Sequels Young X-Men (My Script)

INT. GENOSHA – OFFICE – SAME TIME

The door opens to reveal an old, grey-haired man in a suit. This is CAMERON HODGE; he has been campaigning against mutant rights for a good while.

He shakes hands with a dark-haired man with shades, HENRY GYRICH. His large chest looks like it’s about to burst through his shirt.

HODGE
Mr Gyrich.

GYRICH
Senator.

They take their seats. Gyrich hands him a document, stuffed with information.

HODGE
So? Any developments?

GYRICH
You’ll be happy to know that the dam is almost 100% completed. With the new recruits we received this morning, it should be fully operational in a couple of days.

HODGE
Excellent.

But there’s more.

GYRICH
But… I’m afraid one of the mutants escaped.

HODGE
Excuse me?

GYRICH
We searched the entire area. Nothing.

Hodge stares angrily at him.

HODGE
I am most displeased, Mr Gyrich. You assured me your facility was completely sealed off.

GYRICH
She must have slipped through our perimeters when –

HODGE
I don’t want excuses. If news of our operations reaches the States, then we’re finished. There will be no way back.

GYRICH
What are we going to do?

HODGE
What we have to.

Hodge pulls out a cell phone.

HODGE (CONT’D)
Call in support.

GYRICH
From where?

HODGE
The White House.

Gyrich stares in awe; he can’t be serious. He watches as the Senator dials a number.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – KITCHEN – DAY

KITTY and JUBILEE are chatting in the corner. COLOSSUS glances up from his newspaper and smiles at them. Kitty notices.

KITTY
What?

COLOSSUS
Oh… nothing.

Kitty goes back to her conversation. Colossus puts down his newspaper and walks over to the girls.

COLOSSUS (CONT’D)
Hey Jubilee.

JUBILEE
Hi, Peter.

The girls smile to each other. Colossus is having trouble getting the words out.

COLOSSUS
So, Kitty… do you want to… err… you know?

She stares at him, wide eyed.

COLOSSUS (CONT’D)
Well I was just wondering if you… would like to… err…

KITTY
Pete, are you trying to ask me out?

He nods bashfully.

KITTY (CONT’D)
I’d love to go out with you, Pete.

COLOSSUS
Oh… good. Great!

Suddenly BOBBY walks in.

BOBBY
Hey guys. Have any of you seen Rogue?

Peter and Jubilee shake their heads.

KITTY
She left the dorm room in quite a hurry this morning. I haven’t seen her since.

BOBBY
She was supposed to meet me for lunch…

COLOSSUS
Are you two okay, man?

BOBBY
(Unconvincingly)
Yeah. Why wouldn’t it be? I’ll see you guys later.

With that, he turns and leaves.

Coming tommorrow:

We hear more from the President and learn more about Rogue's decision to take the cure...

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – CLASSROOM – SAME TIME

ANGEL is giving a lesson to 16-17 year olds.

ANGEL
… and I want your assignments in on Monday.

Something catches his eye. He looks out the window to see ROGUE, wandering through the gardens.

SIRYN
Mr Worthington?

ANGEL
That will be all. Have a good day.

The students pack up their things and leave. After a few moments, Angel turns and leaves too.

EXT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – GARDENS – MINUTES LATER

Rogue kneels down beside the gravestones, a flower in her grasp. Angel walks over to her.

ANGEL
Hello, Rogue.

ROGUE
Hello, Mr Worthington.

ANGEL
Out here by yourself?

Rogue nods gracefully.

ROGUE
I needed a minute alone.

ANGEL
Oh, well… I’ll come back later.

ROGUE
No, no. It’s fine. I enjoy your company.

Angel kneels down beside her.

ANGEL
So, how are you feeling?

ROGUE
Better, thanks.

ANGEL
I heard Hank had to run some tests.

ROGUE
I’m going back to the lab this afternoon.

Angel nods.

ANGEL
Have you told Bobby?

ROGUE
He doesn’t need to know.

ANGEL
Really? I’m sure he’s worried about you. We all are.

ROGUE
He wouldn’t be able to help. No one can.

ANGEL
Don’t let Hank hear you say that.

Rogue smiles, looks back at the gravestones.

ANGEL (CONT’D)
You know, teaching is said to be one of the greatest gifts you can give.

ROGUE
Really?

ANGEL
Yeah. It’s a shame there’s no receipt for that gift.

She laughs, he does too.

ANGEL (CONT’D)
I remember when I was growing up, feeling alone, separated from others. No one deserves to feel like that.

ROGUE
You’re right. They don’t.

ANGEL
You might not think this, Rogue, but you do have friends here. People that care for you. You only have to look.

ROGUE
Can I ask you a question?

ANGEL
Of course.

ROGUE
Why didn’t you take the cure?

ANGEL
Sometimes, I forget myself. I suppose… I didn’t want my life dictated by others. I wanted to choose my own destiny, my own pathway.

Rogue looks sad, even regretful.

ANGEL (CONT’D)
But it’s not the only path. Rogue, you did the right thing. No one can tell us what we can or can’t do. It’s immoral. As long as you feel happy about your decisions, then everyone else can learn to be happy too.

She still looks doubtful, however.

ANGEL (CONT’D)
Come.

ROGUE
Where?

ANGEL
You’ll see.

He stands, takes her hand and lifts her to her feet. They walk back towards the Institute.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – CLASSROOM – MINUTES LATER

The door opens and Angel walks in. He addresses a classroom of 6-11 year olds, including the dark-haired kid from X2, ARTIE.

ANGEL
Good afternoon, children.

KIDS
Good afternoon, Mr Worthington.

ANGEL
Today I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. You may have seen around her the school.

Rogue walks, very cautiously, into the classroom.

ANGEL (CONT’D)
This is Rogue.

ROGUE
(Whispering)
What’s going on?

ANGEL
Rogue is going to teach you today.

She stares at him in horror. He nods encouragingly.

ANGEL
(Whispering)
These children need role models, Rogue, especially in times like these. Show them that, even if you are unique, you can still fit in.

She is still shocked.

ANGEL (CONT’D)
(Whispering)
You’ll know what to do.

He steps to the side. Rogue addresses the class.

ROGUE
Oh, well… actually I didn’t bring any work. I’m… new at this.

Artie raises a hand.

ROGUE
Err… yes?

ARTIE
Is it true you took the cure?

Rogue looks to Warren, who merely shrugs.

ROGUE
Um… yes, I did.

ARTIE
I wish I did, but… I was too young.

ROGUE
Why did you want that?

ARTIE
So I didn’t have to be a freak no more.

ROGUE
No, you’re not a freak. Far from it. All of you, please, don’t worry what other people think. It is our gifts which makes us who we are.

A girl with pale-green skin pipes up.

GIRL
But look at us? We’ll never fit in.

ROGUE
It’s what is inside that counts. Your powers are a blessing. You have gifts people can only dream of. Never forget that.

ARTIE
Then why did you take the cure?

ROGUE
Because… because I did it for someone else.

She looks away, a tear forming in her eye.

INT. WHITE HOUSE – OVAL OFFICE – DAY

The President sits behind his desk, when an assistant knocks and walks in.

ASSISTANT
Mr Trask is here for his appointment, sir.

PRESIDENT
Thank you. Send him in.

She leaves. Bolivar Trask strides in. They shake hands.

PRESIDENT (CONT’D)
Mr Trask, please sit down.

TRASK
Thank you, sir.

PRESIDENT
What did you want to talk to me about?

TRASK
I was wondering if you had heard anything from the team you send in to Genosha.

PRESIDENT
Not yet, I’m afraid.

TRASK
I see.

PRESIDENT
I’m sure they’ll report something back soon.

TRASK
Of course.

PRESIDENT
Was that all?

TRASK
It was, Mr President.

He stands, and shakes hands once more.

PRESIDENT
I’ll let you know as soon as I’ve heard something.

TRASK
I’d appreciate that, Mr President.

Trask turns and leaves. He walks past the assistant and into an empty hallway. He rounds a corner and draws out a cell phone.

He dials a number and lifts it to his ear.

TRASK (CONT’D)
Mr Gyrich, pleasure to speak to you again. I have just spoke with the President, and don’t worry, he hasn’t heard anything from Genosha. It seems luck has favoured you, Mr Gyrich.

He listens for a while.

TRASK (CONT’D)
I’m not sure that’s possible. I –

His eyes widen in shock.

TRASK (CONT’D)
You’re almost complete? How long until the final touches are made? That soon? Well, I suppose I could arrange a visit…. Ok, I’ll leave immediately.

OMG GREAT JOB
I really like the Rogue in the class part...
I can not wait for more./..
Write more soon please...
I am hooked

LOL. Thanks.

More will be up sometime tommorrow.

EXT. GENOSHA – PARK – DAY

Storm and Logan are walking through a crowded park, where children play on the swings and parents are sipping their coffees.

STORM
What a beautiful day. Not a cloud in sight.

LOGAN
You wouldn’t have anything to do with that, would ya?

She smiles.

STORM
I can’t believe we had never heard of this place before. If only every island was like this…

LOGAN
C’mon, ‘Ro. Things will get better.

STORM
You think so?

LOGAN
Don’t you?

STORM
A couple years back, maybe. But now… without the Professor, without his guidance, I’m lost. I don’t know what to do, Logan.

LOGAN
All you have to do is what’s right. For the children, for yourself.

STORM
Not everything’s black and white. And it frightens me. The Professor took care of me, gave me opportunities I could only dream of. But now, that's all gone.

Suddenly we hear a cat meowing. We PAN UP a tree, to reveal a tabby cat trapped in the branches. An elderly lady in a purple blouse calls for it.

A man, dressed in dark clothes, who fans will know as WARPATH (JAMES PROUDSTAR), walks over to the tree and plucks it from the ground.

He lowers it, so the cat is in reach of the elderly lady. Once she takes it from the branches, he replaces the tree back into the ground. She reaches up and pecks him on the cheek.

He smiles, and she walks off, her cat cradled in her arms.

BACK ON STORM AND LOGAN

LOGAN
Does it look like that’s gone to you?

Storm smiles, and they walk on through the park.

Warpath, meanwhile, walks in the opposite direction. He exits the park and walks down an empty side road. A few moments pass by, until-

A black van pulls up beside him. Three soldiers, clad in grey-armour, pour out onto the sidewalk and attempt to grab the mutant.

But Warpath is ready. He throws his palms outward, knocking one of the soldiers flying into the side of the van. He slumps to the ground.

Another van pulls up, as the two remaining soldiers wrestle with Warpath. The mutant punches one in the chin, then grabs another by his arm. He lifts the soldier over his head like a trophy and slams him into the other.

As more soldiers leap out from the second van, Warpath dashes off down an alley.

EXT. GENOSHA – ALLEY

Warpath rushes through the narrow alley, as soldiers tear after him, their weapons raised.

He turns a corner and carries on running, checking over his shoulder as he does.

PAN UP TO THE ROOFTOPS

A soldier emerges on the roof. He climbs onto the balcony, and overlooks the chain of alleyways below him.

SOLDIER (INTO COMMUNICATOR)
He’s heading west!

BACK ON GROUND FLOOR

Warpath rounds a corner to… a dead end! His heart pounds with dread. There’s no way to escape. He starts to punch at the stone wall, tearing at the surface.

But the soldiers appear, and enclose him. Five of them, preparing to fire when-

Warpath throws a dustbin in their direction. One of the soldiers is flattened by the bin, and tumbles to the ground.

The mutant dives behind a steel trash container as the soldiers unleash their weapons on him. Bullets pound into the metal like fireworks, filling the entire alley with noise. Then… silence.

As the soldiers relax their weapons, the trash container zooms towards them. Two of the soldiers run, but are knocked off their feet.

Warpath leaps out, landing with a thud on the ground. He swings, and hits one of the soldiers in the chest. He is thrown backwards, and crashes into the brick wall. He falls to the ground, unconscious.

The last remaining soldier shivers. He raises his weapon once more.

SOLDIER #2
Freeze, mutant!

But Warpath doesn’t listen. He slowly marches towards the soldier.

SOLDIER #2 (CONT’D)
I said freeze!

Warpath raises a fist, preparing to strike… when a dart shoots into his neck. He sways side to side, then collapses onto the ground. He convulses.

The soldier looks up to see a sniper, crouched on the roof above, his weapon trained on the mutant.

More soldiers stride into the alley. Two of them grab the mutant, and swing him over their soldiers.

SOLDIER #3
Man! This guy weighs a ton.

SOLDIER #4
Let’s get him back to base. He’s just what Hodge has been looking for.

A squadron of black vans pull up. The soldiers carry their prisoner and descend into the vans. They slam the doors shut and they speed off.

Like it....
Let's get going with some more Rogue work I am curious...

Sure, we'll see more from Rogue soon.

But I want to show a broader view of the school life, and so I'm trying to incorporate every character and give them sensible and meaningful roles.

Of course, Rogue is one of the main characters. I'll post some more soon, as soon as I've written it.

TKing, you're certainly one of the best writers I've read on this board. And you understand writing for film, which very few posters here do. Well done, I look forward to the next installment. :)

Thanks very much, Kevin. That means a lot. :)

More will be up sometime today.

EXT. HODGE’S BASE – NIGHT

The line of black vans weaves through a rocky road, and the large metal gates swing open. The vans move on, towards the large, dark rectangular building.

Soldiers, clad in anoraks, patrol the perimeter. Some are holding the leeches of dogs, looking out for any sign of intruders.

INT. BASE – MAIN CORRIDOR - MINUTES LATER

Two soldiers, holding WARPATH, move through the large hallway. They walk past various prison cells, where mutants are asleep on harsh beds.

They turn a corner and disappear down another hallway.

MOVE CLOSER ON THE DOOR OF THE INTERROGATION ROOM

MAN (O.S.)
Tell us! What do you know?

INT. BASE – INTERROGATION ROOM

A balding man stands over a large metal desk.

PAN AROUND the man to reveal a familiar blue-skinned face, KURT WAGNER aka: NIGHTCRAWLER. A metal band is strapped around his neck.

His eyes are dilated; he hangs his head, dejectedly.

MAN
We know you snuck into the Senator’s private office. What did you see?

But Nightcrawler is silent. He makes no attempt at speaking.

MAN (CONT'D)
Look at you. Your kind makes me sick. You’re no better than terrorists. Poison…

Nightcrawler doesn’t seem to notice.

MAN
You might think you have nothing left to lose. But we have done our homework, Mr Wagner. We know all about your relationship, with a certain Ororo Munroe… and the others at the Xavier Institute.

This gets Nightcrawler’s attention. He glances up, into the man’s steely glaze.

MAN (CONT'D)
You don’t want anything to happen to them, right?

Nightcrawler shakes his head.

MAN
Good. Then we can make a deal. What did you find out? What do you know?

But Nightcrawler has falling silent again. He looks down at the ground.

MAN (CONT'D)
What aren’t you telling us?!

NIGHTCRAWLER
Such anger… Why? I haven’t done anything to you. I only want peace. For the Lord says…

MAN
Lord? Don’t make me laugh. If there was such a Lord, why would you be here? Eh?

Nightcrawler looks back at the ground. The interrogator heaves a sigh. He says to one of the guards:

MAN
This one doesn’t know anything. Tell him back to his cell.

The guard grabs Nightcrawler’s arm and leads him through the door.

INT. BASE – PRISON CELLS – MINUTES LATER

The gate swings open and the guard hoists Nightcrawler inside. He slams the gate shut and walks off, leaving Nightcrawler in complete silence.

EXT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – GROUNDS – DAY

A GIRL chases a boy around the fountain. Suddenly he teleports, rematerializing behind her. She turns and screams in fright, then dashes after him.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – LABORATORY – SAME TIME

Rogue is sitting on the operating table, when HANK walks in, carrying a manila folder.

HANK
Good morning, Rogue.

ROGUE
Morning, Mr McCoy.

HANK
How are you feeling today?

ROGUE
Hmm… a little better. Still a bit nauseous. So, what’s going to happen?

HANK
I’ll need to run a few tests. Don’t worry. Nothing too strenuous.

ROGUE
Will it hurt?

HANK
You won’t feel a thing.

Rogue looks sad, and frightened.

HANK (CONT’D)
Try to relax. Everything will be okay.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – EXAMINATION CHAMBER

Rogue is lying in the small, rounded chamber (just like Logan did in X1). The lights spark on, almost blinding her.

CLOSE UP ON BEAST

As he watches the display. He wears specialist black goggles, rubbing his chin, intrigued.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – LABORATORY – MINUTES LATER

The door opens, and Rogue walks in, pulling a jacket over her shoulders. Hank is pouring over a desk, looking anxious.

ROGUE
(Smiling)
So? What’s the diagnosis, doc?

And then she sees his look of anxiety. She reels back, frightened.

ROGUE (CONT’D)
What is it? What’s wrong?

HANK
Please, sit down.

She does so. He sits down next to her, takes her hand in his.

HANK (CONT’D)
There have been… some developments.

ROGUE
Am I ill?

HANK
No, no. Not at all.

ROGUE
Then what is it?

Hank almost doesn’t want to say.

HANK
Rogue… it seems that your powers are manifesting themselves.

She is speechless.

ROGUE
I… what?

HANK
The results were pretty conclusive.

ROGUE
But? How? What about the cure?

HANK
It worked, for a time. But it seems, over time, your body has created antibodies. Your cells are rejecting the cure. That is why you have been suffering from dizziness…. your sudden nausea. Your body is readjusting itself.

ROGUE
But… I don’t want to be a mutant. Can’t you do anything?

HANK
I’m afraid not. After what happened at Alcatraz, the government ordered that manufacture of the cure be discontinued.

A tear forms in Rogue’s eye. She rests her head on his shoulder.

ROGUE
How long until… they come back?

HANK
I’m not certain. It could be weeks, perhaps days. I’m so sorry, Rogue.

ROGUE
I’ve always dreamt of being normal. Of being able to touch people. And then I met Bobby, and the cure… I guess everything was too good to be true.

HANK
Rogue, I…

ROGUE
I guess I better tell Bobby.

She walks out of the laboratory. Hank stares after her, “Poor girl”…

OMG I love it...
When I read the first part I thought cool she is pregnant :D
But then...
Wow....
Very good...
I can not wait for the next part

Cool thanks. I'm writing the next part now.

OM<G Then I will deff stay for the Bobby's reaction...

Bobby's reaction will come a little bit later. But don't worry... it will come. ;)

EXT. WOODS – DAY

Hiding behind a large rock, is ANGEL, DUST, SIRYN, KITTY, COLOSSUS and HELLION.

All the way we can hear the sound of blaster shots pounding into the rock, and the sounds of men from within the woods.

ANGEL
Okay… our aim is to protect the prisoner and get out. Do not hurt the guards. They're not our enemies in this. We're on the same side.

HELLION
Someone better tell that to them.

ANGEL
You ready?

Everyone nods.

ANGEL (CONT’D)
Okay, let’s move. And stick together!

The group splits up into pairs, and leap over the rock, where we see a LARGE SQUARE BUILDING.

NEAR A BUNKER

Kitty and Colossus watch from a distance, as soldiers rush from all exits, carrying guns and yelling orders at each other.

KITTY
Shouldn’t we be attacking now?

COLOSSUS
Ssh. Do you want us to get caught?

KITTY
Well we have to do something.

COLOSSUS
Look, if we take this underground passage, we’ll come out right underneath the command post. See?

She smiles, he smiles back.

KITTY
Peter Rasputin, did anyone ever tell you, you are a genius?

COLOSSUS
No. Why don’t you tell me again? I might not believe it.

She smiles, takes his hand and phases them both through the bunker doors.

EXT. OUTSIDE BUILDING – SAME TIME

ANGEL flies through the air, dodging blaster fire. But he is caught off-guard, and is hit in the stomach.

He plummets to the ground, and lands with a THUD!

HELLION
Angel!

Hellion rushes to his side. He raises his hand, and the ground tears up around them, forming a makeshift barrier.

HELLION (CONT’D)
Angel? Are you okay, man?

ANGEL
I’ll… be fine. What about the others?

In the distance, we can hear the sound of men shouting and screaming in pain. Hellion turns to him.

HELLION
I think they’re doing okay.

EXT. ELSEWHERE – SAME TIME

SIRYN grabs a soldier by the shoulders, knees him in the gut and punches him in the face.

SIRYN
(To Dust)
Keep them busy! We have to keep the exit clear!

She is unaware that three other soldiers have their guns trained on her.

SOLDIER
Freeze, mutant!

She turns to face them.

SOLDIER (CONT’D)
Put your hands in the air and no-one will get hurt!

She smiles and does as she is told, raising her hands above her head. But then she opens her mouth, and releases a blood-curling shriek.

The soldiers clap their hands to their eyes, and writhe in pain on the floor.

CLOSER ON DUST

Meanwhile, DUST is kneeling on the floor. A soldier walks up to her.

SOLDIER #2
Kid, turn around and put your hands on your head.

But Dust doesn’t reply.

SOLDIER #2 (CONT’D)
Kid!

He grabs her shoulder, but then her body collapses and turns to dust. It settles on the ground. His eyes widen in horror.

Then he turns, and finds Dust, standing behind him!

SOLDIER #2
What the-!

Dust’s body turns to sand once more, and whips the soldier. He screams in pain, the clothes tearing from his body. He tries desperately to shield his face from the sandstorm.

But then he falls to the ground. The sandstorm continues, and knocks several more soldiers off their feet.

I like it...
Siryn is also a good choice...
I don't really know Dust but doesn't matter he/she sounds very cool....

Can we expect more todayor not?

Of course. I'm just writing the rest of the Danger Room sequence now. Once I've finished, I'll post more of it later on.

Edit: Oh, and Dust is a girl. :woot:
