I have finally left the community long enough to start reading your script. You are extremely talented and I am enjoying reading this ..I should get out more often. t:

Hey everyone. Just to let you all know (well, those that have been reading my script ), an update should be around pretty soon. I've been writing loads, and creating ideas for my X5 and X6.

 

[TKing]

So, I've finally managed to post an update. For those of you who haven't lost interest yet I'll post the last scene as well, just to refresh your memory of what's just happened in the script.


INT. HODGE'S OFFICE - NIGHT

Hodge is sitting in a comfortable chair, watching a display screen, of the battle outside.

Gyrich is standing silently behind him. Hodge smiles as the soldiers close in.

EXT. GROUNDS - NIGHT

Storm’s hair springs into the air, and her eyes CRACKLE WITH LIGHTNING. She rises to her feet, glares at the guards and raises her arms.

A STRONG GUST EMERGES. The soldiers struggle to move; the wind BLOWS THEM OFF THEIR FEET, they crumble to the ground.

The Sentinel watches Storm. It moves closer, its mechanical frame clinking with every step, pounding into the ground below.

It raises an arm, preparing to fire… Storm hasn’t noticed…


--Update starts here--

LOGAN
Storm!

Logan DIVES AT THE SENTINEL! He slashes at the robot’s metal arm, causing it to stagger back.

Logan manages to hold on, and starts to make it’s way up the robot’s torso.

He climbs onto his back, rises a hand and plunges his claws in the Sentinel’s head. Its eyes start to FADE. It sways side to side.

Logan rips out a handful of wiring from the Sentinel’s neck. In moments, it’s head tilts and falls. It thunders onto the ground.

The Sentinel’s body follows, as it crashes down.

Logan jumps down safely. He dusts himself off. He walks over to Storm, and smiles.

LOGAN
Well… impressed?

Storm smiles too, but suddenly her expression alters. Her eyes widen. Logan follows her gaze, to see… the SENTINEL START TO RISE TO ITS FEET!

Even without a head, it is operational. It raises an arm, targets the two mutants and fires.

Logan and Storm turn to run, but are too late. The Sentinel releases a metal sphere, which in turn becomes a net of sticky yellow energy. It engulfs Storm and Logan, and they are pinned to the ground.

As they struggle uselessly against the barrier, the compound’s doors open and HODGE and GYRICH walk out.

Hodge speaks to the mutants.

HODGE
Impressive… isn’t it? Don’t bother resisting That web is made from the strongest material known to man. Too much even for your skeleton, Logan…

Logan snarls at him. Hodge motions to the soldiers, who lift Logan and Storm up and drag them away.

GYRICH
Now what, sir?

HODGE
Now that we’ve tested the Sentinel, we’ll need to expand.

GYRICH
Expand?

HODGE
Oh, yes. Why else would I bring Trask all the way out here?

GYRICH
You expect him to take the Sentinel back to America?

HODGE
And why wouldn’t he?

GYRICH
Isn’t that a bit risky, sir?

HODGE
This is a war, my friend. Wars are all about taking risks. Now, get the Sentinel patched up and ready to go.

Gyrich bows, and disappears. Hodge smiles at the destruction the Sentinel caused.

This is just a teaser, for what's to come soon.

Beast starts to worry when he doesn't hear from Storm and Logan. In desperate need, he must ask the help of an old friend for a favour. Meanwhile, Rogue's powers completely return. Left reeling when Bobby doesn't comfort her, she plans on leaving the Institute and the X-Men. But can she desert her friends, when now more than ever, they need her help?

Okay, finally an update.

Just a little summary of what's happened recently.

Berzerker, Siryn, Jubilee and Sunspot were caught joyriding in one of the X-Vans, and are expecting their punishments from Hank. Meanwhile, in Genosha, Hodge's Sentinel was finally operational and took down Storm and Logan. Last we saw them, they were being dragged away by Hodge's soldiers...

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – CORRIDOR – DAY

It’s morning. Some of the kids are up, bright and early, getting ready for the day ahead.

BERZERKER and the others stumble out from their dorms.

BERZERKER
Aww, man! Morning already? I’m going back to bed. Someone wake me when it’s like tomorrow!

SIRYN
What about Hank? He’s expecting us in his office.

BERZERKER
For what?

Siryn gives him the look.

BERZERKER
Aww! Alright, fine. But stop looking at me like that. Gives me the creeps.

JUBILEE
What do you think he’s going to do to us?

SUNSPOT
I dunno, but I heard one time Julian got caught trying to sneak out at night, Logan made him clean the jet for a whole month. By the time he’d finished he had blisters the size of baseballs!

JUBILEE
Good thing Logan’s not here.

SIRYN
Yeah… it feels odd without him around. Anybody else think he and Storm should be back by now?

BERZERKER
Teresa, sitting on a glorious beach, with a hot babe by my side and time to just kick back and do nothing… or stuck here where everywhere you go people are waiting to jump at your throat for just being different… I think I know where I want to be.

SIRYN
Still… I heard Hank talking to Mr Worthington. They haven’t heard from either of them for days now. What if something has happened to them?

SUNSPOT
Chill out, Teresa. They’re super-powerful mutants on first name terms with the President no less!… what could happen?

 

[TKing]

INT. HODGE’S BASE – CONTAINMENT CELLS – SAME TIME

Storm and Logan are imprisoned in individual cells, side by side. Storm looks defeated, lost.

Logan seems to be holding things together.

STORM
I just can’t help thinking… we’re never gonna make it out of here.

LOGAN
You can’t think like that, Storm.

STORM
Why not? Aren’t you?

LOGAN
No. I’m not. I’m thinking of a way to get out of here.

STORM
There is no way of getting out of here. Don’t you see, Logan? All these mutants, hundreds of them… none of them could escape. How can we?

LOGAN
Marrow did.

Storm ignores it.

STORM
So what? One person makes it out of here… and now suddenly we all can? I don’t buy that Logan.

LOGAN
What about the children, Storm?

Storm reacts to this; her body goes rigid and her voice cold.

STORM
What about them?

LOGAN
Well are you just going to give up on them too?

STORM
They’re fine. Hank and Warren can look after them.

LOGAN
I know. But they shouldn’t have to. That’s supposed to be our job. Or have you forgotten that?

STORM
Of course I haven’t!

LOGAN
Then fight with me, Storm! Don’t give up… not yet! We just have to stick together. All of us.

STORM
I… can’t. I’m too weak to even fight anymore. Hodge-

LOGAN
Is a liar and a cheat, and we can beat him! Don’t let someone like that take over, Storm. Think what he could do to people back home. To the children… you heard him. He knows Senator Trask, he might even know the President! What if he convinced the President to set this… Sentinel loose in New York? What damage could it do? To all of us?

STORM
And what are we meant to do about it, Logan? In case you hadn’t noticed, we’re locked up.

LOGAN
Not for long.

STORM
What?

LOGAN
Look, they’re still keeping this guy Forge in a separate holding room to fix repairs on the Sentinel.

STORM
And that’s good?

LOGAN
If I can get to him, yeah. I’ll get him to release the prisoners, then create a diversion to allow you to escape.

STORM
And if you don’t?

LOGAN
Then I’m screwed. But then it’s no different if I just sit here and wait around for Hodge to kill us all in the first place!

STORM
You think this Forge will help us?

LOGAN
I’ll make him.

STORM
What if he doesn’t?

LOGAN
Then I’ll do it myself.

Then a moment of silence as the two think it over.

STORM
Logan… do you ever wonder, what things could have been like if you had never met the X-Men?

LOGAN
All the time.

Storm looks hurt by this.

LOGAN (CONT’D)
And I wonder what kinda mess you lot would get in without me here to bail you out.

Storm suppresses a giggle.

STORM
I’m glad you’re here, Logan.

LOGAN
Yeah. –sarcastically- I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

 

[TKing]

I'll try to post a weekly update from now on, about one each weekend. Now that most of my exams are done and dusted, I should have time to finish this in a couple of weeks.

So, not long now.

Beast starts to worry for Storm and Logan. But he needs the help of an old friend. Meanwhile, Trask finally inspects the Sentinel. Plus, Rogue must make a bold decision about her future with the X-Men and her future relationship with Bobby. But with her powers returning, who knows what might happen?

Sorry for the short delay, but here it is. My update.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – CORRIDOR - SAME TIME

BERZERKER, JUBILEE, SIRYN and SUNSPOT are walking towards Storm’s office.

SUNSPOT
Well, here goes.

BERZERKER
No. Wait. Ssh - listen.

They stop outside the door, when they hear VOICES inside.

INT. XAVIER INSTITUTE – STORM’S OFFICE

Inside the office, stands HANK and WARREN. They seem to be in some stress.

WARREN
Wait- let’s think this through. You’re sure?

HANK
Of course. Ororo undoubtedly said she’d check in with us every day.

WARREN
Perhaps she forgot.

HANK
You don’t know Ororo like I do.

Warren looks a little hurt by this. Hank clears his throat.

HANK
I’m sorry, Warren. I didn’t mean for it to come out like that. It’s just… Ororo’s not a forgetful person. I’m positive… something’s wrong.

WARREN
Well what do you think we should do?

HANK
I’m not sure. I suppose I should check in with the President. See if he could lend us a hand in contacting them.

WARREN
You sure that’s a good idea?

Hank eyes him.

HANK
And why wouldn’t it be?

WARREN
Perhaps it’s what the government wanted all along. To divide us, separate us, capture us-

HANK
I don’t believe that. And neither should you. The President is promoting peace. That’s what this operation has been about. No – I’ll see the President later.

WARREN
And in the meantime? What do we tell the kids? “Oh, sorry guys but we think Storm and Logan are lost on a jungle island which nobody even knows exists”?

HANK
There’s no need to tell them. Not yet. They don’t need anything else to cause alarm.

Warren nods his agreement.

WARREN
Okay… I better get to my class.

With that, Warren leaves –

INT. CORRIDOR – SAME TIME

Into the corridor, where the X-Kids have vanished. But as Warren walks away, and Beast closes the door, they re-appear, all with worried expressions on their faces.

JUBILEE
Did you hear that? Storm and Logan are in trouble?

SIRYN
Could be in trouble. Nobody’s saying for sure that they are.

SUNSPOT
We don’t know that! They could be in real trouble out there!

BERZERKER
Well, what are we going to do?

SIRYN
Nothing… because we aren’t even supposed to know. We’ll forget like this ever happened, right guys?

JUBILEE
What if they’re hurt, Teresa? They might need our help.

Beat.

SIRYN
What are saying we should do?

As everybody else ponders, the camera closes in on Berzerker. Suddenly his eyes light up with excitement.

BERZERKER
I have an idea!

The X-Kids are desperate to help Storm and Logan, and so do what they have to... they hijack the X-Jet. Meanwhile, Beast has gone to visit the President to see if he has had any word from Genosha.

Okay, sorry for the delay. Here's an update:

INT. X-JET – LATER

The New Mutants have suited up and stowed aboard the jet. BERZERKER is in the pilot’s cockpit, SUNSPOT seated beside him. The girls watch anxiously from behind.

SIRYN
Are you sure this is such a good idea? What if we get caught? Hank won’t-

BERZERKER
Hank won’t even know. He’s got enough to think about. Besides, we’ll be back before you know it.

Siryn looks to Jubilee for reassurance, who can only shrug. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea, Teresa thinks to herself…

The engines fire up, as the jet prepares to take off.

BERZERKER
Just… hold on to your lunch.

JUBILEE
I hope you know what you're doing.

BERZERKER
(Smirking)
So do I.

The jet roars to life, and it starts to hover, as the basketball courts divide to become a passageway. A sharp burst of flames shoot out, and the jet rockets into the empty sky above!

EXT. GENOSHA – CAMP – HOURS LATER

A line of MUTANTS, prisoners, scour the encampment, including BLOB, AVALANCHE, STORM and WOLVERINE. NIGHTCRAWLER is also there, mumbling to himself.

Watching them from afar, as soldiers lead them from their cells, is GYRICH and HODGE.

GYRICH
Everything has been arranged per your orders, sir.

HODGE
Excellent.

GYRICH
Trask will take delivery of the Sentinel first thing tomorrow light. It’ll hit American shores not before long.

HODGE
Almost too good to be true, isn't it, Henry?

GYRICH
I don’t believe in the impossible, sir. Just look at what we’ve accomplished. With the Sentinel fully operational and a dozen more well on the way, the mutants won’t be able to stop us. With your control over the Genoshan government, we already have an entire population on our side. And with Trask’s… persuasion in the White House, I’m sure the American President will learn to accept our views in time.

HODGE
I couldn't have said it better myself, Henry. All this planning… finally, it’s starting to take shape. The eradication of the mutant gene… it’s an exciting time, don’t you think? A dawn of a new age. It’s a terrible shame some… won’t live to see it. I’m sure the late Mr Stryker would have had a particular interest in our affairs.

GYRICH
Well, without his blueprints, the Sentinel would never have become a reality.

HODGE
Of course. I owe a lot to him. And to you.

Henry is startled by this recognition.

HODGE (CONT’D)
If it wasn’t for you, Henry, if you hadn't been at Alkali Lake when it was flooded… the Sentinel would’ve died with its maker. I don’t say it a lot, but thank you. Without you, none of this [he surveys the mutant prisoners] would have been possible.

Henry doesn’t know quite what to say.

GYRICH
Why, thank you sir.

They turn, and disappear into the office, as the MUTANTS continue filing past to their work.
