I know y’all are gonna call me a lunatic for this but personally im gonna skip the commentary. Even though i definitely like hearing cool behind the scenes tidbits from directors and stuff I’ve never been one of those “ok lets dissect how each shot was done” kind of people—it kind of ruins the magic of the movie for me. Thats just me.

I’m gonna wait to hear from you guys if anything noteworthy is said though :)

Also Snyder clarified what he shot with Jared and co. was ONE scene. The additional photography is just additional scene.
And he said it was really simple. I’m starting to think Green Lantern will not show up and Garza/Randolph will look like morons and try to cover it up with some excuse.

I mean there were talks that Margot and Viola were there for it too but now I’m not so sure. If Manganiello & Heard were indeed on set with Leto then it’s clearly the Knightmare. And it will last 4 minutes. It’s probably a few of the characters (Batman, Joker, Deathstroke and Mera) in a closed off space - similar to the underground portion of the Knightmare sequence in BvS. “Really simple” sounds like it wasn’t some 2 or 3 week extravaganza on set, with stuntmen etc. Probably more dialogue driven.

From Zack’s words and body language lately it feels like a lot of this has been exaggerated by us, headlines and b.s scoopers trying to hype up a JL sequel. The guy literally said today on Ping Pong Flix’s show that he HONESTLY has zero expectations for the future and it would be a long ways off if more comes from this. I take it that he was on set for a week, shot a scene to make more sense of BvS/Darkseid and is done with it. Just one scene that had been bugging him since 2016.

Yup, and this is what I suspected from the beginning. I think people kept forgetting that at the end of the day Snyder is limited to the footage he ALREADY shot and we know for a fact that what he shot in 2016 was intended to be a standalone movie after BvS’ reception. No cliffhanger, no Darkseid killing Lois in the batcave, No Green Lantern stuff....unless SOMEHOW he managed to shoot all that stuff under WB’s noses, this is a more complete version of what the film he shot 4 years ago was.

i am more than fine with this.
and from his talk with chris wong, zack mentions there were changes he and terrio had to make, but it was changes that he was happy with.

Same dude. All I ever wanted was to see his version of the film and how he intended to end Superman's arc. I am totally satisfied if the Snyder saga ends there.

he always said the changes he and Terrio made were to the original “scary” version of the screenplay. They changed it to the film he shot in 2016. The one we are getting with a bonus scene and maybe some pick up shots ( flash). They had reconciled the story to a point he was happy with maybe “hopes” of a sequel if it went well. The opportunity may still be the same after the release of ZSJL.

exactly. We have no idea what he actually shot and what can be filled in with CG or stand Ins. etc.

He did manage to shoot a 4 hour movie with WB giving him a 2 hour limit.
The assembly cut was reported over 5 hours if I remember correctly so there is a lot of material to pull from.

I’m not saying we won’t see a JL sequel. But anyone who says that it’s happening for sure doesn’t know what they’re talking about. The “DO YOU REALLY THINK HBO WOULD GIVE HIM 70 MILLION JUST FOR THIS MOVIE..” crowd are the worst. It’s like, uhh yeah? And if it does better than they expect in 2021 of course they’ll start tossing ideas but they didn’t give him 70 million because they have this strategic plan to grant Zack two sequels in hopes of a Snyderverse renewal. The money is for Justice League.

My “ohh it’s probably 5 episodes now!” quote aged poorly lol. I will never doubt my first instinct again.

Zack said anything can happen and he did mention that the seeds he planted can result into the future. It's no secret that Zack's Snyderverse was finite, but he seems content on where and how it ends but it seems like he will end it in a way where his seeds can be built upon by another creative team.

I hate hearing that argument. They gave Zack 70 million because theyre invested in this project and want it to be the best thing possible and the stand out exclusive on HBO Max. Thats it. End of story. Some of these fans need to just chill out and enjoy this for what it is and bask in it.

I agree, there's no way HBO want this to look as bad from a visual standpoint as the theatrical version.
And seeing as this is one of the few massive movies coming out this year I'm sure they want it to look as good as possible.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the effects have improved with this new version of the trailer. I hope the knightmare shot has been heavily improved since then.

Snyder said the new scene was a rather simple shoot. Hmm..whats if its just a knightmare scene conversation lol

So dunno how to link it because Vero, but Snyder just dropped a slightly different version of the trailer, in black and white this time. I think the only change was a bit more stuff with Vic looking outside while some kids were playing football.
