and I'm a big animated flick buff, but I simply didn't go out to see them on the big screen. Sis dragged me to that one. Don't regret it because best Pixar movie in almost a decade.

What made you not go see animated movies in theaters if you are such a fan of them? I mean, they are best appreciated on a big screen in my view.

The same reason I didn't go see movies in theaters until some years back. Moviegoing like any other attraction is best experienced with a group and my folks were certainly in no rush.

was jafar straight to dvd? i thought i remember seeing it in theatres?
It didn't come to theaters in my country, straight to tapes.

I know Rescuers Down Under was in theaters because it was the first animated film I saw in theaters and I had no clue it was even a sequel for the longest time. When I finally got around to see The Rescuers years later, I found it quite disappointing. RDU was much better, imo.
It sucks that it wasn't a box office success, that is one time a sequel is truly superior to the first movie. I admit enjoying the first whenever I see it.

...Finding Dory was the first animated movie I've seen in theaters

My first animated movie in theaters was the third Pokemon movie. React to that.

This is the only animated film I intend to see in theatres:

Eh... It won't have this in it so why should I spend the cash?

It's funny. I remember Final Fantasy: The spirit within being the first really talked about all CGI movie. Mainly it got panned, and I can remember Conan O'Brien saying, "No people in the movie, no people in the theater". Yet CGI movies are so popular now.

More talked about than Toy Story 1&2?

Those came first but I think Fading was referring to how FF was the first film using CG graphics to attempt photo realistic rendering for an entire feature. The Toy Story films for all their artistry aren't animating characters that are supposed to look like real people. I think that's why FF got a lot of attention despite it being a rather lack luster film.

Yes, that too. Thanks for putting it better than I did. But that being said, for some reason I did remember it's release date wrong. That it came 6 years after Toy Story wasn't how I remembered it, lol. I knew Toy Story came first, I just forgot it was that early.

Designs and animation hold up for that movie really well, it's a shame that the movie itself is such a dull experience.
I remember seeing in the newspaper how they spent half the budget on the hair of the main forgettable character.

*Note: I have no idea if Fading is actually named Jim.

I don't even think that is a contest. RDU is 100% better.

Here's something I did not expect to see; the Rescuers is based on a book.

I'm much more excited than I thought I'd be at Patrick Stewart returning to Picard.

jessica lange returning to american horror story is more exciting

Oh yeah, I remember seeing RDU now.

I wake up and Capt. Picard is back.
