Your drinking lifestyle.

I didn't drink for new years, I still had a blast at the party. Of course people kept asking why I wasn't drinking. My response was simple, ''I'm a recovering alcoholic''-It eliminated the chance of people offering me a drink all night.

I am as well...

Still doesn't mean that I can't accept I have more fun when I drink.

The difference between our two avatars - my coffee's been "Irish"ed up...

I guess the only reason I ask is because I was never raised in a drinking environment and never really saw the appeal of it, but as I grow older and meet more people, I see how people always get excited on fridays to drink and whatnot, but its been hard for me too understand why.

And I think I picked up some of my mom's beliefs that drinking is "bad". Like I don't look down on people like she down, but it would be hard for me to want to date or even be friends with someone who either needs to drink to have a good time, or likes to drink, since I can't relate to that and feel like an outsider for it.

If I do have a drink it'll be just one beer, last time I got a bad hangover was on my 23rd birthday so I learned my lesson, besides drinking makes you fat and age quicker.

I don't know. I've found I still seem to have my birthdays one year at a time...

And I'm built like a stick figure...

I really don't drink at all anymore.

When I turned 21 I hit the bar with my friends every Friday and Saturday night. Sometimes on Sunday, especially when the Steelers played. I'd say from 21 to 24 those were my big drinking years. There was a period there where I drank almost every night.

Especially the one bar near where I lived had .50 cent Pabst Blue Ribbons and being low on funds made it economical to get wasted.

Then eventually I would get bad hangovers and the taste of beer or liquor would revolt me. So, I took a break and then went out every now and then...normally in social environments. Going out with people from work or when friends had birthdays or anniversary parties.

Now that all my friend and I are older. Most married with kids and with heavy responsibilities nobody really gets together all that often and I probably drink maybe a handful times a year.

Didn't even drink on New Years Eve this year because of my back injury and the medication that I take. I really don't miss alcohol at all because it makes me sick and I HATE hangovers. However, I do miss smoking pot, haha. Pot is pretty much the most awesome thing in the entire universe. It's just that it's expensive and, oh yeah, illegal. The government needs to get to working on legalizing it. :oldrazz:

I agree with you here.

I do drink often but with dinner. It's often a glass or 2 of wine, or maybe a cocktail with dinner. The going out and getting myself plastered days have gone by but I do enjoy drinking a bit once in a while when I do go out. I like beers and wine a lot, but I prefer them to incorporate them as part of my food instead of a reason to have fun with.

But for realz, I drink whenever I can get my hands on alcohol...seeing as how I'm almost 19 and living in the U.S., it's a trying process on my part.

Oh yes I drink. I started at 16 and have done it a lot since.

Problem is I've become more keen on it in the course of time. Lasy year (2011) was very alcoholic and I'm honestly a bit worried about it. Lately I've been feeling heartburns and started to gain weight because of alcohol. And I hope posting here while drunk is not illegal...

You post in the Batforums... We already assume you're under the influence of some deleterious substance.

Sometimes I wonder if i'd be a lot smarter if I hadn't drank through my adolescence...

And I swear, i'm getting stupider as time goes on!

I mean, look at me... I just wrote 'stupider'... :hehe:

And you didn't capitalise the "I" in "I'm"... or "I'd"...

And I started a sentence with an "and".

Look at us drunken gramatically/typographically challenged louts!

And I did it again! And again! And again... etc.

And now i've done it too!

See, the dangers of alcohol are never ending!

P.S. Your supposed to capitalise the I in i'm and i'd? ... Now I feel REALLY dumb...

'Tis truly a vicious cycle.

In all honesty I never used to drink, until I started going to conventions. Thats when it started cause you'd meet people, get on with them and eventually you'd need to go up to the bar at some point and they'd say "nah man, it's cool, I'll get this one". This is the mistake. Never let a round system start because you will be there forever, just drinking sparkly cocktails...

Yeh, the first time I went proper drinking I had about 7 bottles of Budwiser, 2 shots and 7 cocktails of something that was apple flavoured. I then had to be carried home and spent 2 hours vomiting. I then passed out for hours. In the monring I continued to vomit and pass out at random times. I got a look of disgut from Dave Gibbons and felt that I'd let him down :csad:

And thats how I learned to drink in moderation

As I've grown older, the desire to drink and get drunk has faded dramatically. I hardly ever drink, and when I go to a party, I only have a couple rum and cokes. Most of my friends drink alot; every night for some. That's just not my thing anymore. It suggests something is wrong when you gotta drink every night, especially if each night ends with you drunk. I dated a girl like that. Never again.

You should really cut back on it, I know what it's like, you sit in the house, on the net and listening to music, and it gives everything that heightened sense of excitement. Can't you even switch to smoking pot? It's much better, and healthier if you want that little heightened bit of excitement now and again.
anyway, can't say much more, have to go, just be careful with the drinking el payaso.

Somehow, I manage to repeat the above scenario every single time I drink, and never learn the lesson...

Same things happened to me. Heartburn real nasty, really really bad hangovers that last all day and sometimes too, weight gain etc.

But I know what it is.

I'm just getting old :p

I'm a 24 year old still trying to party like I did when I was 18... but my poor body has been dealing with alcohol poisining it for almost 10 years now.

Heartburn, stomach aches and hangovers that bad are it's way of saying 'GIVE ME A BREAK!'

I don't go out half as much as I used to now, but my problem is still knowing how to drink in moderation.

Once I start, I have absolutely no recognition of when i've had enough... i've never had enough.

I feel like the luckiest boy in the world. I do not get hungover. No matter what.

Got with two of my buddies when I turned 16. Got REALLY drunk. Horrible hangover.

I am almost 18 now, and I still have not drank since.

Same here. I will get a hangover, but i have to be really knocking them back. Normally, I don't feel that bad and I just shake it off.

To be honest ... I'm not sure if that is a good thing :csad:
