Its that old saying my friend, ignorance is bliss. Believe me, i sometimes i wish i never knew about any of this stuff and i could just enjoy the movie for what it is. But the truth is Zack Snyder has an almost entirely different shot movie thats 3 and a half hours long and almost done sitting in film reel canisters in his house.

Yeah this, I can enjoy JL in its current iteration depending on my mood as a switch your brain off type deal.

But I just know there is a much more epic and for me as a fan of Snyder, better version of the movie out there I really want to see.

To me the Theatrical cut seems like a fan film put together from trailers and clips from other movies. I'm still waiting for the genuine article.

That's why I have always said what if Snyder's Justice League is actually very very good how could that effect that things. Because you could actually see it breath new life into Superman, maybe two different takes on Batman, and more. And I am not talking and the Snyder Freaks (because they honestly will never be satisfied unless you do his whole arc) but I am talking about the general public.

Reports of massive reshoots were true and we all assumed that they were only doing some minor shooting that was not completed by Snyder.

That is the worry isnt it. Its now a question of would anything less than Snyder’s full vision placate those people. This whole thing had become this weird game of chicken, WB wont acknowledge any of this probably hoping it’ll eventually blow over and the fans are only growing louder and angrier. Who will blink first? Lol

I don't know if it does. I think the main difference is that we know there's a (mostly) finished movie sitting in Zack's hands, whereas the remainder of the proposed vision is nothing more than maybe some outlines. It's harder to get the same level of support from casual fans and the cast.

I doubt we'll see the same online push for more ZS unless his cut of JL is so good that even casual fans and people are like "WE WANT MORE".

Just the logistics for a movie to have 3 different releases over the span of 5+ years seems unlikely.

That scenario is put forth a lot, but I don't know how realistic it is. The Snyder fans who have been fighting and campaigning for this? Sure. I'm sure they'll love it and be thrilled.

But I have a hard time imagining that the general reception would be so much massively better than BVS or MOS that it'd convince the studio to bring back Snyder and recommit to the original plan.

It wont. It will be just as divisive as those two movies. Im sure there will be non ZS fans who will see it as an improvement over the theatrical but by and large a three and a half hour prolonged version of something they already dont like isnt gonna sway people not onboard.

That's how I see it at best it will be received as well as MOS was and at worse BvS: TC.

And that's why I think there's no harm in releasing it. Financials, logistics, etc aside, I don't think this will cause massive repercussions. The hardcore fans will probably still riot regardless, but with time they'll fade away as we progress further into the new slate of movies.

At this point, I just think it's a matter of time. I'm sure we'll see it. Don't know if Zack will get any additional shooting done, but I'm sure we'll see his JL in some capacity.

I’m more than happy to see it in whatever form its in right now even with incomplete and pre- viz effects. Zack himself would not want people to see it that way though.

I think the thing to remember is that for us, we watch this thing and then our worlds keep on spinning. But for Zack, this is his career and there are a lot of eyes on this thing. No one has as much skin in the game as he does, so yeah it makes total sense that he wants it to be perfect. It may still fail, but at least it was his failure.

Which is also why Zack is encouraging all of this. The guy put all this time and effort into it and he wants his work released. I know theres an argument to made that he should get over it and this is how Hollywood is and all that but i can certainly imagine Zack feeling very slighted by this whole ordeal and wants restitution.

Not only that you have to look at how WB handled things when he left and how they put out a version of the movie with his name on it that was mostly reshot. So you can understand why he is pushing for this movie.

The main reshoots for these elements would seem to have been action beats/pieces of the Superman VS League battle, where Superman became less of a threat to humanity and more to just the league itself, and the resolution of the Mother Box subplot in the third act, which became about teaming up Superman/Cyborg instead of Cyborg getting tempted by Apokoliptan technology.

The way they made changes for the elements in question would seem to have been more along the lines of cutting/editing Darkseid, The Knightmare, Flash time traveling, Cyborg's origin sequence and familial scenes and a good bit of the Amazonians VS Apokolips backstory out of the film, and leaving pieces of those scenes intact. That wouldn't require massive reshoots for those specific elements, just to remove them from the film.

Much of Joss's marching orders seems to have been to streamline and focus the film and compress Snyder storylines usng existing footage and reshot sequences.

You're wrong here most people who worked on the movie has even said about 10% of what we saw in JL was Snyder. The rest was Joss. They pretty much reshot the whole movie and just CGI the actors together because all their schedule conflicted with the reshoot time table.
