🇷🇺🇺🇦 Discussion: Relations with Russia and the war in Ukraine

There's a lot of talk that Ukraine pretended to withdraw to draw the Russians after them and set a trap successfully.

It's seemed from the very beginning that Ukraine has had better intelligence than has Russia and has used that to their advantage. UK and US have seemed to be exceptionally helpful in that regard.

Does it seem that way to others?

We should probably not focus on Russia, but instead focus on America and all the issues going on in this country. Ukraine should fight for itself. It's oceans away. Though as a Veteran myself I felt drawn to join their defensive force in some ways.

He was just another Russian gangster thug. We're always dealing with them even if they seem they are young and hip or enjoy taking pictures of their yachts with beautiful women.

The world exists as an international community. The argument that we should focus on America existed back in the 1930s when Hitler rose to power. Had the US not gotten involved, we might very well be living in a very different world. What happens in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, etc. affects everyone and digging your own little hole isn't a viable solution.

There are certainly issues we should focus on in America, but if you can't work on internal and international issues, you're in trouble.

If the next gangster leader after you (Putin) die and doesn't have a death ***** for stealing other people's countries, we'll see.

The Daily Beast - Kremlin Cronies Say Putin Is Ready to Go Full Kim Jong Un
Putin’s puppets have dropped all pretense that Russia is a law-abiding nation, threatening to unleash chaos and emulate the unhinged nuclear threats of North Korea.

NBC News - Putin compares himself to a famous historical figure, worrying experts about his ambitions
“Putin has been tearing off a lot of masks — what he’s revealing rather consistently is Russia’s new imperial ambitions,” one expert said.

I kind of feel these new articles are months behind the curve.

Damn, hope they get enough to hold out. :csad:

Ukraine was never going to win a war of attrition. The only hope they had was NATO ending this war before the attrition caught up to them.
