Transformers YOUR BIGGEST WTF moments, including Plotholes,etc,etc of the TF movie THREAD!

In 'Transformers', something was said that seemed so ridiculous to me that my suspension of disbelief - already hanging by a thin thread - was completely ruined. Since I've been physically unable to attend a paid screening of the film due to having a set of morals and ethics, I'll quote the comic variation of the script:

'That's Megatron - leader of the Decepticons!'

'Basically, the bad guys.'

'Been in cryo-stasis nearly a hundred years. Fact is, you're looking at the source of the machines of the modern age - all reverse-engineered by studying him.'

'But why are they here? Why Earth?'

'The Allspark. Megatron wants it to transform all our technology and take over the universe.'

So, in a nutshell, Megatron arrived sometime around 1907 with the intention of using our technology for his own evil means. Unfortunately for him, he was frozen. Fortunately for us, his presence allowed us to create our advanced technology.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Megatron simply come to earth because it happened to be the location the Allspark landed?

If he did come to earth planning to transform our technology, how far was he going to get in universe domination with 1907 technology?

To illustrate my point, here are a few pieces of technology from the early 20th century:

I know, I know... it's a Michael Bay action blockbuster and you're not supposed to read into, enjoy, believe, question or even pay attention to the script.

Humour me.

Have I really followed the logic correctly? Or did I miss some other piece of exposition?

Megatron wants the allspark. Earth has primitive technology. Megatron wants the allspark basically to be an all-powerful god and rule the universe and will most likely destroy the earth and turn it into a new cybertron in the process.

So, cube that turns all machinery evil (man japan would be one scary ass place) and create an army to do whatever he wishes. Not that difficult of a situation if you ask me.

yeah but he never did get sacrificed. i dont necesarily want that to have happened but he almost sacrificed something.

Meh, its just the saying of the whitwickey's...

I believe at one point it was said something along the lines of "risk" "sacrifice" and "victory" of which he did 2 of the 3, and was even ready to do the 3rd.

He basically had sacrificed his life up at that point. Sam was up next to megatron and even then, he would rather sacrifice his life rather than give him the cube and become his "pet."

Makes sense to me, stop reading into the movie so much...

comic relief, he made people laugh, he had a purpose.

Remember these are all characters in TRANSFORMERS. These guys can, and will most likely, reappear in the sequels as well.

Actually, there was plenty of evidence to indicate what a great hacker he was. He somehow got his computer to display alien ASCII characters that could not have possibly been read or displayed by any software we know of.

I just had seen Die Hard 4, and the master computer hacker was a white guy named warlock who lived in a basement that looked like a computer stronghold.

Black people are hardly portrayed as intelligent in movies and games. They are usually the grunts, and the first to die in all movies. Yes its a stereotype, do I believe it is true about the population? No, but it is a stereotype that exists.

Sadly the stereotype applies more to JAZZ dying (the only "black" autobot) rather than a super intelligent black hacker.

and how did bumblebee's voice suddenly repair itself?

also,if the TF's are sensitive to extreme temperatures, they can be frozen, and high temp explosives can kill them, then how can they travel through freezing space... and endure the extreme heat of entering earth's atmosphere?


and i agree, Jazz's death should have been more dramatic.

God Damn! You just killed the whole credibility of all the Transformers fight scenes and deaths for me.

Good thinking on your part because I probably would never have bothered to analize the extreme temps correlation with the dangers of outer space.

I guess that would be my ftw moment too.

That and the fact that we never see a shower scene with Megan Fox.

Bumblebee's voice got repaired thanks to the Allspark. Remember what happened when Frenzy's head touched the Allspark? He got repaired! Same thing must've happened with BumbleBee.

Transformers travel through space in Statis Pods. ( I think! ) :P

Really guys, you guys speculate way too much. They are the mutha FAHKIN Transformers! Super advanced alien robots.

I will go out on a whim and say that their interplanetary space travel "protoform meteor form" is designed to endure all of that. They are probably in a "stasis" type of fashion and upon landing on earth are able to transform into their alt and robot modes.

I'm going to say advantages of:

Transforming and acquiring an earth mode: Get a sweet undercover style. Earth weapon systems. Agility/speed and armor plating and battle-ready.

Disadvantages:
Weaker in exposed "transforming areas."

And that's what I'm going to say....

Otherwise you have naked robots w/ useless vehicle modes "a meteor?" With the exception being Megatron and his badass jet. But really, Megatron is in his own class of transformers.

Naked Megatron vs. Armored Prime. You saw Brawl, that guy took a beating due to his alt mode and stood up to most of it for a while.

Bumblebee didn't repair himself. His voicebox was severly damaged and had to try REALLY hard to speak. His words were meaningful and strained himself to speak.

You couldn't easily understand him as much as the other Robots in the movie. I kind of like it that way, personally.

-Optimus calling the allspark "the cube" received a huge laugh at my screening. Very silly.
-The fact that Megan FOx's character was prety much an object. the only way she couldve been less of a person is if she was in a green jumpsuit that covered everything but her boobs and then CG-ed out the green later.
-Terrible dialogue
-The fact that The whole movie was built up to sam was supposed to make a sacrifice but he never did
- Use of every steryotype (especially with anthony anderson's character)
-Product placement
-Lack of definitive villain (megatron came in really really late)
-The fact that Sam knew a billion things that we never saw optimus say to him. theoretically you could say they talked about it off screen, but thats just cheap
-bumblebee got his legs back but jazz is gone forever. I mean i could see putting his legs back on because hes a robot. you can fix him. but the same principle should technically apply to jazz.

• Optimus was right, it is a cube. The entire audience understood the glory of the "allspark" that they laughed when he demeaned it and called it a cube?
• Isn't every chick that is hot in a movie? Look at Jessica Simpson and esp. Employee of the Month. EVERY scene in the movie includes her cleavage. Actually, Megan had sweet abs and pretty face, more included in the shots of the movie rather than her boobs. She also drove bumblebee, attacked Frenzy. She is a badass, and hot.
• Dialogue? Pretty hardcore. Shia was funny, Prime was a revered badass in the movie. Megatron was an evil SOB in actions and in speaking. The autobots all had personality. What was bad about the dialogue?
• Sam was willing to make the sacrifice. Not only that, he was willing to kill megatron along w/ himself when he pulled the allspark thing.
• Stereotypes are cool. He was a black hacker. Usually, those 2 do not go hand in hand. The hot Austrie chick was an amazing tech? Fox was a saw attacking, reverse car driving, juvie, hot automotive girl?
• Lack of a bad guy? The usual badguy is hardly ever revealed. Most movies have a twist as to who the real bad guys is (batman begins). We wanted AUTOBOTS & HUMANS vs. DECEPTICONS. The barricade scene is pretty damn scary if you ask me. Megatron is the bad guy, no one wanted to revive him and wanted to avoid that at all costs.
• Sam, smart guy. Lets see, Megatron wants allspark that creates technology into a being (an evil one at that apparently). Megatron wants to be all powerful, and would most likely use that power to create himself an army to accomplish his goals. Not very hard to see where he makes those correlations.
• Pure speculation. Lots of people are amputated, how many people do you see live after they are severed in half? They are living machines and feel pain. For all we know he died of shock...

Transformers is a great movie. I had my reservations. I AM A HUGE Spider-man fan and #3 was real disappointment. Transformers on the other hand delivered MUCH more than any of us on this board expected.

Another WTF Moment is when Optimus Prime used his eyes to create like a hologram breaking the street while he projected his and the Transformers story to sam and hottie.

It was a wtf in a good way I love that scene I just was shocked that Optimus had such a power.

I hope we see more of their once planet in the second movie. It's kind of like a Superman and Krypton moment those flash backs are always good.

I don't want to be rude when I say this but don't read a post that says ''WTF Moments in the movie'' and then get bothered that people are nick picking, I mean what part of ''WTF Moments'' did you think was people praising the movie? I don't believe it caused the destruction of Cybertron, however it being absent from Cybertron finally let it die. In the prequel comics it supposed to say it's absense let Cybertron die. I could be wrong, All Spark is very confusing.

Another WTF is all the bs product placement and advertisement.

Well, if you think about, Mikaela jus mentioned that she use to help her dad fix cars, and then Turturro pretty much put her on blast and exposed all of the "other" things that she did. So basically, she didnt tell Sam everything, so of course you would be a little upset.
