Where I live most of the traffic lights blink yellow when it gets late, so you don't really run into many red lights if you're driving late at night.

But in the hypothetical question, no I wouldn't because I have the worst luck with traffic lights and the police pulling me over.

People that commit petty crimes are easier to find than drug dealers and murderers, that's why. You see people doing stuff like running lights in broad daylight all the time, and they do have quotas to fill.
