You just became the new writer of an x-men title... who do you sign-up as your roster? Maximum number of members: 7

Mine are:

Nightcrawler (Leader)
Shadowcat
Marvel Girl (Rachel)
Dazzler
Cannonball
Beast
Iceman

I'm torn between Rachel and Siryn, but I have to go with the telepath - I mean this is a mutant team.

I always like it when they bring in somewhat minor characters that haven't worked together very often, and explore the relationships and dynamics.

My plot would evolve around exploiting Iceman's untapped abilities, and have his powers go out of control (kind of like a male Dark Phoenix version of him... only with everything on the planet that involves moisture), as a result of Emma not repairing the damage she did when she turned them back on (a few issues back). I would write as him becoming a global threat, by unwillingly causing tidal waves, tsunami's, ice age effects in tropical places, and changing the environment for the worse. And it's up to everyone to contain him before he destroys the planet.... The only problem is, he can be in more than one place at a time.

My team would involve:

Cannonball
Sunspot
Mystique
Rockslide
Beast
Dust
Special guests: The Avengers, The Watchers, and Dr. Doom

I PROMISE MINES WAS JUST LIKE THAT WITH STORM!!!!!
Anyway, my plot is Ororo's weather manipulating abilities growing mor powerful for her to control. It also deals with her coming into her magic abilities which she can't control. The X-men go to trackdown an evil mutant who is planning to destroy the earth. While their, Cannonball is injured very badly. Storm then really gets angry and summons a hurricane. Only since her powers have been getting too powerful for her to control, the hurricane sweeps out and knocks her off her feet. The mutant locks her in a buried casket where her claustrophobea kicks in. When she is released she is very differnet and is covered in full bright elemental energy that overwhelms the evil mutant and destoys him. Aaaah what the heck..the story was better when i had it in my imgination but now i cant seemto make a plot.

Anyway, here my team:

Storm
Beast
Cannonball
Elexir
Wind dancer
Hellion
Rachel

Introducing: Dark Goddess!

Copycat :O :)

So if Storm was so "in control" before, how can it all of a sudden get out of control? You didn't explain that. Emma's tampering with Iceman's brain was my catalyst for his dark powers. What's yours?

LOL,She was coming into her magic abilities which screwed over with her weather manipulating powers.

Why would she focus on her magic potential though?

She isn't focusing on it its just coming to her in a certaint stage in her life. Sorta like her mutation. I didn't want it to come when she was 13 or a teenager or whatever because its a little too wired 4 a teen to have magic.

Ah, like that. Magic doesn't work like that in the MU though.

Uh oh..... This thread isn't going to become another STORM debate..... isn't it?

How is saying "Why would she focus on her magic potential though?" gonna become a Storm debate?

^Dude WTF are you talking about?! Nothings about to turn into a Storm debate. At The "Storm discussion thread" you kept bringing it up for no reason and now you think just becuase someone asked a question about Storm its gonna become a debate?

She has to learn how to use magic...and that takes many many many years. It just dosent happen.

Anytime two people or more consistently talk about one specific character for more than one or two pages of posts, it becomes a...... DEBATE.

And this certainly seems to be headed in that direction.... Just my observation, that's all. :(

I stick with the original 5 and tell great stories, the way it should have been from the beginning.

He only asked one question about Storm....1 lousy question and you think its a debate. If you post your plot and characters then of course someone will want to discuss it...this must be your first time making a thread?:o

I'd go for an unlikely and second/third tier heroes like X-Factor with maybe one or two professionals and the odd reformed villain. Here it is:
1) Deadpool
2) Toad
3) Sunspot
4) Cannonball
5) Husk
6) Magma
7) Dust
or
1) Bishop
2) Toad
3) Sunpyre
4) Elixir
5) Dust
6) Iceman
7) Moonstar

Well, now the team with Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Banshee, and Colussus wasn't too bad, was it? Kitty too, and I would even add in Emma as a good addition to the X-Men.

I've been doing several X-men team variations in my fanfics, but I think my favorite team that I've been using is:

Nightcrawler (in most circumstances, he'd be the leader)
Wolverine
Psylocke
Kitty Pryde
Colossus
Dazzler
Nocturne

I think that group just has great chemistry together...

Actually, I was saying that "I HOPE IT'S NOT" turning into a debate.

Personally, my story would probably globalize the mutant problem again, it would definetly be seen as an annoying recon to M-Day, but I liked Morrison's turn when he truly made the mutant problem global and big, but was still able to focus on character development. I would probably add a new character that turns people into mutants, and this how the mutant population continues to rise. It would be dealt with over several arcs though, and this character might not know his ability in the first place. What do you guys think? My team is really hard for me to decide so I've made two possible choices:

1. Cyclops
2. Nightcrawler
3. Shadowcat
4. Iceman
5. Colussus
6. Jean Grey

or

1. Beast
2. Wolverine
3. Rogue
4. Havok
5. Polaris

I like that idea, like a reunion with the 5 as a team.

Shadowcat w/Lockheed
Colossus
Cannonball
Psylocke
Firestar
Unuscione
Sunspot

Get back with the story arc details, working it out in my head right now.
