Your Favorite Franchises

The opening of ToD is a better movie than the one that follows.

Same could be said about Mac's stories in Crystal Skull.

Crusade lost me when the old crusader who's been living in a room for several hundred years showed up.

Anybody else like the Lethal Weapon movies?

You mean the franchise that has one good albeit overrated movie, and a bunch of mediocre sequels? :o

Yes but beg to differ.
The 1st & last ,as bookends, make 2 good films for the franchise.
But many franchises ,you can point out, dont have ALL strong entries in them.
Look at what others are saying about Indiana Jones.

Here's a great list of franchises if anyone's forgotten any,

http://www.filmsite.org/series-boxoffice.html

Pixar-Disney - is still mostly a brand
Star Wars - my attention starts and ends with the cartoon
Harry Potter - I fell off the train for inexplicable reasons
Middle Earth - LOTR = fav trilogy / lost interest in Hobbit
X-Men - through all its ups and downs, still my favorite
Star Trek - works better as a show
Fast and the Furious - keeps getting better
Madagascar - dethroned Shrek as the funniest animated franchise of all time
Planet of the Apes - only saw the 2001 one and the recent rebooted prequels; definitely plan on seeing the older ones
Terminator - seen everything; only the show and Salvation seem to want to actually make it grow which is what I stick around for
TMNT - I'm there!
Saw / Final Destination / Nightmare on Elm Street - can't resist creative kills
Underworld - can't resist Beckinsale/Mitra
Evil Dead - did a marathon for the first time (all but AoD I was watching for the 1st time) and loved each one

Be prepared for a very different viewing experience with the older Apes films then....

Batman
Superman
Transformers
Star Wars (except the prequels)
X-Men (does not include Wolverine and Deadpool films)
Fast & Furious (just the first two, the rest are overrated junk)
Terminator
Ghostbusters (except the remake)
Back To The Future
Gremilins
Spider-Man
The Matrix
A Nightmare On Elm Street
Hellraiser
SAW
Final Destination
Alien series
Iron Man
Marvel Cinematic Universe (this one is iffy as I only like Hulk and Iron Man, the rest are just serviceable)

MCU
Star Wars
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
How to Train Your Dragon
Alien
Halloween

For me off the top of my head DCEU, MCU, XCU, James Bond, Resident Evil and Underworld (you never said they had to be good!), Insidious, The Conjuring, Blade.

This is not ranked in any way...

LOTR - Not Hobbit, which was ****, but LOTR. Some of the best movies ever made.

X-Men (including spin-offs) - grew up with it. Favorite of all superhero franchises. It had its flaws, but it rocks anyway.

Harry Potter - also grew up with it. Read all the books. Classic ****.

Star Wars
- it's freakin' SW. Do I have to say anything else?

That's my top 4. I like dozens of other franchises, but these I can watch anytime, anywhere. I didn't put MCU in because I don't like it so much as a whole - some movies are excellent, while the majority is passable. Not great, not bad.

590

I have a lot

MCU
Star Wars
Romero's Dead Series
Terminator
Aliens
Predator
Robocop
View Askew Universe
X-Men
Sony's Spider-Man
Lethal Weapon
Ghostbusters 1, 2 & the videogame
Indiana Jones
the classic horror monsters (Dracula, Frankenstien, Wolfman, Mummy)
modern horror (Halloween, Nightmare, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw)

I was too old for Harry Potter first time round and don't have any children so missed them on that score too, so I picked up the box-set on blu-ray some time back and making my way through them, done 1-3 so far, Goblet of Fire next and am hugely impressed by them.

They are perfect 'easy watch' viewing, proper Sunday afternoon escapism.

Not really into franchises overall, but Batman and The Matrix are still relevant to me.

Star Wars

MCU

Batman

Star Trek

Transformers (not the Bayverse)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Halloween
Star Wars
Friday The 13th
007
A Nightmare On Elm Street
Star Trek
Lord Of The Rings
Conan The Barbarian
