You know it's true: The Watchmen 2 Thread

I'm starting to being able to resist. Knowing that Cooke has another Parker adaptation right around the corner helps a lot.

It's just... Drawyn Cooke. Delightful pulpy adventures.

I'm going to break down and read it in the store.

Still not buying it though. :o

I'll be tempted to pick up the trade but this sort of thing even it's good for business overall dilutes the idea that comics can be a serios medium for art.

Watchmen is seen as a great literary work, it's required reading for a lot of college courses i mean. I mean you don't see many "Before Moby Dick" or "Animal Farm:The early years".

But Silhouette is calling to me Watchman :csad:

I don't know if I can resist her sapphic siren song :ninja:

Damn it! Lesbian superheroes drawn by Darwyn Cooke is pretty much your kryptonite.

Man, Mysti will shat a house if he turns her straight.

Don't even joke about that Womp :csad:

Darwyn Cooke isn't a bigot there's no way he'd ever do something that horrible

Also that's quite a mental image you just gave me :ninja:

Damn it! Lesbian superheroes drawn by Darwyn Cooke is pretty much your kryptonite.

And just look at her there

All bad ass and sexy ready to have adventures and seduce nurses

There's no way I can resist ass kicking lesbians Watchman

Forgive meeeeee :csad:

It doesn't help that she's being modeled after The Shadow and is duel wielding a .45 and a combat knife.

She's gonna shoot a ***** and knife a *****. :csad:

I really wish they just got Matt Greoning to make Watchamn Babies in: V for Vacation.

That, incidentally, should be what the thread title is changed to.

I would support Groening making it; but, only after the Frying of Latke 49...voiced by Pynchon, no less.

It's going to take time but I think I can eventually forgive you.

I would have bought 100 copies and I bet Alan Moore would approve of it.

And look utterly gorgeous and amazing while she does it :atp:

End of May. Which means that I'll be reading the first two to refresh myself. Which means that I'll have no time to waste on these Watchmen comics.

I really have no interest in these. Most of the disinterest has to do with the fact that, despite loving Cooke, Azzarello and the other creative talents on these books, none of them come close to writing and using language the way Alan Moore does. And for that, I fear that these will probably read like generic comics, regardless of how good they actually are.

I just bought the entire 12 issue original series today for $50, all in great condition :awesome:

**** you, Alan Moore. I'm getting this.

If it was some hack doing it I can see how we can whine. But Cooke....you can't really say anything bad about it.

Indeed, not only Cooke but freakin Azzarello is on this. When is it coming out again?

I don't see it as shameful. While DC should have renegotiated their deal with Moore on an ethical standpoint, you can't blame them for wanting to capitalize on Watchmen. I also find the theory that Moore was screwed over to be complete and total nonsense. Neither Moore nor DC could have forseen how big Watchmen should have been. While DC should have given Moore more of a financial stake with the property, to expect them to just give it up is ludicrous. And Moore knew what he was getting into, hell, back then it was considered to be one of the most progressive creator deals of the time.
