Your top ten films decade by decade

With all of these top ten lists going around lately, I thought I'd try my hand at one.. We've had top ten films of the decade, but how about a top ten list of films, for every decade?

I was born in the mid-1980's, so I'll be starting off there with my top ten choices.

The 1980s

A pretty iconic year for cinema as Steven Spielberg was consistenly making box office smash after box office smash..

I was pretty young during this decade though, so I didn't see a whole lot of these films during their original release in theaters.

But first, Before I get my official top ten list, here are some honorable mentions.. (okay, i'm cheating a bit..)

The 1990s

This next list was a difficult one for me to compile. Lots of great films in the 1990s.. Personally, I think the 1990's was the best decade for cinema.

The 2000's was another great decade for film, in my opinion. This was when superhero movies became their own genre and comic book films dominated the cinema.

The Godfather

The Godfather Part 2

I'm ashamed to admit I have not seen these films in their entirety. (3 hours is a long movie) but i've seen lengthy bits on AMC from time to time. I can see why this film is revered as such a classic. Fantastic acting by the cast.
