Your Favorite Line from Spider-Man 3

Great scene:

"Want a drink? I'm sorry, what was I thinking? Bad for the public image, right Mr. Key-to-the-City?"
"What did you do to her?"
"I did what you failed to do...I was there for her. Mary Jane and I...we understand each other."
"She doesn't know what you are."
"Peter, she knows me very well. And when she kissed me, it was just like she used to kiss me. That taste.....strawberries."

"Remember Ben Parker? the old man you shot down in cold blood?"
"...What does it matter to you anyway?"

"EVERYTHING!!!"

i love the way he says "everything". it sounded much more violent and fierce than in the trailers

Yeah that was the best line in the movie. Next to it is the Goblin jr. line.

BZZZZT!

JJJ: WHAT?!
BB: Time for your pills sir
JJJ: (reaches for a bottle)

BZZZZT!
BB: Not those, sir
JJJ: (reaches for another bottle)
BZZZZT!
BB: Not those either, sir.
JJJ: (Points at a bottle of pills)
BB: (Nodds)
JJJ: Opens bottle of pills
BZZZZT!
BB: with plenty of water sir

and of course, I can't believe this wasn't mentioned...

Stan Lee: 'Nuff Said.

I'm going to be in a total minority here but I'd have like to have seen steve ditko. you know, the person responsible for how spidey LOOKS (after 40 years all that has changed about spidey is his under arm webs)

sure many wouldn't know what he looks like but it would be a nice gesture by sam. spidey WAS NOT CREATED BY STAN LEE ALONE.

having the landlord called 'Mr. Ditkovitch' is a small gesture ditko deserves more.

"I love that little giggle. Hey, hold the door, pops!"

What struck me as subtlely funny about this line is that as we all know Tobey Maguire played Red Pollard in Seabiscuit and Red Pollard's nickname for Seabiscuit was "Pops."

I guess my pick has to be "Where do these guys come from?" (I think this is the line?) as Peter's shaking out all the sand from his costume. The poor guy gets superpowers and of course he has to face equally as super powered villains. I suppose he wishes that all he had to face were your common, garden variety street crooks eh?

"Harry.......remember me? I was right about her. About Peter. About everything. You know what you must do. Make him suffer. Make him wish he were dead. First, we attack his heart!"

What I love about this is the whole thing is a Spider-Man 1 reference. When Harry sees MJ holding Peter's hand, he come home and says "You were right about MJ. About Peter. About everything."

The rest of the lines are when the Goblin mask is on a chair and Norman is talking to it. Love it.

I miss Willem Defoe as Norman having meaningful conversations with that Green Goblin mask. :(

now tickle this...

jazz scene rocked...

can't believe no one has mentioned

'Peter Pecker'
'no, parker'
'That's what i said.....Pecker'

You ARE in the minority. There's a difference between being an artist and being the editor-in-chief who came up with the character.

But the thing that took away from that scene is Harry's Master plan that came afterwards.

"Miss Watson is easy on the eyes, but not on the ears. Her small voice doesn't carry past the first row."
"That's not true, I was there."
"Peter, you were IN the first row."

"Ah yes, Mr. Pecker."
"No no, Parker."
"Dat iz what I said...Pecker."

"You didn't get any of this on you, did you?"
"No..why?"
"Well, once these things begin to bind, they're very hard to...un-bind."

"Tell it to my father...raise him from the dead."

"We used to be so good."
"Are you kidding? We were terrible...AND we tried out for the varsity team!"
"For the cheerleaders..."
"Yeah..."

I'm surpised this hasn't popped up more often. Definitely my choice.

One more thing that annoyed me about SM3; EVERYTHING was a one-liner. There was no dialogue.

last word on the subject as I don't want to hijack the thread but if not for ditko spidey's outfit could have been any colour, he could have been big and hulking rather than slim and wirey, he maybe wouldn't have had his big white eyes with the back rim and maybe no spider front and back and probably no webs either.

think about it, what is recognised more about spidey all over the world:

how he acts or how he looks?

I'm thinking that you must've got a bump on your head like Harry after watching the movie.

Ha! "no dialogue"! What does that mean? You don't need to over exaggerate.

An interesting question, but one that ultimately cannot be answered.

Spidey does have the Greatest Costume in Comics, I think that's a pretty universally-agreed-upon opinion. And Ditko certainly deserves a lot of credit. But would that costume have been enough to propel him into the public consciousness back in the 1960s? Some would argue that Lee's unique portrayal of a "wallflower" teen-ager as the super-hero who loses as often as he wins is what made Spidey so captivating. I think most of us who have been Spidey fans for decades have remained faithful to the character more because of Peter Parker than Spider-Man. But that's certainly debatable.

Plus, considering what a recluse Ditko is - he NEVER attends any comic cons, and refuses to even draw Spider-Man for commissions (which could earn him a TON of dough), there's no way he'd ever agree to appear in a Spidey movie, IMO. Stan has fun with his public image; Steve chooses not to even have one.

As for my favorite line, it was definitely "Miss Brant that's not the position I hired you for!" Betty was so hot in that scene - I'm surprised Peter didn't do the classic "web JJJ's mouth shut" move right then and there and continue gettin' bizzy with Ms. Brant, secret ID be darned! :cwink:

Also, someone mentioned Mr. Ditkovich's "HE... he is good boy..." The first time I saw SM3, I thought he said "He is good BYE," as in, a broken English version of "I'm going to kick him out!" But his later behavior (offering Pete an orange, giving him relationship advice) made me think I must've misheard him. I heard it right the second and third times!

It's pretty truthful, though. It really reminds me of some musicals I watch.

Line.

Laugh.

Reponse.

Laugh.

Rinse and repeat. That's the way SM3 was for me.

"So good."

"That is what I said... Pecker."

I don't think Steve Ditko would appear in the film even if he was asked (he very well may heve been asked). He's a recluse that doesn't want to be involved in the comic world anymore.

I have a bunch:

"It's Brock, sir, Edward Brock Jr. I come before you today, humbled and humiliated, to ask you for one thing... I want you to kill Peter Parker"

"Are you smiling? Just kidding"

"Seeya, chump"
"What the hell?!"

All of Topher's lines were perfectly delivered.. I loved 'em all.

"Now dig on this"

Bruce Campbell in that restaurant with the "Allo" :woot:

And of course Harry with the "so good" and "strawberries"

"No he despised you, you were an embarassment to him. Oh look at little Goblin Jr., gonna cry?"

When Spider-Man got the key to the city and said: "Shazam!" that was funny

Bruce Campbell: "Ahhh uhh........Hello" and "I Like You"

Harry: "I Know That Face!" only cuz he sounded like such a dork that it was funny

Eddie: "Hey Spidey Hold On Bugle Needs A Photo, Thank God You're OK"

Mr. Ditkovich: "He Is Good-Bye"

Peter: You'll Get Your Money When You Fix This Damn Door!"

JJJ: "Parker! Parker! I Need A Photographer, Hey Kid You Want A Job?"

Spider-Man: "This Thing Got Anymore?"
Harry: "Hold On"
Spider-Man: "To What?"
