What was that line Alfred said?? “ if you cant beat the bull you dont wave a red flag at it!”

What a line!
I am excited for more sometimes poetic, usually pompous, sometimes unintentionally hilarious, but always memorable Terrio dialogue. He's a writer I've come to greatly dislike but at least he has a recognizable voice.

Toby Emmerich: *sigh* alright Zack, we’re gonna agree to put this thing out there. Anything we should know beforehand?

Zack: I need $70 million dollars for reshoots, trust me, this will completely tip the scale.

Toby Emmerich: Reshoots? 70 million dollars? I...... fine, whatever. Just take the money and get out of my life already.

SIX MONTHS LATER:

Jared Leto: wow Zack, I love this line about us living in a society, though I feel like I’ve heard that before, like on my Twitter mentions or something...

Zack: yeah it’s gonna be totally awesome

First question, what the Hell is happening to the Amazon dome?? That DEFINITELY wasnt in the Whedon cut.
I thought it was because of Superman's death scream. He unleashes a sonic wave and it can be seen traveling out from the city. I assumed it went around the world and wrecked some ****.
Great trailer but why oh why are they releasing it in that awful aspect ratio. We know the film wasn’t shot that way. Why would Snyder want to release the trailer by making the movie look likes it’s cut off the sides like we’re in 1995?
It was shot that way. It was shot in IMAX and IMAX's native ratio is 1.43. It was cropped to 1.85 for the theatrical release. And 1.90 for the digital IMAX release.

Nah man you don't get it...

WE LIVE IN A

We need to keep walking down the straight and narrow socio- path...

Oh I’m sorry. ... walking down the straight and LBGTQIA socio-path.

Well, that certainly does look like Zack Snyder’s Justice League... with all the good and bad that comes from that.

It’s going to be fascinating to see what the reaction to it is, now there’s no theatrical pressure, or inevitable MCU comparisons. I’d imagine it will probably get a much reception, given that it is its own thing now.

The aspect ratio is horrendous though. Is it going to change for the actual release? 4:3 on modern TVs horribly claustrophobic. It’ll ruin the experience if it stays like that.
How so?

That is the aspect ratio it was shot in so yeah its staying like that. I watch a lot of old B&W films on my TV so this isn't anything new. Some pillarboxing isn't going to kill us.

Is Joker still rocking the metal teeth?

Also his hair seemed green to me, but that might be a trick of the lighting.

Ugh. That’s a shame. An epic movie like this should be in an epic format. Movies like The Lighthouse suit 4:3... when you want to create an air of claustrophobia. Not sure it’s the right choice for a big, sweeping superhero movie. Does not look great on my lovely big LG CX.

Really? I didn’t know that. So what happens at home when we watch, will it be presented with black bars on the side for when it’s watched on a TV kind of deal? If that’s his preferred artistic intent than I support it. I honestly thought this was just a cropped Twitter trailer release when I saw it first time.

Does anyone here know if they brought Chris Terrio back to do some additional writing for the new scenes that Snyder shot with Affleck and Leto?

Ok, didn't love it. Maybe it was the music. Some cool shots, don't get me wrong, but it didn't move me or anything like his trailers usually do.

Oh, and Darkseid towered over Steppenwolf. Darkseid's gonna be yuge.

Looks great on mine. To each their own.

Darkseid is communicating over some weird monolithy device in that shot so we really don't know if he's bigger.

So they really are sticking with this aspect ratio? There’s not gonna be a widescreen version we know of? That is a puzzling choice, to say the least.

It was shot in IMAX, so that is the closest aspect ratio to IMAX.

It wasnt the best Zack Snyder trailer. I also felt something was ...missing. A certain punch that some of his other trailers have had. Cant explain it. But still overall it looked f***ing awesome.

I think for me it was the ending. The trailer kept building and building and building and the end of the trailer didnt deliver that epic DAMNNNN moment.

I must be getting old, because the 'We live in a society' thing went right over my head. I thought I'd missed a memorable line from a comic that I've read. I'm all for it's metatastic nature though.

Really interested in seeing how much of a different experience this cut is.

The only glimmer of hope this gave me, was more in-depth fallout of Superman’s death.

I didnt really scream or jump out in joy or freak out at any point. More like “thats cool”, “sweet”, etc

Not comparable to man of steel or bvs trailers. Still gonna be a dope movie

I take it back. Looks like he's talking to a hologram of Desaad. Darkseid still looks yuge next to the parademons.
