The Batman series can go on. And I dont think it has to follow C. Nolan's storyline either. Really they could just reboot it again. They should treat the Batman series like the James Bond series, because Batman has too many stories, perspectives, interpretations and Graphic Novels to just stop at any one trilogy. I think people should look at the Batman movie as separate trilogies. After Nolan does a 3rd Batman, someone could come after him, say Frank Miller, and do 3 stories of his with his OWN "blue screen" movie style (Sin City, 300, The Spirit). He could do a Dark Knight Returns movie or any of his other stories. There are plenty directors who I would like to see take a crack at Batman, I would love to see the W. Bros take on Batman, David Cronenberg, Del Toro, etc., all those guys could make excellent Batman movies. I don't think the series should end with Christopher Nolan.

Re-boot it...again? :lmao:

You really think they'll re-boot a cash cow after all the records TDK has, and will continue to break?

Come on now, get real!

I would agree to a point but when a director set him self out for a 3 movie deal or even a one shot he should have some closure.

To be honest I flat out love the way Nolan has handled Batman and this is coming from an older fan that has seen lots of different Batman's. So I would want to see some sort of continuity. IMO it would be hard to leave Nolans Batman and go to a dumbed up Batman directed by McG.

As long as DC doesnt get trigger happy with that reset button the way Marvel has- Hulk & punisher.

At this point, we should all fear the 'third superhero movie curse'. It happened to Blade, X-Men, Spidey and i'm fearing Batman will be next.

If Nolan doesn't come back, i will bet my left testicle that the third movie will be terrible.

It seems to me that studios get sloppy with the third movie. They don't put any effort into making it as great. They want to suddenly change up the formula that worked for the first two movies; that's exactly what happened with the movies i mentioned above.

If something isn't broke; don't fix.

After the success of TDK, i believe the studio will be inclined to give Nolan anything he asks for to return. I just hope, as it was in the case with Raimi and SM3, they don't give him so much rope that he hangs himself with it...figuratively speaking.

Well, as great as TDK was, and as much as I loved it, I still think he's not irreplaceable. If he won't come back, there are lots of incredibly talented directors who could pick up from where he left.

Of course, there'd probably be a drop in quality from TDK, that's to be expected but if they do it right (meaning, the right people with the necessary amount of time; DON'T RUSH IT), it doesn't have to be X3 bad.

Honestly, I'm just hoping Batman 3 breaks the Superhero third movie curse. It's happened to all the five comic films to have a third movie. Also the Batman curse, as well. (Director only completing two Bat films) not to mention I want to see Bale portray Batman more than twice (Thus, beating the other curse)

I think these guys wouldn't make a third unless they thought it could be done justice.

The Batman will be taken over by someone else after these guys but it might not be as good. Either way I'll be happy with my Nolan trilogy.

I'd definitely prefer whoever succeeds them to come after Nolan finishes a trilogy (just to end this story arc), but I can easily think of a few guys who can do Nolan justice, be it obvious choices like Fincher or Aronofsky or more unorthodox ones like Park Chan-Wook or Fernando Meirelles.

Is that what happened with SM3? I thought that the studio forced Raimi to include characters that he didn't want.

I actually completely trust the Nolans with this. They seem to have a respect for these iconic characters while making some changes, kind of like the animated series. I love the tone of this series so far and its something that I really don't see Nolan changing.

Love him... Sympathy for the Bat would be so badass. Batman (with hammer) vs. Bane

Park Chan Wook would be a very interesting choice for Batman... but if it were up to me, I'd rather have him visit the other hero of Gotham City: Simon Dark. Perfect match.
