And when the suits see the reaction to Ben Affleck's non-Whedon Batman, and see that audiences can appreciate and handle the concept of these two Batmen...then the real fun begins. And just in time for, oh, say...FLASHPOINT.
I think it would be really cool to have a "main" line of DC movies that follow the same continuity, and have a line titled as "Elseworlds" where they can do all the crazy stuff just like the comics.

Best to keep a lookout for his Twitter then. :hehe:

I hope we get to see more of these guys kicking ass.

I wouldn't count on it. If they'd had sequences and visuals like this already filmed and rendered, Whedon would have probably worked them into the final product somehow.

This is concept art, and it's things the movie wasn't going to be after the reaction to BVS. I doubt they're giving him enough money to finish it in a way they wouldn't even allow him to begin when he was on the project. Keep in mind, Whedon added CGI and color grading to the final battle, ostensibly to make it more visually striking than what was there in Snyder's version. We'll see.

I think Whedon would have included more of the Snyder directed scenes if he wasn't working under the strict 2hour mandate. I expect he cut down action scenes and shots like Batman on the gargoyle simply because he had to make the film so short.

Just thinking, before the Snyder Cut announcement, who really knew what HBO Max was? I mean, there's HBO Go, HBO Now, and regular ol HBO cable. How many people really know the difference between them? And now you're adding HBO Max to it? That's confusing to a lot of people.

But now they can advertise "the Snyder Cut on HBO MAX" and it gets the streaming service a lot of press (even picked up by CNN and other non movie news sources). People start to understand HBO Max is a streaming service like Disney+. It really is smart to do it this way.

Can’t wait to see this version on the screen.
Far more menacing than the one we got in theatrical version.

I really like the more demonic look to Steppenwolf. It told me all I needed to know about the New Gods of Apokolips. They are less aliens and more evil entities. Darkseid should represent pure evil. His followers should resemble demon lords of hell.

Well, most of us already knew this, so. ^^'

I'm not an expert on aspect ratios, so is this good or bad? ^^'

It just means the screen will be shorter than the theatrical cut which was 1:85 I believe.

I kind of figured that. I just don't know to what extent.

1.33:1 is practically square, like old TV's. A rarely-used aspect ratio anymore.

1.43:1 is IMAX aspect ratio.

1.78:1 is your basic aspect ratio for most HD TV's.

"Flat" aspect ratio is 1.85:1. That's what the Avengers was shot at, and is generally more conducive to 3D and vertical action.

"Scope" aspect ratio is 2.39:1. That's super widescreen and is meant for wide vistas. On most TV's today, you'll have black bars on the top and bottom of the screen to accommodate such a wide image.

So 1.66:1 is slightly more square-ish than Flat. There might be thin vertical bars on the sides for most TV's.

Interesting. I'm... not quite sure what to make of it yet, but hopefully it still looks good.

Ah yes, it was a fave of Kubrick's. That's probably a big part of the appeal for Snyder.
