I am actually don't collect anymore...I haven't in a LONG time...partly because I have so many of the originals it's almost impossible to find the ones I don't have. I do have a list on my computer of which one's are in the collection...however the collection has long since been placed into boxes and now sits in my attic. I imagine I'll keep them in hopes of either selling them or completing the collection (at which point I bet I'd sell them).

my absolutely favorite toy was the 1986 Kenner Super Powers Superman action figure...

as a kid, I used to go through these like paper... at one point, my parents had bought me 5 of them just to keep up with me, lol

does plush count? if so my kong doll,id bought a pvc baby gorilla at the museum and mentioned that he needed a father(the baby repped little kong from "king kong lives" and "son of kong" though he wasnt white) and so my grandma bought me a gorilla doll,to this day he sits in the hulk room with the rest of his family.

If were talking toys then My Soft vinyl marvel super heros hulk.He saved my face from being torn apart by tar and glass,I fized his eye brow a bit but his scars are still there and out of respect i never bought another one to rep him in the main collection.

i got the takara version of this for my boyfriend this summer  it's currently posed like the fonz () on his dresser.

i second all of ATP's picks... also add the board games mouse trap and guess who. and like a million other toys.

my current favourite toy is my cyclops wind-up. i even made a youtube video of it.

One of my favorite toys as a kid was the Ninja Turtle Blimp, I had so much fun with that thing...till the day my f'ing cat popped it. I guess I shouldn't have been chasing him with it and dropping bombs on him. :(

Does anyone know which version of the big deluxe "Masterpiece" Optimus Prime / Convoy is the best? I've heard people say that the Japanese version has more die-cast metal parts than the US version, but I have yet to confirm this. Also, is the 2006 version better than the 2004 version in any way?

I think it's the Jap Version > 2004 > 2006

Jap Version is kinda "dirtier" battle version, longer smoke stacks.
2004 is what you see above.
2006 is almost identical to 2004 but like they made the gun blue instead of gun-metal but it does come with the stand with sounds from the movie.

i'm not sure about the die-cast metal parts, but i think Takara released a version of OP with a functioning trailer attachment (MP-04) in 2006, which the earlier versions didn't have.

eta: oh, you mean the DVD version... the pipes on the arms or shorter and he's way more ... orange than the 2004 version.

I still have mine. With all the capes too.

but I'm sure I had the Korean version. I seem to recall it was orange  and I'm sure the box said something like " robots build then transform" or something that made about as much sense.

heh, the MP-01 (optimus prime) Takara box has "more than meets teh eye" on it somewhere.

I want the MP-05 Megatron. Here's hoping they let it ship to the States.

I grew up with Mego, G.I Joe, Super Powers, Secret Wars, Transformers, Star Wars and Atari. The 70's and 80's were the best years for toys.
