you really think that if the rock wouldnt job to cena hogan would. come on.

The big problem is that it would just have been a painfully bad match to watch. At least Hogan v. Rock had a good storyline behind it, good psychology and a crazy-ass crowd behind it.

Smackdown spoilers.

Aw. :o

What the hell was with the camera work when Sheild went after Foley?! Jeebus it was dizzying!

Why didn't Rock come to help Mick?

Yah...Rock coming out to help Mick > Ryback, Orton and Sheamus fighting off the Shield.

But, once again...WWE's logic.

Okay we all harp on the WWE's negatives, but what are their positives? I got a few:

- Their Make a Wish stuff is excellent. It's always nice to see WWE Superstars greet the kids from Make a Wish. It also gives the WWE some nice publicity.
- They are doing a good job with the NXT developmental system.
- When the WWE announces a Hall of Famer or someone retires (Edge, Shawn Michaels) the video packages are excellent.
- Tribute to the Troops. Some may think it's a waste, but it really doesn't matter what we think about Tribute to the Troops. It's what the troops think. It will remain a staple of the WWE as long as the troops want it. The WWE will only get rid of it if the troops don't want it anymore. Ratings don't matter all that much with this program. Again, this gives the WWE some good publicity.
- They do a great job of honoring victims of tragedies. The 26 Bell Salute and moment of silence the WWE did right when TLC started in memory of the Sandy Hook victims was a great way to remember the victims of that horrible tragedy.
- The WWE does a good job with their do not try this at home, by having WWE superstars tell the viewers at home that they have spent years training to be in the WWE.

Those are the good things about the WWE. I am tired of talking and reading about the negativity of the WWE, so for a bit, lets take a break from it and talk about the positives of the company. For all the hate that there is about the WWE in this thread (and with good reason), we forget that not everything the WWE has done sucks.

And despite my feelings about the actual sincerity of the WWE in their Be-A-Star program, at least the WWE is trying to do something about it. Can't fault the WWE for trying.

IMO, the WWE can garner some great publicity if they hopped on the "Let's beat the living snot out of childhood obesity" bandwagon. They could have a series of ads, showing WWE superstars beating guys dressed as fatty foods and then urging kids to go out and exercise at least an hour a day. Would the ads be cheesy? Absolutely, but they would be for a great cause. It would give the WWE a lot of positive publicity. The NFL does a fantastic job with their "Play 60" campaign despite the terrible song that they play in the ads. I'm sure that the NBA, MLB and NHL have similar programs. I am a bit surprised that the WWE, who is trying to gear themselves towards kids has not joined the fight against childhood obesity.

Agreed, these are all excellently done and handled by the E. I don't think there's anyone that has a problem with these things, but if there is, then they can get the F out, imo. :D

- This week's WWE Classics Five-Star Match of the Week was chosen by Booker T and he picked The Rock 'n' Roll Express vs. The Midnight Express from WCW WrestleWar 1990. Booker told WWE.com:

"The reason I picked that match, is because those are the two tag teams that I grew up watching. Those are the guys who inspired me and my brother back in the day to become a tag team. When those tag teams were brought together, they performed at the highest level. I don’t think there will ever be two tag teams that will perform at the level that these guys did on a yearly, weekly, nightly occasion. Everybody talks about The Road Warriors being the greatest tag team of all time. But if it was my pick, it would be a tie between The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and The Midnight Express."

- The latest word on Curt Hawkins returning to action is that he may be back in time for the Royal Rumble but if not, then definitely early February. WWE officials expect Evan Bourne back in action possibly before WrestleMania.

- There are people within WWE who feel that The Rock working more dates this year is a direct response to internal criticism he received last year about working such a limited schedule.

- WWE officials had talks last week about inducting either DX or The Kliq - Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman, as one group, into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. It's not confirmed that they will go in but it was definitely talked about over the last week.

Bob Backlund was at WWE headquarters in Stamford last week. WWE wants to induct Backlund this year but word is that he has not yet accepted the invite.

Regarding Bruno Sammartino, word within WWE over the last week is they hope to reach out to Bruno again to ask him about being inducted this year. One source believes Triple H is planning to offer to personally travel to Pittsburgh to meet with Bruno.

With all the names floating around for possible induction this year, it's safe to say nobody is confirmed yet except for Mick Foley. We noted yesterday that Kamala may be the next name announced.

- We noted before how WWE Legend Superstar Billy Graham lashed out at CM Punk online for his promo on RAW a few weeks back where he mentioned Bruno Sammartino. Chris Jericho chimed in and told Graham to shut up, calling him a mark.

Graham has replied to Jericho:

"Mr. Jericho Sir,

I won’t say Dear Chris because I know you hate me with the utter most hatred.

Addressing your quote about me, "And stop being such a mark” The truth is, I believe everyone is a mark for someone or something at some point in their life. For instance, I am a total mark for Bob Dylan. The man has written over 600 songs and I saw him in person here in Phoenix last year. He had never sounded better at the age of 70! Fans are marks for the upcoming Super Bowl, The World Series, The NBA championship playoffs, and Nascar to name just a few examples.

In pro wrestling I am a mark for Triple H and proud to admit it for numerous reasons. He had a great hard earned physique, he had enormous charisma and an in ring presence that was unmatched. I remember sitting on the front row at a PPV here in Phoenix and his opponent gave him a sling shot into the post. I had my eyes fixed on him because I was curious about how he was going to do the blade job. As soon as his head hit the post he started bleeding, I did not see him cut himself and he was right in front of me, just a few feet away! Back in the locker room we were sitting next to each other and I asked him, "Brother, how did you cut your head, as you started bleeding immediately?" He said, " Superstar, I cut my head right before it hit the post." I marked out at that very moment, what a pro that man was and still could be if he wanted to be.

In closing I hope that answers your statement to me regarding “being such a mark.” And your quote to me about "Shutting the hell up” I won’t even address that because what I do best is CUT PROMOS!!!

Superstar Billy Graham"

In some ways I do like the PG Era. Some of the stuff in the attitude era was too trashy. However I still think they need to push the envelope sometimes. There still needs to be blood on occasion. It was done very effectively between Brock and Cena at Extreme Rules. I just want to see them move in a more mature direction without going overboard. Not sure what I think about a health campaign. It seems like they got enough going on. Some people will always see WWE as wrasslin , no matter what they do. I think Vince needs to lighten up about superstars branching out and doing other things. They should of worked a deal with Jericho. Rock does movies and comes back yet anyone else leaves they become taboo. At least they have lightened up enough for the dvd/blu releases.

I'm frustrated with the direction of WWE, but I don't hate it. I'm still looking forward to the rumble.

And out of all of that, only 1 thing has to do with actual wrestling. From a wrestling company.

Philanthropy is fine and all, but it doesn't make up for a **** product. I watch wrestling for wrestling, not because WWE has donated a ****ton of money. I appreciate them doing so, but it ain't why I tune in.

You know what? I'm going to agree with this. I don't hate the PG Era, but I do think it could use a tad more attitude, no pun intended. A balanced hybridization of some of the edginess of the Attitude Era with the fun of the PG Era would be a very good way to go in my opinion.

On an unrelated note, I've been irked by the WWE as "World Wrestling Entertainment"..don't know why it just always has. I understand the whole copyright thing with World Wildlife Fund and all, but still if they were going to go with WWE, at least make the E stand for "Empire" or something. And it would actually have some logic behind it, since after the Invasion storyline the Federation really HAD become something of an Empire woth McMahon at the top. Anyone even remotely agree with me?

What I'd like is Raw and SmackDown to be a little more "attitude" aimed at teens/20's/adults and have SuperStars, Saturday Morning to be for this kids, to have the stupid comedy and all that nonsense.

you really think that if the rock wouldnt job to cena hogan would. come on.

If Vince had put enough zeros in the paycheck at the time, Michaels and Orton would've gone over Hogan. Easily.

The problem is WWE has been filler since Sheamus dropped the title. However, its a new year and with Wrestlemania season about to kick into gear in a few weeks beginning with the Royal Rumble, the next 3 months will be exciting to watch. We're already off to a good start with Del Rio shocking the world and Punk confronting Rock. I look forward to see what happens soon although if Vince can do a switcharoo with Lesnar Vs. Helmsley and Punk Vs. Undertaker, I'll be a happy camper. And I won't mind at all if this year's Rumble victor is a repeat winner. We haven't had one since Austin.

The Kliq? That would truly confirm the utter farce that the HOF is. Then again, I suppose it already is a farce. :o

Just induct DX (HBK, Trips, Billy, Dogg and Pac). Nash has made his feelings clear on the HOF already so I don't see why he should get the pay cheque in an indirect manner. As for Hall, I don't know how he's fixed these days but I doubt it's anywhere good.

Well, they inducted Ric Flair twice. Might as well keep the doubles going now.

I don't see DX or the Kliq being inducted until Triple H is inducted as an individual.

As PWMania.com previously reported, officials have discussed breaking Big E Langston away from Ziggler and AJ Lee but it sounds like he might stay with AJ. They are discussing this not because of a possible Langston face turn but because of a Ziggler babyface turn.

Vince McMahon has been changing his mind back and forth on Ziggler as a babyface but it’s more when and not if. A lot of people in the company feel that Ziggler will take off huge as a babyface when the call is made. The fact that Ziggler is already popular in the New York market is said to be influencing Vince’s decision.

(Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

When Ziggler breaks from AJ that should be her push over.
Nothing else she can do.
