Okay we all harp on the WWE's negatives, but what are their positives? I got a few:
- Their Make a Wish stuff is excellent. It's always nice to see WWE Superstars greet the kids from Make a Wish. It also gives the WWE some nice publicity.
- They are doing a good job with the NXT developmental system.
- When the WWE announces a Hall of Famer or someone retires (Edge, Shawn Michaels) the video packages are excellent.
- Tribute to the Troops. Some may think it's a waste, but it really doesn't matter what we think about Tribute to the Troops. It's what the troops think. It will remain a staple of the WWE as long as the troops want it. The WWE will only get rid of it if the troops don't want it anymore. Ratings don't matter all that much with this program. Again, this gives the WWE some good publicity.
- They do a great job of honoring victims of tragedies. The 26 Bell Salute and moment of silence the WWE did right when TLC started in memory of the Sandy Hook victims was a great way to remember the victims of that horrible tragedy.
- The WWE does a good job with their do not try this at home, by having WWE superstars tell the viewers at home that they have spent years training to be in the WWE.
Those are the good things about the WWE. I am tired of talking and reading about the negativity of the WWE, so for a bit, lets take a break from it and talk about the positives of the company. For all the hate that there is about the WWE in this thread (and with good reason), we forget that not everything the WWE has done sucks.
And despite my feelings about the actual sincerity of the WWE in their Be-A-Star program, at least the WWE is trying to do something about it. Can't fault the WWE for trying.
IMO, the WWE can garner some great publicity if they hopped on the "Let's beat the living snot out of childhood obesity" bandwagon. They could have a series of ads, showing WWE superstars beating guys dressed as fatty foods and then urging kids to go out and exercise at least an hour a day. Would the ads be cheesy? Absolutely, but they would be for a great cause. It would give the WWE a lot of positive publicity. The NFL does a fantastic job with their "Play 60" campaign despite the terrible song that they play in the ads. I'm sure that the NBA, MLB and NHL have similar programs. I am a bit surprised that the WWE, who is trying to gear themselves towards kids has not joined the fight against childhood obesity.

And out of all of that, only 1 thing has to do with actual wrestling. From a wrestling company.Okay we all harp on the WWE's negatives, but what are their positives? I got a few:

In some ways I do like the PG Era. Some of the stuff in the attitude era was too trashy. However I still think they need to push the envelope sometimes. There still needs to be blood on occasion. It was done very effectively between Brock and Cena at Extreme Rules. I just want to see them move in a more mature direction without going overboard. Not sure what I think about a health campaign. It seems like they got enough going on. Some people will always see WWE as wrasslin , no matter what they do. I think Vince needs to lighten up about superstars branching out and doing other things. They should of worked a deal with Jericho. Rock does movies and comes back yet anyone else leaves they become taboo. At least they have lightened up enough for the dvd/blu releases.
I'm frustrated with the direction of WWE, but I don't hate it. I'm still looking forward to the rumble.

As PWMania.com previously reported, officials have discussed breaking Big E Langston away from Ziggler and AJ Lee but it sounds like he might stay with AJ. They are discussing this not because of a possible Langston face turn but because of a Ziggler babyface turn.
Vince McMahon has been changing his mind back and forth on Ziggler as a babyface but its more when and not if. A lot of people in the company feel that Ziggler will take off huge as a babyface when the call is made. The fact that Ziggler is already popular in the New York market is said to be influencing Vinces decision.
