Thankies. I know you were probably looking forward to more updates since it was originally intended as a graphic novel, but I really can't devote 5+ years drawing the whole thing out, lol.

I'll eventually post new artwork in my thread though, since I do still plan on doing some illustrations inside, as well as the book cover.

Personally, I stopped after World War Hulk. I liked Planet Hulk, but WWH just completely turned me off of comics. Though I do keep up just a little thanks to YouTube.

I watch a guy named Rob who goes by Comicsexplained. He has a good voice, and shows enthusiasm for comics, so it's like storytime, lol. He does entire story arcs, so I atleast have a rough idea. It's not the same as reading a comic, but it's entertaining still.

World War Hulk bored me as an event, World War Hulks is a mess.

It reminds me of when they decided to make Tom and Jerry friends, and then the cartoon started to suck donkey balls at that point.

I didn't have anything to eat for hours so I can't blame this on food. I just woke up from a doozy of a dream where I was taking care of an infant that suddenly disappeared from its crib and I literally then had the double fake out ending where in the dream I thought I was waking up from a dream but then turns out, no, still a dream and then I thought I was awake for real only to have still been dreaming. I woke up yelling "Where's the baby?! Where's the baby?!" like a maniac. My heart is still racing.

For me, I'm a continuity guy. If you make x the rules of your world. If you don't stick to it it turns me off. I'm not saying no character growth, as I love character growth. I just want the character to be recognizable. I'm also not advocating stagnation. It's just that Marvel comics has slowly moved away from feeling like Marvel to me. Spiderman was on the receiving end of a lot of bad choices, IMO. Then the X-Men, and F4 were pushed aside. Things I loved about Marvel felt like they were being drowned out.

WWH was just the straw that broke the camel's back for me. To me, it read like a Hulk fanboys wet dream. Everyone, including entire teams, and a returning Juggernaut got fed to Hulk. Dr Strange acted like an idiot. It just felt like everything was pushed aside just so Marvel could have another big event.

I guess I felt like if they don't care about their own characters, or established universe, why should I? I came away feeling like any character breaking change could be made on a whim if it could sell a book a little better. I could be over reading, but that's how I felt. I know others loved WWH, so it's just personal taste.

Joking aside, I hate those types of dreams. Where you want to wake up, and think you have, only to realize you're still dreaming.

Went ahead, and caught a matinee of The Meg today in Imax. I went in expecting a popcorn flick light on story, big on special effects, and got it. Plus I'm not a big Stratham fan, so my expectations were low. That said, I actually enjoyed it. Far from the best film ever, but I liked it more than Deep Blue Sea as far as shark movies go.

When I read that at first I was mixing up Gabriel with Enrique Iglesias and I had a killer mole joke all geared up and ready to go... Alas...

There was stuff I liked and stuff I disliked about WWH.

I think the concept was great and I was on board for most of it's events but... I guess I'm coming from a similar place but it's not exactly about continuity per se but more the "inherent dignity of the characters" which is a phrase I like to use. Like, I don't have a problem with Hulk and the Warbound coming and and kicking ass... But they didn't just kick ass they curb stomped everyone. Okay... I get that Hulk and Banner were united and both PISSED OFF. That's fine and yeah, a Hulk like that which is focused and angry? I can buy him being able to handle a whole lot of characters perhaps even easily. Like the Juggernaut thing didn't bother me because Marko was at a lower ebb at that point and it was only at the end of the X-Men crossover that he regained Cytorak's favor and matched Hulk for power and Hulk just sort of got Juggy out of the way after that and didn't pummel him (like he did Wolvie and as much as I like Logan... That was satisfying in it's way) into nothing and the rationale for Cain staying out of things was fine when he showed up at the mansion again cuz he had basically turned heel again to regain his full power.

But... Then there's the Warbound curb stomping the Avengers... THE AVENGERS. I mean, fine the Warbound were cool characters but the team of Avengers, both teams (this was post Civil War with Tony having his group and Luke having his and... There were some major hitters on both sides) got taken out far too easily. It's fine if some characters proved to be the match of some of Earth's Mightiest. I thought it was cool when Iron Fist went fist to fist with one and they basically negated each other more or less saying the technique/power was essentially the same. But instead the "inherent dignity of the characters" was trampled on far too easily. There are a myriad of ways to give the Warbound a win over the Avengers, strategy and tactics being the best way. But they just rolled over them like they were nothing.

Then you had a moment that could have truly been epic and I would have been fine if the character had lost to Hulk but it wasn't worthy of the rivalry and history between the characters and that was when Hulk goes after Reed and he and Ben Grimm slug it out and it's over in a few punches. NO. Just no. This is one of the great rivalries of the Marvel Universe and Hulk was gunning for Ben's best friends. I get it... Hulk was more focused and cunning than ever with Banner and him of one purpose, yadda-yadda... But this is the Ever Lovin' Blue Eyed THING here. Ben's not only no slouch in just power and durability he's a veteran super hero and fighter and he's motivated by fearing for the life of his best friend. This should have been the Hulk and Thing's most epic, brutal and most emotionally charged fight of all time given the circumstances with Ben giving it his all until he was basically at death's door... But nah, they traded like four blows and Hulk took him out. I'm really a bigger Hulk fan than I am the FF but that felt like it was a missed opportunity to do something awesome action wise but also honoring the strange relationship between Marvel's two most angst ridden "monsters". But it was done in a couple of panels.

I could go on about the nonsense of the Sentry or the lackluster ending reveal... But I actually don't want to come off like I'm ****ting totally all over it since there's stuff I liked in it and the core concept is sound and there were some great moments spread throughout and the crossover miniseries were for the most part pretty good and entertaining. But there were too many moments that still stick in my craw.
