I don't mind when WWE uses real legitimate celebrities like Shaq, Mike Tyson, Lawrence Taylor, Pete Rose, Floyd Mayweather, Ronda Rousey, Mickey Rourke, Kevin Hart, or Hugh Jackman. What makes me mad is when they use people like Jerry Springer and Snooki. What rub are you actually getting from a talk show host that hasn't been relevant in years or some girl who was over with a certain segment of people because she's a hot mess?

I really wish I could hear Vince answer that question lol

Savage would have been great working with Bret and Shawn, unfortunately Vince's use of past stars is hit or miss. For every early 2000s Hulk Hogan run, 90s Bob Backlund run, or Chris Jericho's two amazing runs with the one that started in 2008 or the recent one, we get ones that really don't work. Sting's run in WWE really hurts me as a fan. I feel bad because of his injury, and selfishly I wanted to see Sting in WWE 10 years before he came. It just wasn't the same.

If you hear what Savage had in mind for a fued with HBK, You'd curse Vince for not going through with it.According to Lanny Poffo Randy was frustrated that no match reached the heights of his WM3 and saw Shawn as his opportunity to top it and go out on top. Also Bret vs. Randy for the wwe championship should have been the WM10 main event.

Also in ROH:

Seeds are planted for Adam Cole's departure. He should be challenging the Glorious One by the Summer.

Also, the reason that I was banging the drum for Undertaker to retire for several years is because I never wanted to feel what I felt watching Royal Rumble 2017. I will always have love for Taker, but man, he's one of those guys that I never wanted to see like that. I think Reigns might give him a solid match this year though.

Think we could see Finn vs. Joe vs. Sami at Mania? If it's Finn vs. Joe, Finn is going to have to lose and I don't want to see Finn lose his first televised match back from injury. Putting Sami in there and having him take the pin protects Finn and Joe.

And another thing to think about.....In light of when the steroid scandal put a black eye on wrestling. Imagine if Vince McMahon would have kept Ravishing Rick Rude, Arn, Tully, Flair, Steamboat, and Perfect happy along with moving them up the card, how much better do you think Bret and HBK's title Reigns would have been if they had those guys to feud with?

Agreed on both because I'm sure just from looking at the house show matches Shawn had with Macho that they could have done more for one and second when it comes to Bret vs Randy for Mania 10, that would have been a great feud especially if Hogan would have kept his promise to put Bret over at Summerslam. A feud with Macho of the strength of that could have been huge.

While true about how much better Bret and HBK's reigns would have been, all of those guys leaving led to the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Mankind and Kane. When Bret left for WCW and HBK left for four years to find god and recover from back injuries, those five guys stepped up. The Rock and Stone Cold had one of the greatest rivalries in wrestling history.

All thanks to NXT, I don't hate Triple H anymore. I also have no doubt that if it came down to it, he would put over Balor, Joe, Owens and Rollins clean.

Vince doesn't seem to have an idea whats going on pop culture wise. Remember when he killed Paul Burchill's pirate gimmick because he didn't know how popular the POTC movies were.

I still can't believe they're about to put AJ Styles in a match with a 47 year old executive at Wrestlemania.

This would be the equivalent of TNA putting him in a match with Dixie Carter's husband at Bound for Glory. If they tried to do that, every single fan on the internet and every single media personality who follows wrestling would be ripping TNA a new one... and rightfully so. But since it's WWE and since Shane has endeared himself to the fans by not being as big of an ass as his sister or father and taking some crazy bumps through the years, it'll hardly be an issue.

They should just rename it SportsEntertainmentMania.

Shane McMahon matches are guilty pleasures for me, so this doesn't upset me as much as it would other people. AJ is going to win anyways, and I'd rather see him 1-1 than 0-2 at Mania, which is what would have happened if he faced Taker or Finn Balor.

I'm sure all of us have guilty pleasures in wrestling as well as in movies and TV. One of my guilty pleasure shows was One Tree Hill.

So, do you have any wrestling guilty pleasures?

The definition of a guilty pleasure:

something, such as a movie, television program, or piece of music, that one enjoys despite feeling that it is not generally held in high regard.

That describes the WWE to a T. It's one big guilty pleasure these days, that's all the WWE is. And I am fine with it. If we look at the WWE like that, just one big guilty pleasure, than the wrestling forums would be less vile towards WWE.

It's all the WWE is these days, one big guilty pleasure. Comic book movies, the UFC (to a lesser degree), shared cinematic universes and the legit sports like football, soccer, basketball etc. are more legit and more mainstream forms of entertainment. WWE doesn't consume me 24/7. In fact I get more angry at the non-stop attempts to create shared cinematic universes than WWE's booking.

that Paul Burchill pirate gimmick was hot garbage

Capitalizing off the POTC franchise, which doesn't really need another movie. They should have stopped at the third one, but now they are on the fifth one. At least they aren't making a POTC shared cinematic universe.

I get more angry these days about the obsession over shared cinematic universes than WWE. Marvel, DC, Universal Monsters, Star Wars and King Kong/Godzilla should be it. Transformers should not have spin-off movies and no Robin Hood Shared Universe like I heard about when multiple Robin Hood movies are announced. Do we really need a Robin Hood shared universe? Or even multiple Robin Hood movies?

It's not so much about the record as it is about wasting the best in-ring performer they've got on the biggest show of the year.

This should be a showcase of professional wrestling greatness. It's the largest possible stage.

Styles should be in there with someone who can match his greatness. Kurt Angle, Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Hideo Itami, Bobby Roode, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Austin Aries, Akira Tozawa, Neville, Dean Ambrose, La Sombra (I can't remember what they're calling him in NXT... Almas something?), Rhino, Chris Hero, Roddy Strong, Chris Jericho, HHH... WWE isn't lacking for guys that could go out there and put on an incredible match

And he should be wrestling for a championship.

Styles should be turning out match of the year candidates at the biggest show of the year, like he did at Wrestle Kingdom, Bound for Glory, and Final Battle, etc.

Shane McMahon doesn't belong in a singles match at Mania. Some kind of gimmick tag/ladder/rumble match, sure.

But after the year AJ had in WWE, to saddle him with a 47 year old executive?

I am not going to obsess about it as I have said earlier.

As I have said earlier, The entire company of WWE is one big guilty pleasure. There are better entertainment values out there. For me, it's no big deal since Wrestling as a whole is not an obsession for me. For me, the biggest concern entertainment wise are GOTG Volume 2 and how Spidey is going to do in the MCU in his own solo feature, moreso than WrestleMania or whatever ROH or New Japan is going to do. This way of thinking makes me less angry at what the WWE does, as it's more indifference. You may not think this way, but I do. For me watching Wrestling (not just WWE) is low on my entertainment watch list. It's ahead of golf (because I'd rather watch paint dry than watch golf) but far behind all of the other entertainment and sports I watch.

That's how I feel anyways. I might be in the minority on this.

People should expect and demand better from WWE.

They have the talent
They have the platform
They have the infrastructure
They have the money
They have the knowledge
They have the history

And they almost always screw it up.

They are essentially the curators and creators of wrestling history in this country, for better or for worse. And the product they put out there is not worthy of that responsibility.

Don't care since WWE is not an obsession for me. In fact, I have mentioned before that I usually skip WWE PPV events after Summerslam for NFL games. Obsessing and nitpicking over every little thing the WWE does wrong would give me a headache.

With all other entertainment options, WWE is a guilty pleasure for me and as I said last time, low on my list of entertainment options.

It's not about nitpicking. If it were just WWE screwing up internally like they've been doing for nearly 2 decades, I wouldn't mind.

But now they're actively making other promotions I actually DO enjoy worse by signing away their talent, and they make the talent worse by not using them to their full potential.

-So my NJPW/ROH shows are worse because AJ is gone
-AJ is worse in WWE because of the creative and in-ring limitations that come along with it
-And since WWE doesn't use him right, they're not even improving their own product by the amount any other promotion in the world would by adding AJ Styles

AJ is entertaining no matter what they make him do, but WWE getting control of all these guys is bad for the overall quality of the wrestling we're seeing.

Note that I'm not saying it's wrong for WWE to sign these guys, nor are these guys wrong for signing in WWE. It's just that I see it as a waste.

It's like getting a Major League Baseball team and having them play slowpitch softball, or editing a George Carlin or Richard Pryor stand up show for broadcast TV. Get Leo DiCaprio and then put him in one of those cheesy Wayans Bros genre spoofs.

I don't care. As I have said, the WWE is low on my list of entertainment options. I care more about the NFL and the problems that league has than the WWE's problems. That's the great thing about the SHH forum in that there are a lot of options.

So you can continue to complain about the WWE all you want to. I don't care.

I am a little bit more casual than most in this forum due my priorities. Hell, even during the Monday Night Wars, Wrestling wasn't an obsession for me then. Do I know who a lot of the Indy guys and promotions are? Yes I do, but again Pro Wrestling is not at the top of my list of entertainment options. It's why I prefer to talk about wrestlers like Dave Batista or Dwayne Johnson and the movies they do rather than obsessing over the fact that the WWE misuses their talent.
