You know it's true: The Watchmen 2 Thread

Comedian was pretty good, although I was fairly thrown by the ending although the movie is probably what I'm thinking about in regards to JFK

Silk Spectre was a decent read, but those weird cutaways of Laurie's thoughts just didn't fit right in.

Comedian was another good read. Kinda funny reading it and thinking about the movie.

Same problem here. I have not read it since the movie came out. I just finished watching the ultimate cut of the movie before I started reading the new stuff. Threw me for a curve too. Still, I'm impressed with Before Watchmen, so far. I hope it continues to impress!

Ozymandis was amazing, just amazing.

I loved Ozymandis issue as well. Adrian makes Batman look lazy and unambitious.

Yeah I was like wow, I want to see a TV show based on those years in his life.

Just caught up with the Nightowl issue. One of my favorites so far.

So I finally got a chance to read these. The Nite Owl one was weird at times and the projections a bit forced but the other ones were ok. The one about Veidt is definitely the best one though. I loved how as soon as tragedy came for him it only took him minutes and not hours or days to regain his composure lol.

So far i think Minutemen, Nite Owl and Ozymandias have been the best of these Before Watchmen series :)

I have read all exept the Ozymandias one, but i've been liking them a lot.

I've been liking Minutemen a lot, and aparently there's going to be a Moloch 2 issues special, i wonder if there's going to appear another villain besides Moloch.

Nite-Owl, Ozymandias and Dr Manhattan. My local comic store still hasn't gotten Rorshach in much to my dismay but yea the others have been great.

So far I'm really enjoying all of these series. Ozymandias might've been the one I was least looking forward to, and might be the best of the bunch. The writing's ranged from decent to great, but the art has really shined in all of them. I haven't been reading the Crimson Corsair though. Figured I'd wait until the event is deep enough so I can read them straight through.

Read the new issue of Minutemen

Silhouette is my favouritest character in the Watchmen universe now. She'sa kick ass lesbian hero both bad ass and the most heroic of the whole team unlike the collection of freaks, losers, fame seeking morons and incompetents she has the misfortune to be surrounded by. I wish she had been one of the Minutemen who survived instead of scum and trash like the Comedian or Rorscarch

Dollar Bill is a bigoted dbag and I'm now very glad he's going to be killed off in the most humiliating way possible. I hope we get to see the bit where this piece of trash loser gets his cape caught in a revolving door and gets shot full of holes...I'll be laughing my head off

Nite Owl is the other character i like. Though he cant be very bright as he's literally the only one on the team who doesn't know Silhouette is a lesbian. Even when he meets her girlfriend he still doesnt work it out. But apart from being dense Hollis seems nice :)

What you did there....I see it.

:fhm:

Ozymamdias has been pretty great, Jae Lee....what a man :hrt:

Dr.Manhattan has me pretty excited as well, the ending of issue one was delightful surprise and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

What's happened in Rorschach??? Still can't find it anywhere

So far I think Comedian is the weakest book and Minutemen is the strongest (with Silk Spectre being runner-up). I love what's been done with Silhouette in Minute Men. While other Before characters have just been fleshed out (sometimes redundantly), Cooke has really made Silhouette his own.

I still haven't been able to find Rorshach, it's infuriating! Was it at least good? How many Nite-Owl issues have come out so far? I've only read number 1 but I really loved it. Ozymandias and Dr Manhattan have been my favorite so far though

Dude, just purchase it digitally online. There's apps for that. I use comixology. In fact, that's how I purchase 90% of my comics these days. Never have to worry about anything being sold-out or impossible to find.

Anyway, Rorschach was alright. I read it a couple weeks ago and have already kinda forgotten it so it wasn't out of this world. I'd put it in the middle-tier of the Before books.

Silhouette is my favourite character in the Watchmen prequels (With Ozymandias being a close second)

I love how genuinely heroic she is and I thought the scene with her and her girlfriend last issue was beautiful :hrt:

Man I really want to do something like that but I just don't know. There's something about having the actual books. I love having a big stack of books on a shelf in my apartment, comics and novels alike, and I'm really proud about it ya know? When people come over I'm just kinda like "Yea, I read all of these. I have awesome taste." lmao
