i feel lie i wasted by time on weeks maybe months of build up

much like randy/hhh at WM - awesome build and characters but terrible match that just sucks the life out of the feud

but i do believe you need both to be good but if i had to choose 1 i would rather have a great match then a great promo

I haven't read anything that said he wasn't. He was holding his right side where he landed when coming to and leaving the ring after congratulating Eddie. Davey was moving noticeably slow, and rightfully so after that spot.

Glad he's ok, now I can chuckle at the irony, maybe Mr 'I'm a real wrestler' should stick to 15 head drops for his finishing routine from now on.

Exactly, a good feud without a good match is like reading a good book with a crap ending, and it hurts business.

Take a look at the huge Sting vs Hogan feud, the build up was epic, however despite the PPV doing WCW's best buyrate ever, the poor match led to a subsequent drop off in both ratings and buyrates.

On the other hand you can have a great match without a big storyline.

this goes back to what Nell said....the WWE is about the story, drama, and characters more than anything else...

if I want "wrestling", Ill start watching ROH

I don't get this, if I want drama and good acting I watch shows like Dexter and Castle. The acting in wrestling is mostly rank and the angle's illogical and hokey.

Sure it's great to see an angle that plays like the one between HBK and Jericho, but I wouldn't still be watching WWE if it were the angles that drew me and not good matches, because frankly most of the angles in the last 2 years have sucked IMO.

I actually never took the time to notice, but do most new guys who come on wear trunks now?

Shaddup.

Anyhoo, dunno if this was posted or not, but:

Source: WrestlingNewsSource.com

Source are indicating that WWE Superstar Christian is expected to be added to the SmackDown World Heavyweight Championship Match between Edge and Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania.

That's the best thing they can do for that match.Makes it better and Christian deserves it.
