Your Lounge, Should You Choose To Accept It

Is that when a white guy from Orlando goes to study liberal arts in college and starts growing blonde dreadlocks and performing spoken word poetry?

All correct, except it is unspoken word poetry... :o

what's everyone up to today?

i got a load of laundry going while i also:
checked all my emails
resized some photos i've been putting off
hung up clothes
started a box to donate
took out some trash

nice to knock some stuff off the list

Got off work, gave the dog a bath. Got a few of my packages in through the mail. Continuing to obsess and worry about the one that's been setting in China for 20 days waiting for plane space.

Now, Im going to get some food, maybe catch a movie with friends. Then heading over to the hospital after to visit my relative. Just not sure which movie. Already saw Jurassic World 2, I guess whatever they feel like.

My days off are Tue and Wed. so... Just another work day for me.

Most of the time TGIF means nothing to me, but I actually am off this whole weekend. Sunday I’m going to a friend’s cookout up at Lake Erie.

We are supposed to have a softball tournament tomorrow but I think it’s going to be rained out. As much as I want them to play, I wouldn’t mind having another day off

I haven't done ANY grilling this year so far. I really should get on that before the end of summer.

Ifinished the new Thrawn novel. Now it's time for Netflix and Reek.

I have a rare weekend off myself. No plans except to see MI6 again with friends who haven't seen it yet at one of the Smithsonian IMAXes. Outside that, I plan on vegging and finding a show to watch and doing absolutely nothing productive.

You ever get around to ALTERED CARBON? I forget if we ever chatted about that?

The first three episodes, though I'm moving at a snails pace. Kinnaman is good, but as far as I'm concerned it's the James Purefoy show.

MI is something I will try to catch during the coming week. I don't have a particularly soft spot for the films, even the highly rated GP was, for me, just okay. But I appreciated RN a lot. It was a good propulsive action film. So I am looking forward to the same director with the same cast delivering something just as cracker jack.

Kinnaman and that lady cop were the weak links of Altered Carbon for me.

This was a case, a rare case, where two characters seemed to be in two different types of shows and it works. When you want some tasty ham... Call Purefoy, see what he's up to.

I have a soft spot for great stunt work, so that series (after the 3rd one) gets me more than most franchises, tbh.

While I wouldn't give her an academy award I thought she was more than just serviceable. Of course... As a man I can't deny her sultry nature is probably affecting my assessment. :sly:

Joel though... I actually thought this was the best I have ever seen him in, granting that I have yet to see HOUSE OF CARDS. But I saw season one of THE KILLING. He delivered for me on being both a cynical badass as well as a tortured soul.

I was a big fan of Joel in The Killing, but I don't think I've seen anything else from him that matches that level of performance. But then again, The Killing itself is one of the best recent tv series I've seen in some time, everyone was fairly great in that.
